The news that Division Commander Gu's family had welcomed a pair of twin sons spread rapidly throughout the entire compound!

Everyone was green with envy!

As soon as Su Zhaozhao left the hospital, visitors started arriving at her home.

Wang Chunhua's family was the first to come, bringing a lot of gifts. Zhu Chunyan said enviously, "Having two at once, it's so much more efficient!"

Wang Chunhua replied, "Efficient, yes, but raising them is exhausting."

Su Zhaozhao nodded, "Just thinking about it makes me anxious."

"That's true. You still have to work, and you probably wouldn't feel comfortable leaving such young children in daycare. If you really have no one to help, you might as well hire someone."

Hiring someone is out of the question.

Not wanting to disturb Su Zhaozhao's rest, Wang Chunhua and the others stayed for a while before leaving. Later, more people came, but Gu Heng didn't let them go upstairs to disturb Su Zhaozhao. He only allowed them to chat downstairs, and if the children woke up, he would bring them down to show them.

Su Lai arrived the next day after hearing that Su Zhaozhao had given birth, carrying a bundle.

"I've taken a month off. I'm here to take care of my sister during her postpartum period."

Su Zhaozhao: "Did your factory have no objections to you taking such a long leave?"

Su Lai said, "I told my supervisor that I needed to take care of my sister during her postpartum period, and he approved it immediately. He even asked if a month was enough."

And so, Su Zhaozhao officially began her postpartum recovery period.

During the day, Su Lai took care of her, while at night, Gu Heng was in charge. All she had to do was eat, drink, and breastfeed the baby.

The only thing that really bugged her was Gu Heng not letting her wash her hair or take a bath.

"Don’t you feel uncomfortable smelling my stench?"

"It doesn’t smell bad."

"It’s not you who’s stinky, of course you don’t feel it. Do you know how uncomfortable I am?" Su Zhaozhao was going nuts; she could smell her own greasy hair with every breath!

"Studies show that washing your hair and bathing during the recovery period is really important! Bathing can prevent bacterial growth, and washing your hair can promote blood circulation!"

Gu Heng looked at her, "What book says that?"

Su Zhaozhao was so angry she didn’t want to talk to him.

To settle this, Gu Heng made a special trip to the hospital, consulted the doctor carefully, then closed the doors and windows, moved the large bathtub into the room, and helped her wash her hair and take a bath once.

That was the only time during her entire recovery period. There was no second chance; neither Gu Heng nor Su Lai would allow it.

Last time when she washed, Su Lai didn’t agree. If Gu Heng hadn’t asked the doctor, she would have stopped them from heating the water.

She believed that not bathing or washing your hair after childbirth was a time-honored tradition that couldn’t possibly be wrong. Getting sick during this time could cause problems later in life.

And so, Su Zhaozhao finished her recovery period.

The first thing Gu Nian did when she got home for the break was check on her brothers. Seeing that they had grown well, she was relieved.

The brothers were indeed not ugly!

They were quite good-looking!

They were the cutest babies she’d ever laid eyes on.

"They look exactly the same."

Su Lai said beside her, "Of course twins look the same. Can you tell which one’s the older brother and which one’s the younger?"

Gu Nian looked carefully and pointed to the baby with a small mole under the corner of his eye, "This one’s the older brother."

"Our Gu Nian can still tell them apart," Su Lai said with a smile to Su Zhaozhao.

Gu Nian proudly said, "I’m their big sister—of course I can tell them apart!"

Then she added, "My brother would never be able to tell them apart!"

Su Zhaozhao was at a loss for words—your brother hasn’t even seen them yet, how could he tell them apart?

Once her recovery period ended, Su Lai went back to work. Gu Heng packed up a bunch of stuff and had Xiao Xiang drive her back.

Su Zhaozhao’s maternity leave got extended indefinitely. Director Liu told her to drop by the office now and then to take care of some finance department stuff, and let the others handle the rest.

When Su Zhaozhao wasn’t around, Liu Fusheng took over.

Deputy Director Hu, surprisingly, didn’t object. He hoped Su Zhaozhao wouldn’t come back to the office, so his daughter could take on more responsibilities and boost her chances of a promotion.
