Chapter 56: Fu Hongan Scandal
byChapter 56: Fu Hongan’s Scandal
"Chu Yan, why did you delete me on WeChat? Add me back. Now."
Chu Yan raised an eyebrow—this persistent pest.
"Do I really need to spell it out for you?"
Fu Hongan’s face darkened. He believed he had given Chu Yan ample respect, yet now Chu Yan was being so unreasonable. Could it be because he had been too kind to him today? The more he responded, the more Chu Yan seemed to think his "playing hard to get" strategy was working.
"Add me back!" Fu Hongan commanded coldly.
"Dream on!" Chu Yan’s voice was even icier, dripping with palpable disgust.
Fu Hongan gritted his teeth in anger.
"You’re utterly unreasonable."
Chu Yan rolled his eyes.
"You’re the unreasonable one, okay?"
Chu Yan couldn’t fathom what was wrong with this male lead. Why would anyone insist on chasing after someone who clearly wanted nothing to do with them? Was it just plain pathetic?
"Fu Hongan, let me make this clear one last time—we’ve broken off the engagement. We have nothing to do with each other anymore. Don’t bother me from now on. If you see me, take a hike."
"As for WeChat and phone calls, a good ex should be dead to you. And when someone dies, their accounts get deleted. So it’s perfectly reasonable for me to delete you. Don’t tell me you didn’t notice I removed you the night we broke off the engagement?"
"So do us both a favor and delete me too. Let’s never contact each other again."
As Fu Hongan listened to Chu Yan’s firm and decisive words, his frown deepened, and rage burned uncontrollably in his chest. Even when he was with Xiao Yi, he had never felt such intense emotional fluctuations.
He refused to believe Chu Yan’s words. There was no way Chu Yan truly wanted to cut ties with him—absolutely no way.
"Chu Yan, are you really going to keep acting like this? Saying such extreme things—aren’t you afraid you’ll regret it later?"
"Don’t worry, I won’t regret it."
"Let me warn you—if you bother me again, I’ll expose your affair with Chu Xiuyi. I’ll make sure the whole world knows your golden boy is a homewrecker."
"Also, I don’t want to waste another word on you—not even a punctuation mark."
"Good, good, good…"
Fu Hongan was so angry he repeated the word three times.
Just as he was about to retaliate with harsh words, strange, muffled sounds suddenly came through the phone, followed by a man’s heavy, ragged breathing.
The truth hit Fu Hongan like a truck, leaving him frozen in shock. That… that was unmistakably the sound of kissing.
In that instant, fury surged through him, making his scalp tingle and his entire body feel like it was about to explode.
"Chu Yan! What are you doing? Who is that? Who the hell is it?!"
But the only response to his furious roar was a deep, magnetic voice—laced with affection, a hint of resentment, and urgency.
"Babe~ Pay attention!"
"Chu Yan!"
*Beep beep beep…*
The call ended abruptly. Fu Hongan was so enraged he saw red. No, this couldn’t be happening.
Chu Yan loved him—how could he possibly be with another man? This had to be some act, something Chu Yan was doing just to provoke him.
Fu Hongan couldn’t believe it.
Chu Yan was really pushing it. Well, if that was how he wanted to play, then Fu Hongan wouldn't pull punches anymore.
Once *Love and Romance* aired, he was certain Chu Yan’s lame-ass reality show wouldn’t maintain its first-season popularity. By then, he and Xiao Yi would go public with their relationship—even make it Instagram-official. When that happened, even if Chu Yan came begging on his knees, it would be too late.
Little did he know, this phone call had already wrecked his sad little plans.
Fu Junhang, who had been interrupted in the middle of their moment, had already arranged some "proper welcome" for his dear nephew before arriving. But after hearing Fu Hongan’s nonsensical spiel, Fu Junhang decided the punishment he had planned wasn’t harsh enough. His nephew deserved something much worse.
Chu Yan, finally able to breathe after being kissed stupid, found it ironic that he—the one who had nearly suffocated—wasn’t the angry one. Instead, the man who had taken advantage of the situation to kiss him was now staring at him with a possessive glare.
Chu Yan sighed but still explained,
"It was a junk call."
Fu Junhang raised an eyebrow.
"Your fiancé?"
"*Ex*-fiancé, please."
Fu Junhang let out a slow "Oh," then added sourly,
"I heard the young master still has lingering feelings for his ex-fiancé, clinging to him, unable to let go, moping around…"
Chu Yan looked baffled.
"Who’s spreading such nonsense?"
Also, "Are you sucking on lemons?"
At this rate, his teeth would rot from all that sourness.
Diagnosis confirmed—this man was a professional hater. If he could get so petty over Chu Yi’s little cake, who knew how long he’d keep obsessing over Fu Hongan, the ex-fiancé?
"I don’t care," Fu Junhang pulled him closer. "From now on, you’re not allowed to have any contact with him. And no eating cakes from other men, either."
Chu Yan felt a warm flutter in his chest. He pursed his lips. "Such a baby~"
"Besides, I was forced."
Who’d want anything to do with that unhinged main character anyway?
"Relax, if he tries that again, I’ll cut his hands off."
Chu Yan thought this was just a jealous guy’s petty rant, but Fu Junhang meant every word—he had already planned how to deal with that guy.
"Sweetheart, you’re not gonna miss him, right?"
Fu Junhang suddenly dropped a fake-sweet, dramatic line.
Chu Yan immediately assured him, "Absolutely not."
"Just hearing the surname 'Fu' gives me a headache now. I don’t want anything to do with their family. These rich families are all messed up—no sane people in sight."
Chu Yan spoke from the heart. Whether it was the Fu family or the Chu family, anyone connected to the male lead was bound to be unhinged.
After all, in novels, overbearing CEOs were always unhinged. If you offended their beloved, they’d either send you to mine in Africa, throw away the key, or make you disappear entirely.
Even if it was some prestigious family or a Fortune 500 company, the CEO could bankrupt it in minutes or acquire it instantly.
It was batshit crazy.
Chu Yan just wanted to stay as far away from Fu Hongan as possible.
Little did he know, his words hit a nerve.
Fu Junhang hadn’t expected Chu Yan to despise the Fu family so much—yet he was stuck with that last name, and worse, he was the craziest in a family full of lunatics.
Was he being dragged down by that bastard?
Shit, now he was too scared to come clean.
That night, Fu Junhang ultimately didn’t get what he wanted—because Chu Yan refused.
The petty little sugar daddy worked him up till he was ready to explode, only to pull the brakes at the last second.
Fu Junhang almost lost his damn mind, but no amount of pleading worked. His brat left him high and dry, dousing him with cold water, leaving him helpless.
But what could he do? He had to spoil him.
At least he could vent his frustration in other ways.
Bam—next day, the internet blew up again.
For some reason, the hot searches had been blowing up nonstop lately, never seen this much drama before. This time, the gossip didn’t disappoint.
The heir of the top-tier Fu Group, the golden boy Fu Hongan, was caught on camera checking into a club with three male models.
Armageddon. The world was ending.
The scandal exploded across the internet, impossible to contain. The Fu Group’s PR team typed till their fingers bled—useless.
There were videos, photos—many blurred, but the blur just made people imagine worse.
All hell broke loose.
What followed—
The Fu Group’s reputation took a hit, their stocks tanked, Old Master Fu was furious, shareholders demanded a change in heir…
Overnight, Fu Hongan became public enemy #1, with endless accusations raining down on him from all sides.
Fu Hongan was completely blindsided.
He had gone to the club for a business meeting—only to fall into a trap. Who the hell would mess with the Fu heir?
Realizing he’d been drugged, Fu Hongan fought like hell to keep it together. His self-discipline was far beyond the average person’s—but who could’ve predicted his own assistant of ten years would screw him over?
The assistant didn’t take him to the hospital, didn’t call a doctor, and didn’t even follow his order to bring Chu Xiuyi.
By the time Fu Hongan regained his senses, it was already a train wreck. He had been thoroughly framed.
Three naked male models lay beside him, while he himself was equally exposed. The place looked like a porn set gone wrong.
The worst part? Then—someone kicked the door open.
Fu Hongan couldn’t tell if he felt more rage or shame. His spotless reputation? Trashed.
And then, everything went to shit.
Normally, the Fu Group’s PR team usually crushed scandals. Such incidents could be silenced before a whisper escaped—yet this time, every department failed.
The Fu Group was a total joke now, and Fu Hongan was the biggest joke of all.
He’d never live this down.
Who was behind it? Another wealthy family?
But no one messed with the Fu family lightly, and rival elites would never go this far. Competition among dynasties was normal, but only sworn enemies would resort to such ruthlessness.
Fu Hongan was boiling with rage and shame, but the fallout left him no time to investigate.
Summoned by Old Master Fu, he returned home to face his whole family staring him down like he was trash.
Disappointment, glee, scorn, laughter—all eyes were on him. Fu Hongan had never felt so humiliated. He bit his tongue so hard he saw red.
"Hongan, you’ve let me down."
Old Master Fu struck him several times with his cane in anger.
Kneeling on the ground, Fu Hongan endured the shame, the pain on his back not just from his grandfather’s strikes but also his father’s.
This was the first time in his life he had been physically punished by his family—and he had no right to defend himself.
The scandal was real. The setup was real.
"Father, don’t be too hard on him. Hongan is still young—mistakes happen," Fu Jingye barely hid his smirk, his eyes gleaming with schadenfreude. The second branch was eating this up. "Boys will be boys."
"That’s right, Old Master. Big deal—it’s just some guys? With our Hongan’s status, he could play with hundreds—it’s only natural."
Seriously? Who talks like that?
Fu Jingye’s wife loved stirring the pot.
Sure enough, her words made Fu Jingye, his wife, and Old Master Fu livid, while Fu Jingye’s two sons bit their lips to keep from laughing.
This was too rare. The second branch was the family’s punching bag, while Fu Hongan, the eldest grandson, was endlessly praised, making them look like trash. Now that he had finally disgraced himself, they were loving it.
They had no idea the best was still coming.
Fu Hongxiao and Fu Hongchen were watching a show when Old Master Fu suddenly called them to get hands-on experience at the company.
Fu Hongxiao had once been thrown into a snake pit by Fu Junhang, leaving him so terrified he’d tremble at the sight of a rope. Fu Hongchen wasn’t much better—a total playboy and deadweight in the Fu family. Both brothers were utterly useless, which was why, despite being adults, they had never been given the chance to train at Fu Corporation. The most Fu Jingye could do was secure them some figurehead roles in subsidiaries.
But now, Old Master Fu had personally summoned them to train at the headquarters! Did this actually mean that Fu Hongan was getting replaced as heir?
The second branch was overjoyed.
Fu Jingye and his family, however, were stunned. "Father… are you serious?"
Fu Hongan also stared in shock. Yes, he had made an unforgivable mistake this time, but was it really that serious?
"Grandfather?"
Have you lost your mind?
Fu Zhonghai was far from senile. He was genuinely furious that his favored eldest grandson had fallen into someone else’s trap. He had always felt that Fu Hongan had things too easy, and this hard fall was exactly the lesson he needed.
As for sending the two good-for-nothings from the second branch to train at the company—that was pure poetic justice.
Karma from the third branch. No, in the end, it was his own doing.
Just as Fu Hongan’s male model scandal was raging, Fu Junhang called and chewed him out.
Yes, the tables were turned—the son scolding the father.
That disrespectful son, Fu Junhang, called him a senile old man, accused him of being blind and letting Fu Hongan grow overconfident, which led to this epic humiliation. He even blamed him for not giving the two deadweights from the second branch any opportunities, which supposedly fueled Fu Hongan’s arrogance and eventual downfall.
In short, Fu Hongan’s mistake was this old man’s fault.
The nerve!
Fu Zhonghai almost passed out from anger at this absurd reasoning.
Even if he were to consider it, hadn’t this disrespectful son always kept his nose out of Fu family affairs? Even if Fu Corporation’s reputation was dragged through the mud, since when did he care?
Yet, out of nowhere, this rebellious son had decided to meddle.
"You know full well those two from your second brother’s family are useless. Sending them to the headquarters would be nothing but trouble!"
Old Master Fu trembled with anger.
"That’s exactly my point," the disrespectful son said like it was obvious. "I want them to cause chaos in Fu Corporation—give Fu Hongan some trouble. How else will he grow?"
"At the very least, if Fu Hongan really turns out to be a washout, do you want Fu Corporation to have no successor?"
"So at least try to shape up those two losers. What if there’s still hope?"
"What a mess!"
In the end, Fu Zhonghai agreed—not because he believed the disrespectful son’s words, but because he feared what even more trouble the rebellious son might stir up if he refused.
Fu Zhonghai strongly suspected that the eldest grandson’s scandal was the doing of this disrespectful son. After all, he had the capability. What he couldn’t understand was why—what had Fu Hongan done to provoke him?
Fu Hongan was equally baffled.
But the worst part for him wasn’t the shareholders’ impeachment, nor the two deadweights from his uncle’s family entering the company, nor even the damage to Fu Corporation’s reputation.
It was Chu Xiuyi.
This was the first time he had ever fallen for someone. Fu Hongan had truly believed this was love, the person he wanted to spend his life with. Yet now, he had betrayed him.
Xiao Yi said that cheating was cheating. Even if he had been framed, the damage to their relationship was real—a fracture that couldn’t be fixed.
Now, Xiao Yi wanted to break up.
But in three days, they were supposed to attend a dating show together.
Fu Hongan had planned to publicly announce their relationship on the show, to portray them as a sweet couple endorsing Fu Corporation. He had so many follow-up plans.
Now, everything was in chaos. Everything was ruined. So who the hell did this?!
Don’t mess with Chu Yan. It’s just that simple, really. Just leave him the hell alone and you’ll be safe.
The hypocrisy of Xiao Yi is disgusting. Cheating is cheating but he entangled with Yan’s fiance…?
