Chapter 93: Dealing with Hooligans
by 切个闹Chapter 93: Dealing with Hooligans
Rumors had long been swirling around the academy that Song Que was being pestered by a she-demon, and it seemed he had even ended up marrying her.
It turned out that these rumors were true.
Huh, now that they knew this, their anger towards the couple had dissipated. What was going on?
Qin Xiaoyao noticed the expressions on the faces of the four men, and the fire in his heart flared up once again.
Then, he forcefully suppressed it.
He glanced at Song Que, and seeing that his beautiful husband showed no reaction, his heart found some solace.
"If you want compensation for your injuries, fine." Suddenly, Qin Xiaoyao spoke.
Seeing the scholar who had spoken earlier looking at him in surprise, he continued, "But your injury doesn't seem serious enough! Why don't I break it for you, and then take you to a clinic to have it set properly."
As he said this, Qin Xiaoyao took a step forward.
The scholar's face immediately changed, and he took a step back.
"And your leg. How about I break that too? That way, you can experience what it's like to be mocked as a cripple?" Qin Xiaoyao then looked at the scholar's leg.
The scholar quickly retreated, even hiding behind another scholar.
Before the other three scholars could lodge their complaints against Qin Xiaoyao,
Qin Xiaoyao gave a cold smile.
"Hmph, a bunch of spineless trash!"
Upon hearing this, the scholars' faces flushed red with anger.
But before they could speak, they heard Qin Xiaoyao say, "All of you leave your names and addresses, and promise not to slander my husband. Otherwise, if I find out, I'll make sure you regret it!"
With that, Qin Xiaoyao directly picked up the thickest brush from nearby.
Then, using both hands, she snapped the brush, which was as thick as a thumb, into two pieces.
She couldn't be bothered with reporting them to the academy; she preferred to handle things herself, eliminating the problem directly.
At this moment, not just the four scholars, but everyone else present, including Song Que, was stunned.
This—how much strength did she possess to casually snap such a thick brush in half?
The four scholars' faces completely changed, realizing they had provoked someone tough.
They had heard that Song Que's wife was exceptionally fierce, possibly even a female thug in town.
Now, observing her methods and style, it seemed that might actually be true.
If they were to be targeted by such a female thug, getting beaten up would be the least of their worries. What if she coveted them, leaving them to suffer the same fate as Song Que?
For a moment, the four scholars looked at each other, all feeling a sense of panic.
It was Mr. Wang who recovered first, instructing an attendant to fetch ink, brush, and paper.
Since Lady Qin had subdued the four men, they would proceed according to her wishes.
The four scholars deeply regretted not taking the opportunity Mr. Wang had offered earlier. With no choice, they left their names and home addresses.
They didn't dare write false information, unsure if Mr. Wang and Song Que knew where they lived.
If they were caught providing fake addresses, they had no confidence that Qin Xiaoyao would let them leave the bookstore unscathed.
Having obtained the information left by the group, Qin Xiaoyao handed it over to Mr. Wang and Song Que for review.
After confirming that the content was correct, she put the paper away.
"It's time for an apology." She then looked at the four men and said.
All four were startled.
They had already left their information, and now they had to apologize?
"Hmm?" Displeasure tinged Qin Xiaoyao's tone.
"Sorry, Brother Song!"
"Please forgive me, Brother Song!"
"Brother Song, Sister-in-law, please forgive us!"
"..."
The four men hurriedly clasped their hands in apology.
Qin Xiaoyao's expression improved slightly.
"This is your final warning: do not spread what happened here today. Otherwise—the rest of your lives, watch your backs." She said sternly.
"Yes, yes!" Someone hastily agreed, and the four men bowed deeply.
"Get lost!" Qin Xiaoyao finally relented.
The four men quickly ran off, as if fleeing for their lives.
Mr. Wang and the shop assistant, seeing this, were both filled with admiration for Qin Xiaoyao in their hearts.
This Lady Qin truly lived up to her reputation—she was indeed extraordinary.
After the four men had left, Qin Xiaoyao turned around, transforming from her previously terrifying and domineering demeanor to one of respect as she bowed politely to Mr. Wang.
"Those four had ill intentions, and I feared you would have trouble dealing with them, so I took action. I hope you can forgive me, Mr. Wang."
"As for this writing brush," she glanced at the broken brush beside her, "I will pay for it at its full price."
Mr. Wang waved his hand with a smile.
"There's no need for compensation. The incident happened within my bookshop, yet I failed to intervene promptly—it is my fault."
"But—" Mr. Wang continued, looking at Qin Xiaoyao with a cautionary gaze.
"Injuring others is against the law. Lady Qin, you must not act on impulse in the future."
Qin Xiaoyao smiled. "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Wang. I know how to handle myself." Her expression was confident and composed.
Mr. Wang knew that when dealing with some unruly individuals, there were methods specific to handling such people.
He had already given his advice, and it wouldn't be appropriate to say more.
Then, he exchanged a few more words with Song Que and Qin Xiaoyao.
After accepting the money for the writing brush that Qin Xiaoyao insisted on paying as compensation, he saw the two off.
Watching the couple depart, one riding in a carriage and the other pushing it, Mr. Wang couldn't help but stroke his beard.
He suddenly felt that these two might actually be quite well-matched after all...
Pushing the cart, Qin Xiaoyao's mind was wandering.
She kept replaying in her head the scene where her beautiful husband had said she was his wife.
Until she was startled by the sound of Song Que tapping on the cart.
When she looked at Song Que with a flushed face, she realized that her handsome husband's face had darkened.
"W-What's wrong?" asked a certain someone guiltily.
"I called out to you several times. What were you thinking about?" Seeing Qin Xiaoyao's flushed cheeks, Song Que's anger subsided somewhat.
"I-I-" Qin Xiaoyao tried to come up with an excuse, but found her mind as muddled as glue, unable to think of anything.
"Enough! Turn back, let's go check out that cloth store." Looking at Qin Xiaoyao, Song Que spoke.
Qin Xiaoyao was taken aback.
Turning around, she realized they had indeed passed a cloth store and had gone quite a distance beyond it.
So she quickly turned the cart around and pushed Song Que back.
Damn it, no wonder her beautiful husband was angry.
He must have called out to her several times to stop, but she hadn't heard him.
Daring not to let her mind wander again, Qin Xiaoyao stopped the cart in front of the cloth store.
Then she supported Song Que, and together they entered the shop.
It was almost noon, and not only were there few people on the street, but there were also no customers in the cloth store.
The shopkeeper greeted the couple as they entered.
"What kind of fabric are you looking for, sir and madam?" he asked warmly.
Song Que turned his head and glanced at Qin Xiaoyao, who was grinning foolishly, lost in thought again, feeling a hint of helplessness.
"We need fine cotton and coarse cloth. Fine cotton for undergarments and coarse cloth for outerwear. There are three adults and two children in our household." Song Que stated directly.
