    Chapter 31: Calling It Quits

    "Calling it quits?"

The moment Chu Yan uttered those words, an intense surge of murderous intent erupted within Fu Junhang. He was a little unhinged—this was his primal instinct, triggered only when things spiraled beyond his control. Yet, it had been years since he last encountered such a situation.

An oppressive, chilling aura instantly permeated the entire room.

But it lasted only a fleeting moment before he reined it in.

Chu Yan didn’t even have time to react; he merely felt his breath catch abruptly, his body momentarily seized by an invisible force before it vanished. He dismissed it as his imagination.

Even Fu Junhang himself was surprised by the intensity of his reaction. It was just a game, wasn’t it?

From the very beginning, it had been a game—one he himself had orchestrated. Yet, for a split second, he had lost control. Fu Junhang had never imagined he would lose his composure over someone else’s words, especially those of someone so seemingly insignificant.

    It was utterly absurd.

After that brief lapse, Fu Junhang quickly regained his composure.

"Why? Is there something about my service that displeases you, little sugar baby?"

Though he tried his best to restrain himself, the suppressed intensity in his eyes still made Chu Yan tremble involuntarily, unable to meet the man’s gaze.

    "Nothing’s wrong."

"We agreed on three months. You spent nine million, and it hasn’t even been one month yet."

Chu Yan couldn’t bring himself to meet his eyes, so he turned his head away.

"We spelled it out in our agreement: the patron has the right to terminate the relationship at any time, but you don’t have the right to refuse."

    "Then what’s the reason?"

A dark flicker hid deep within Fu Junhang’s eyes, but fortunately, his volatile emotions were now completely suppressed, his expression calmer than ever before.

Yet Chu Yan couldn’t shake the feeling that this male model was somehow terrifying, a sensation he couldn’t quite pinpoint. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt.

"I just don’t want to play anymore. I’m bored, like I just said."

Fu Junhang’s eyes narrowed—a dangerous sign. "It seems my little patron is very displeased with my service."

    "No."

"Then why? Why are you suddenly bored?"

Fu Junhang admitted that the kid’s words infuriated him, deeply infuriated him. And the consequences of his anger were severe, far beyond what this little fool could possibly bear.

But seeing the hint of fear in Chu Yan’s eyes, Fu Junhang forcefully suppressed the urge to push him down and ravage him mercilessly.

His long, slender fingers slowly traced the boy’s slightly raised jawline, his thumb gliding down to the delicate column of his neck—so slender, so easily encircled.

Chu Yan’s neck was fair and sensual, his Adam’s apple subtly pulsing beneath Fu Junhang’s palm. Every time he kissed him, Fu Junhang loved to gently bite his Adam’s apple, nibbling lightly, deliberately leaving marks, then relishing how Chu Yan trembled uncontrollably under his touch, listening to his breathing quicken from his caresses. He loved seeing Chu Yan’s every reaction be because of him, even feeling as if his very life was within his grasp.

    This thrilled Fu Junhang.

With just a gentle bite, he could end his life, making him completely, eternally, his own.

    He was utterly exhilarated.

Just like now, his slender fingers slowly tightened around the boy’s delicate, pale neck, which still bore the lingering marks he had left moments ago—so distinct, so passionate. Now, with just a slight increase in pressure, he could easily snap his neck, and then those lips would never again utter words he didn’t want to hear.

    But…

"We signed an agreement. Have you forgotten our terms?"

Chu Yan’s heart ached too. If he weren’t in such a desperate situation, blacklisted across the entire internet and potentially facing an astronomical breach penalty from the *Rebirth* production team, he wouldn’t have made this decision.

This male model was absolutely exceptional, wasn’t he? And having arrived in this world all alone, now a solitary figure, this man was arguably the only person he had been intimately close to in this new life. If it weren’t absolutely necessary, how could he bear to terminate the contract?

In fact, he had initially thought that if this male model, like the original owner’s fair-weather friends, abandoned him or kicked him while he was down upon seeing his current predicament, he would simply cut ties with him. But he never expected that the man would rush to his side so quickly, just from a single word.

Honestly, Chu Yan was genuinely touched and incredibly reluctant to let go, but he truly couldn’t afford him anymore.

    Ughhh~

So much for living a carefree life. Turns out, without money, you can’t be carefree at all.

The more Chu Yan thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. His eyes involuntarily reddened, tears welling up, and his voice caught with a sob.

When Fu Junhang looked up, this was the sight that greeted him: Chu Yan’s eyes slightly red, his beautiful, clear gaze brimming with stubborn tears, his lips—already swollen from kisses—now bitten almost raw. That face, already enchanting, now wore an utterly pitiful expression, striking Fu Junhang’s hardened heart.

Fu Junhang’s breath hitched. The hand around the boy’s neck recoiled as if burned.

Seeing him cry shattered Fu Junhang’s heart. What the hell was happening?

    "Don’t cry. I remember."

Fu Junhang’s voice unconsciously softened, afraid that even a slightly louder tone might make the fragile boy before him shatter.

Really, *he* wasn’t the one breaking the contract. So why did it feel like *he* was in the wrong? Who could he even complain to?

His thumb brushed over the reddened marks on Chu Yan’s collarbone again; just a light touch, and the boy shivered uncontrollably. Yet, this boy told him he was bored? Who would believe that?

"Who’s crying? *I’m* the patron. *I’m* the one who doesn’t want you anymore—*you* should be the one crying!"

Chu Yan frantically slapped the man’s hand away. He was becoming increasingly unreasonable around this man.

But the man’s large hand simply slipped under his loose shirt.

Both hands settled perfectly on the boy’s slender waist. Chu Yan trembled, his face instantly flushing crimson.

    "Get your hands off me!"

    "No."

    "Don’t make me use force!"

    "Try me!"

They went back and forth like this several times, and then, certain unspeakable parts of Chu Yan’s body, quite disobediently, reacted in ways they shouldn’t have.

The man scoffed, "Is *this* what you mean by bored?"

"None of your business!" Chu Yan, mortified, wished he could burrow into the ground. But the more flustered he was, the more stubborn his words became. "I said I’m bored, so I’m bored!"

Fu Junhang was both infuriated and amused by this kid. It had been years since he’d encountered anyone audacious enough to act this way in front of him.

He wanted to immediately demonstrate what it meant to say one thing and mean another, what it meant to lie through one’s teeth. But the moment he pinned the boy beneath him, those reddened eyes once again pierced his heart—a picture of extreme grievance yet stubborn defiance, biting his lip, glaring at him fiercely with those beautiful eyes.

"I don't want to do it now. If it's not consensual, it's rape. You're not allowed to do anything creepy. I hate creepy guys."

Fu Junhang wasn't intimidated by his threat, but the tearful quality of his voice resonated deeply, striking his very soul.

To his astonishment, Fu Junhang realized he was utterly powerless against this fragile little thing.

"Well played," Fu Junhang was so exasperated he was speechless, finally rolling off him. "My little sugar baby is truly heartless."

Seeing the terrifying look on the man’s face, Chu Yan knew his words had been a bit excessive. So he scrambled up and cautiously approached the man.

    "Are you mad?"

Chu Yan felt as if the man was intensely suppressing something. But hadn’t they agreed on this from the start? Why did it feel like he had humiliated him and pushed him to the brink of fury?

    "*Wouldn't* dare."

Listen to that—the weakest words spoken in the most homicidal tone.

"Is it because of what happened online? Or did the Chu family do something to you?"

The fleeting ruthlessness in Fu Junhang’s eyes went unnoticed by Chu Yan, who only marveled at how sharp the man was, hitting the nail on the head with his first guess.

    Chu Yan shrugged helplessly.

"As you can see, I can’t afford to keep you anymore. And they’ve blocked all my avenues for making money. From now on, I truly won’t be able to support you."

What’s worse, if *Rebirth* was truly sabotaged by the Chu family, the tenfold breach penalty would be the least of his worries. The real fear was them shifting the entire blame onto him. After all, people always loved to kick someone when they were down—he’d been dumped by the Fu family, disowned by the Chus, and now the Chu family was suppressing them because of him. Wouldn’t all their anger be directed at him?

Unless a miracle happened, he was truly in a difficult spot this time.

But Chu Yan had never had much luck in his previous life. When he came to this world, he thought all his good fortune had been used up at the very end. Now it seemed an unlucky person remained unlucky no matter where they went.

That said, though his time in this world had been brief, Chu Yan had experienced so many firsts. He was genuinely happy and didn’t regret anything he’d done.

So now, his mindset was still quite positive. After all, when debts piled high enough, one more didn’t make a difference.

Chu Yan spoke breezily, but Fu Junhang’s heart ached.

    "Actually, I—"

    *Mwah!*

Chu Yan suddenly planted a kiss on the man’s cheek, cutting off his impending words.

"Even though we agreed it was all body, no heart, I’m not a heartless sugar daddy. This time, it’s my fault for dragging you into this. I even bragged back then that you had great taste picking me, that I’d make big money and take care of you. Looks like I’ll have to break that promise now."

"Our arrangement hasn’t even lasted a month. Technically, you should refund me two months’ worth of the allowance. But I’m a generous sugar daddy—you can keep it."

"A full six million," Chu Yan flashed the Chinese lucky number gesture in front of the man. "It’s all yours."

"So? Your sugar daddy’s pretty generous, huh? Didn’t pick the wrong person, did you?"

The little fool was clearly reluctant to let go. Fu Junhang almost blurted out that he didn’t need the money—six million was nothing to him, not even six hundred million would make him blink. But their arrangement, from his perspective, had been founded on lies from the start. Faced with such sincerity from Chu Yan, he couldn’t bring himself to say a word.

"No need. I’ll pay you back."

"I said it’s yours, so it’s yours!" Chu Yan adopted his sugar daddy persona.

"I… I can help you." Fu Junhang had never felt so conflicted in his life.

It was clear the male model was just as reluctant to part with him. Chu Yan felt much more balanced now, much more at ease, satisfied that the money hadn’t been wasted.

"Alright," Chu Yan pinched the man’s alluring face. "Though you never told me, I imagine you weren’t ordinary before. I don’t know what happened to your family that led you down this path, but it must have been an incredibly, incredibly difficult hurdle."

Otherwise, with this man’s aura and pride, how could he have lowered himself to become a male model?

"See, if you could lower yourself to being a male model for money, it means you have strong determination. There’s something you absolutely must do."

"I know you’re in dire need of money—a lot of it. So there’s no need to give up what you’re fighting for just because of me. After all, ours was just a simple business arrangement."

Fu Junhang had never known how agonizing it was to be unable to speak the truth. The lies he’d casually spun had ultimately come back to stab him like a boomerang.

    What else could he say?

    "Then let’s part ways amicably."

Compared to his future predicament, his reluctance to let go of the male model occupied more of Chu Yan’s mind. However, having lived a second life, he had become much more open-minded. He could accept things easily, so he quickly regained his composure and grinned, cupping the male model’s face for a final farewell.

    "Remember, six million is yours."

He hoped the money would help a little—at least delay the man from finding another sugar daddy too soon. Otherwise, it would piss him off.

"Alright. Then… thank you, *my* little sugar daddy."

In the end, Fu Junhang couldn’t bring himself to say anything more. But goodbye? Impossible.

His game wasn't over until he said it was.
