Chapter 92: Lamb to the Slaughter

Upon reaching their yurt, Liang Xigui and Tan Xing led their horses to the stable, where Gong Bu prepared a special meal for the exhausted steeds.

Luo Dan had already finished cooking; seeing the trio return, she called out, "Brother Liang, Little Star, dinner is ready."

    "Alright, Sister Luo Dan."

Tan Xing's palms were black from gripping the reins too tightly. Liang Xigui pulled out a wet wipe to clean his hands, then gently combed through Tan Xing's wind-tousled hair with his fingers.

"Are your inner thighs chafed?" Liang Xigui asked casually.

At these words, Tan Xing curled his fingers slightly, a clear sign of guilt. Liang Xigui glanced at him subtly, waiting for him to confess.

    "It's okay."

    "Take off your pants."

Tan Xing shook his head. He would never give the other party an opportunity to take advantage. "I'm fine."

    "Take them off."

    "I, I'm hungry. I want to eat."

"In that case, we'll talk after you've eaten."

Liang Xigui turned around and tossed the dirty wet wipe into the trash can. He could let Tan Xing off the hook for now, knowing that the end result would be the same regardless.

After receiving this reprieve, Tan Xing walked away happily, relieved that he had escaped unscathed.

He wasn't done having fun yet and didn't want to spend the next few days confined to bed.

For lunch, Luo Dan prepared dishes rich in local flavor. Tan Xing relished a roasted lamb leg, finding this place a carnivore's paradise, where meat was available every day upon waking.

Liang Xigui, however, maintained an indifferent attitude toward all food, neither praising nor criticizing it.

"Little Star really loves meat," Luo Dan observed.

"Just prepare something light for him tonight. He's still recovering and needs a balanced diet," Liang Xigui said to Luo Dan.

Hearing this, the meat in Tan Xing's mouth suddenly lost its appeal. How could this person do this? It was pure revenge, a personal vendetta disguised as official business.

"Oh, alright, no problem, Brother Liang. I'll pay extra attention tonight."

Tan Xing shifted from enjoying his meal to eating out of frustration, deliberately making noise. It was clear who he was trying to show up.

Liang Xigui pretended not to notice, lowering his head to continue eating. Luo Dan and Gong Bu, the siblings, felt trapped, enduring an uncomfortable meal.

After eating, Tan Xing began to feel drowsy. His afternoon nap was non-negotiable, no matter where he was.

As soon as he stepped into the room, Tan Xing was scooped up by the waist. Liang Xigui threw him onto the piled-up bedding, and in the next second, his legs went cold as his pants were pulled down.

Tan Xing silently regretted not wearing a belt today. Without it, there was no time to brace himself.

"Don't move around." Liang Xigui smacked Tan Xing's wiggling buttocks, causing a shudder to ripple through his body.

His legs were forcefully spread apart, revealing a patch of purple-red skin on his inner thighs, some areas raw and scraped.

"What are you trying to prove?"

Tan Xing received another slap, crying out in pain. Why did this person have to pour salt on his wounds when he was already injured?

Liang Xigui got out of bed and rummaged through his suitcase to find the first aid kit. From it, he retrieved iodine and cotton swabs, and also grabbed a jacket to place under Tan Xing.

"It might hurt a bit, bear with it."

Before Tan Xing could react, a searing pain shot through his inner thigh.

"I can't bear it, it hurts so much."

Liang Xigui, helpless, bent down to blow on the wound. Once Tan Xing had recovered, he continued disinfecting it.

The pain indeed subsided for Tan Xing, but the sight of Liang Xigui blowing air between his legs was too stimulating. He found himself having inappropriate thoughts at such an inopportune moment.

Liang Xigui, of course, didn't miss Tan Xing's reaction. With a hint of amusement, he said, "Star is truly spirited."

Tan Xing tried to close his legs, but Liang Xigui's knee prevented him. His plan failed.

All he could do was grab a pillow from the side and bury his face deeply into it. It was embarrassing to have this happen to him, making him seem desperate and lustful.

Liang Xigui didn't tease him further. He found an anti-inflammatory ointment for abrasions in the first aid kit and squeezed out a pea-sized amount, warming it in his palm.

As the ointment was applied to the wound, the burning sensation quickly dissipated, replaced by a cool, refreshing feeling.

Tan Xing was pampered thoroughly, lying obediently on his stomach for whatever came next.

When Liang Xigui finished and looked up again, Tan Xing had fallen asleep, hugging the pillow. He was truly a carefree little thing.

Liang Xigui removed Tan Xing's shoes, covered him with a blanket, and tidied up the first aid kit. He was unusually diligent for someone who was supposed to be a domineering CEO.

However, instead of immediately joining Tan Xing in bed for a nap as he usually did, he took out his laptop from his bag and connected it to his phone's file transfer assistant.

On the desktop, Liang Xigui opened an encrypted folder named "star." and transferred today's photos and videos into it.

The folder already contained many videos and photos. Tan Xing rarely posed for pictures, so most of them were candid shots taken without his knowledge.

Even if it was just one eye visible during a video call, Liang Xigui cherished it, saving screenshots as precious memories.

Cultivating a relationship, caring for a life, nurturing a flower or a cat—all required immense patience.

People often take love for granted in its abundance, gradually becoming accustomed to it until it fades into the mundane.

So Liang Xigui sought to extend this affection through another medium, using loving eyes to continuously uncover Tan Xing's shining qualities, embracing his soul.

Tan Xing was lost in slumber when the pillow in his arms was gently removed, and he found himself enveloped in a warm embrace, the familiar scent promising a night of pleasant dreams.

Kong Luo had just wrapped up a photo shoot and was idly scrolling through videos on her phone in the car, when a familiar figure flashed across the screen.

She swiped up, "Hey, isn't that Xiao Xing? What's he doing in this video?"

The title read, "Handsome Young Man Rescues Child on Horseback, Mother Gratefully Bows in Tears," and Liang Heng leaned over to watch as well, noticing the video was tagged with their city's location.

Kong Luo, caught up in the drama involving her own family, couldn't resist wanting to know the full story, but after making several calls, not one was answered.

Seeing Kong Luo's frustration, Liang Heng chuckled and consoled her, "The kids might be sleeping at this hour."

"Liang Xigui, that lazy bum, sleeps so much, even in the afternoon. I never realized how much of a sleeper he is," Kong Luo complained, still miffed about missing out on the details.

"Honey, do you want pilaf or fried noodles?"

    "Pilaf."

Liang Heng silently chuckled; Kong Luo was still the same as when she was young—easily led off-topic by someone else's question whenever she tried to change the subject abruptly.

"Alright, let's try a place with good reviews for pilaf."

Liang Xigui's phone, buried under a pile of clothes, lit up repeatedly, but unfortunately, it failed to rouse the two sleepers in bed.

Tan Xing woke up twice during the night due to an unintentional closure of his legs, which rubbed against a wound, causing him pain.

Later, he lifted one leg to rest on Liang Xigui's, wrapping his arm around Liang Xigui's waist, adopting a wide-spread sleeping posture—a peculiar scenario akin to a lamb entering the tiger's den.
