Chapter 117
by 荷风送Chapter 117
Loving pleasure is naturally different from the kind devoid of love.
Because he genuinely cherishes and cares for her, Wen Mochuan is very considerate of Jiang Yiyan's feelings in every position.
Coupled with his skillfulness, the intimate encounter leaves Jiang Yiyan blushing and filled with delightful memories.
At this moment, her affection for Wen Mochuan has naturally deepened.
Thinking that not only will she have money and a good life, but also be able to enjoy such delicious meals regularly, life seems almost perfect.
With these beautiful visions of the future, Jiang Yiyan drifted off to sleep.
Though initially tired, she had some trouble falling asleep. However, after their intimate encounter, she slept deeply and soundly.
Upon waking, she felt a lingering sense of physical exhaustion but was surprisingly refreshed both mentally and emotionally.
Up until now, her relationship with Wen Mochuan has made substantial progress. Having taken that step, all they need to do now is live well together.
Jiang Yiyan had just woken up when Wen Mochuan sent her a message asking, "Are you awake?"
Just as she was about to reply, another message came through, asking, "Would you like to have lunch together today?"
A smile unconsciously spread across Jiang Yiyan's face as she replied with a simple "Yes."
After confirming they would eat together, Wen Mochuan then asked, "What would you like to eat?"
Jiang Yiyan thought seriously for a moment and suddenly realized that during their recent trip to Green City, they mostly ate local specialties, which were generally light. She now craved something more flavorful.
So she said, "I want to eat hot pot."
Wen Mochuan has grown accustomed to his wife's down-to-earth tastes, which now align closely with his own.
He wasn't born into wealth; before high school, he lived a modest life with his mother. While he isn't stingy with money, he instinctively prefers being frugal.
When it comes to spending on his wife and child, Wen Mochuan doesn't hesitate.
But he dislikes extravagance.
Feeling refreshed, Jiang Yiyan's appetite was excellent. Thinking about having hot pot for lunch, she looked forward to it even more.
However, there was no rush. It was still early, so she took her time getting ready.
First, she went into the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water. Happily, Feng Ma had recently bought a new bouquet of roses, so Jiang Yiyan scattered petals in the water. After adjusting the water temperature, she sat in the tub with her phone, enjoying a bath while watching a show.
After the bath, she applied a face mask.
Once her preparations were complete, she sat at her vanity and carefully applied a light, elegant makeup.
Leaving home promptly at eleven, she arrived at their meeting place right at half past eleven.
Wen Mochuan was already waiting there.
Knowing her preferences well, he had ordered the dishes before she arrived. Seeing her, he handed her the digital menu, saying, "Take a look."
Jiang Yiyan took the menu and looked through it carefully. There were intestines, stomachs, beef, mutton, fish, shrimp, and more. She added two vegetable dishes.
"Two people should be enough," she said, emphasizing that waste was unnecessary.
Wen Mochuan nodded and placed the order.
With the dishes ordered, the two of them were left alone in the booth, and the atmosphere became slightly awkward.
Not only did Jiang Yiyan feel awkward, but Wen Mochuan also shared this feeling.
Logically, they had experienced intimacy before, but perhaps due to changes in their mindset, things felt different now.
The woman sitting opposite him felt entirely different from before.
He had noticed this change long ago, so it didn't surprise him.
Perhaps if Jiang Yiyan were still the same as before, their relationship wouldn't have reached this point.
"Are you uncomfortable?" he asked, showing concern.
Understanding what he meant, Jiang Yiyan shook her head, "No."
Their eyes met, and Jiang Yiyan still felt embarrassed.
Now fully awake, the scenes from last night played vividly in her mind, making her blush even now.
But she didn't dare or want Wen Mochuan to notice these subtle changes.
So she quickly changed the subject, asking, "Xie Mingfeng and Yun Lan's wedding is in a few days. Yun Lan asked me this morning if I was back." They would definitely attend as a family.
Wen Mochuan nodded, "Xie Mingfeng has already informed us. We need to attend the housewarming party the day before." He looked at his wife, concerned she might not understand, and explained, "The housewarming party is hosted separately by the groom's side. I'll have to go alone."
Jiang Yiyan nodded, understanding.
Every place, and even every social class, has its own customs for weddings.
Their own wedding was held elsewhere due to their special status, attracting media attention. Photos from their wedding even ended up online.
Given their backgrounds, Xie Mingfeng and Yun Lan couldn't have a similar wedding.
On the day of the housewarming party, Wen Mochuan didn't get drunk. He wasn't the best man, and given his status, no one dared to force him to drink unless he wanted to.
However, an incident occurred during the housewarming party. One of the playboy Xie Mingfeng's ex-girlfriends suddenly showed up.
Xie Mingfeng himself hadn't expected that an ex-girlfriend from his college days would suddenly show up after so many years, especially since he hadn't invited her to the wedding this time.
Fortunately, nothing untoward happened; she just came by to congratulate him on finally getting married, hoping to draw a perfect conclusion to their past.
Wen Mochuan came back and told Jiang Yiyán about this incident, and she was quite moved.
"Romances in college must be beautiful," she said, thinking of how simple and pure relationships were back then. After entering society and struggling for a living, even the most genuine love had to withstand the test of reality.
"The girl's family wasn't well-off, and she was from out of town. Xie Mingfeng's parents actually approved at first because she was a good person. But later, when her family found out she had a decent boyfriend in Shenzhen, they started demanding a dowry. Initially, it was only 200,000 yuan, but when Xie Mingfeng's parents agreed immediately, they changed their minds and said it was too little. They kept changing their demands, making things difficult for everyone. Eventually, Xie Mingfeng got fed up."
"After arguing with her several times, they broke up, initiated by her."
"Don't underestimate Xie Mingfeng's emotional depth despite his experience. He suffered during that period, but eventually, he got through it."
"Later, the girl couldn't bear the sudden breakup and came back to him, begging for reconciliation. However, Xie Mingfeng refused. At the time, he still had feelings for her, but he said people should move forward, and revisiting the past wouldn't necessarily lead to a better future."
"He was firm in his decision. The girl, in our eyes, seemed to have lost her dignity in trying to reconcile."
"We also advised Xie Mingfeng that if there were still feelings, it might be worth resolving the issues. But he was stubborn and refused."
"Eventually, the girl left one day without telling anyone where she went. After that, Xie Mingfeng dated a few more women but never as seriously. Until he met Yun Lan."
Wen Mochuan and Xie Mingfeng were college roommates with a strong bond. Wen Mochuan had met all of Xie Mingfeng's girlfriends.
He knew the nature of each relationship.
Jiang Yiyán didn't know if Yun Lan was aware of this, but she decided not to tell her anything about it. As friends, they shouldn't interfere too much in others' marriages.
The wedding proceeded as planned the next day. Yun Lan stood on stage in a beautiful wedding dress, alongside Xie Mingfeng, and everyone commented on how well-matched they looked.
Two days later, while attending a family banquet at the Jiang residence, Jiang Yiyán learned from Jiang Xu that Shu Yao had temporarily settled in Ningcheng and was now an English teacher at a local high school.
Jiang Xu knew this because Cai Wenqing, who hadn't given up hope, deliberately shared this information with him.
Jiang Yiyán could guess Cai Wenqing's motive: she probably wanted to reunite her daughter with Jiang Xu, the backup option.
However, after Jiang Xu regained clarity, he no longer harbored strong feelings for Shu Yao.
Reflecting on the past, he found his own actions absurd. Even though he had conflicts with his sister, they were siblings after all, and he shouldn't have gone so far.
But those things did happen.
So, Jiang Xu remained puzzled, wondering if he had been bewitched during those years.
He didn't intend to deny his past mistakes. Instead, he planned to slowly mend his relationship with his sister.
He wouldn't rush, but he would be sincere.
Jiang Yiyán was indifferent. Perhaps due to reading the novel "True Love," she had always viewed Jiang Xu unfavorably. Besides, she had never considered him her brother.
As long as he treated her kindly and stopped causing trouble, that was enough.
Otherwise, she didn't want to invest extra effort into repairing their sibling relationship.
She preferred spending time with Wen Mochuan, enjoying their romance.
Eventually, they moved back to their previous villa. Before moving, they chose a date and went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to remarry.
Divorce was for happiness, for a better life, and remarriage was for the same reason.
That night, Jiang Yiyán had another dream. In the dream, the other-worldly Jiang Yiyán wore a wedding dress, standing beside a tall, handsome man in a suit. Clearly, it was her wedding day.
When she woke up in the middle of the night, Jiang Yiyán felt relieved.
It was wonderful that she had found happiness in that world. It was wonderful that her parents had her company.
Everything was perfect now.
In the middle of the night, Jiang Yiyán instinctively moved closer to the man beside her.
Wen Mochuan, half-asleep, sensed her closeness and immediately pulled her into his arms.
"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
Jiang Yiyán didn't explain, only snuggled deeper into his embrace and asked, "Are you happy now?"
Wen Mochuan opened his sleepy eyes, now more awake, and affirmed, "Of course."
Jiang Yiyán smiled. "Good, as long as you're happy." She added, "I'm very happy, happier than ever before. Mochuan, I never imagined such good fortune in my life. A few months ago, I never thought my life would turn out like this. Mochuan, it's wonderful having you by my side."
Moved by her heartfelt confession, Wen Mochuan held her tighter.
"We will be happy forever," he whispered, kissing her neck.
Yes, forever.
Forever, everything will be wonderful.
"End of Main Text"
Awww 🥰, I’m very happy for this ending, it was well written, wish the Author all the best in his/her work and more inspiration 🔥
I’m sorry to say but I found this book quite boring and I only finished to find out what exactly happened 5 years ago that led to Wen Mochuan ending up marrying Yiyan and not being with Shu Yao but it is never actually revealed! So frustrating!
