When they got home, Gu Heng went straight to the kitchen.
Just as Su Zhaozhao was considering whether to take a shower and wash her hair, Gu Heng had already started heating water.
He lit the fire and heated a large pot of water.
Su Zhaozhao came into the kitchen, "You've already started boiling water!"
"You said you smelled smoky, a shower will fix that," Gu Heng said, rolling up his sleeves to move the bathtub.
Su Zhaozhao stood on her tiptoes and gave him a loud kiss on the cheek, "You're… really great!"
She almost called him 'dear.'
Gu Heng: "..."
She didn’t need to remind him before kissing.
Before long, the water was ready. Su Zhaozhao went to fetch her pajamas, and Gu Heng poured the water into the bathtub, mixing in cold water to reach the right temperature.
"Go ahead and shower."
After setting the water, Gu Heng was about to leave.
Su Zhaozhao teased him deliberately, "Want to join in?"
Gu Heng turned to look at her, gritting his teeth, "...Sure."
This time, Su Zhaozhao was speechless. She was only joking.
She wasn’t brave enough for a shared bath.
She pushed him out, "Get out, get out."
Gu Heng stood firm like a rock, not budging an inch.
Su Zhaozhao pushed for a while but couldn’t move him and got frustrated, "Trying to be a pervert?"
Ever heard of turning the tables?
This was exactly how it happened.
Gu Heng looked at her with a deep gaze, "Who’s the real pervert here?"
Su Zhaozhao glared, "You!"
"...There’s no reasoning with you," Gu Heng said helplessly, "Fine, you wash by yourself."
He just wanted to tease her a bit since she always spoke without thinking.
Once he walked out, Su Zhaozhao shut the door with a 'bang' and bolted it.
Gu Heng stood outside taking a deep breath, he’d talk to her later.
Su Zhaozhao took her time showering. Gu Heng came to the door midway and told her to hurry up, "The water will get cold."
"I know," she hummed a little tune, completely relaxed.
Gu Heng listened carefully from outside but couldn't figure out what she was humming.
It was a tune he had never heard before.
Another ten minutes or so passed before Su Zhaozhao finally came out.
She had not only taken a bath but also washed her hair.
She had a towel wrapped around her head.
Her cheeks were slightly flushed from the steam.
A droplet of water slowly trickled down her slender neck, and Gu Heng’s gaze moved from her flushed cheeks to the droplet.
He casually grabbed a towel from the washstand and wiped it away.
"Washing your hair this late, it won’t dry before bed."
Su Zhaozhao took off the towel and started drying her hair, "I’ll sit in the courtyard to dry off."
She then walked to the rocking chair, plopped down, and with a push of her toes, the chair began to rock.
Relaxed and carefree!
Gu Heng went inside, quickly wiped himself down, and emptied the bathtub.
After emptying the water, he didn’t rest. He prepared to wash the clothes they had changed into at the sink.
Su Zhaozhao quickly said, "Don’t wash them yet, we can do it tomorrow. Come and admire the moon."
Only then did Gu Heng notice a small table set up in the courtyard with mooncakes on it.
He put down the clothes and walked over.
Su Zhaozhao had him sit in the rocking chair, and she sat on his lap.
Lying against his chest, they gazed up at the bright moon hanging high in the sky.
The stars twinkled, and the night sky was vast.
Brighter than the starlight was the round, full moon.
"When I was little, my mom used to scare me by saying that I shouldn’t point at the moon, or my ears would get cut off," Su Zhaozhao murmured, recalling the Mid-Autumn Festivals when her parents were still together before they divorced.
After they divorced, she never had another reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Gu Heng held her, "It seems all adults use that story to scare kids."
Su Zhaozhao sat up slightly, "Your mom, I mean, our mom, told you that too?"
Gu Heng nodded.
Su Zhaozhao couldn’t help but laugh, "Did you believe it?"
She had truly believed it when she was little, afraid she might accidentally point at the moon.
Gu Heng said, "I didn’t believe it. It sounded like a lie to scare children."
Su Zhaozhao reached out and pinched his mouth, "You were smart."
Gu Heng’s lips were pinched into a pout.
“……”
He was becoming more and more mischievous!
Su Zhaozhao withdrew her hand and pointed at the moon with a mischievous grin. "I’ll see if it can cut my ears."
He still acts like a child.
“I’m Li Xiangyang!”
“Sun Wukong sneaked into the Bull Demon King’s stomach and fought from the inside out…”
At 9:30, the movie finished, and the crowd in the small square dispersed. People who watched the movie were satisfied as they carried their stools home.
The children ran and jumped on the road, laughing and reciting lines from the movie, pretending to be the heroic fighters.
Hearing the sounds outside, Su Zhaozhao and Gu Heng separated from the rocking chair. It would be too embarrassing if the children saw them like this.
Sure enough, just as they stood up from the rocking chair, Gu Xiang and Gu Nian returned.
The door creaked as it was pushed open from the outside.
The two siblings walked in happily.
“Mom, the movie was so good! You left before it ended, that’s too bad,” said Gu Nian.
“It’s not a pity. I saw this movie when we went to the city last time.”
“You can watch it again. If it’s shown next time, I’ll watch it again.”
“Watch it as much as you like. Are you hungry?”
“Yes, I’m hungry.”
Su Zhaozhao’s hair was almost dry. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and went inside to apply lotion.
As soon as she went in, Gu Heng followed her.
He closed the door behind him.
They had been sharing a room for some time, and as soon as he closed the door, Su Zhaozhao knew what he wanted.
“The children aren’t asleep yet,” Su Zhaozhao glanced at him.
“They are. They’ve already gone to their rooms.”
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, the lights in the living room and the west room went out.
Gu Heng went to draw the curtains.
After drawing the curtains, he pulled Su Zhaozhao.
Su Zhaozhao said, “I haven’t finished applying the lotion to my face yet.”
Gu Heng extended his hand. "Let me do it for you."
His hand approached, massaging her face.
Even worse, his hands pressed against her face, squeezing it together...
Su Zhaozhao's cheeks were distorted, her little mouth pouted.
"Plop!" Gu Heng stamped a kiss on her lips!
Revenge, pure and simple.
Su Zhaozhao huffed. "My hair isn’t dry yet. If I lie down like this, I’ll get a headache."
Gu Heng’s voice was rough. "Then we won’t go to bed."
What?
Captain Gu, since when have you been so naughty?
Before Su Zhaozhao could respond, a strong arm wrapped tightly around her slender waist, and swiftly turned, pinning her against the wall.
Su Zhaozhao found herself lifted off her feet, her full weight now supported by Gu Heng’s strong arms.
A hot breath washed over her.
She instinctively raised her hands, wrapping them around his slender neck, and tilted her head back, meeting his passionate, assertive kiss...
Adoro o fato que eles são fofos como casal e que não ficam enrolando para fazer amor hehe
