Chapter 32 Not Allowed?
byChapter 32: Is That Not Allowed?
Now that it's the apocalypse, with superpowered individuals and zombies, what's so strange about having a cultivation genius from the cultivation world?
It's likely Mo Qi simply hadn't had the chance to encounter such books before; otherwise, he would have mastered these skills long ago!
"Mo Qi, you're truly amazing!"
Mo Xiu couldn't help but praise him, his natural trust in men making him completely overlook how Mo Qi managed to understand the contents. Without waiting for Mo Qi to explain further, he eagerly grabbed the backpack and started filling it.
He stuffed one item after another, cramming everything he could see and fit through the backpack's opening.
But even after all that, the backpack wasn't completely full, and it still felt incredibly light when he lifted it, which made him extremely excited.
He had put quite a lot into the backpack; if it were an ordinary storage tool, it would have filled several large suitcases.
This meant that with this backpack, they could carry much more supplies in the future.
This wasn't just any ordinary backpack; it was practically a divine tool for surviving the apocalypse!
"Mo Qi, you're a true genius! With this backpack, we won't have to worry about carrying more supplies anymore!"
Mo Xiu's face was filled with genuine joy. Mo Qi, who had been dissatisfied with the new array he had drawn, saw Mo Xiu's excitement and realized that perhaps his array wasn't as bad as he thought. His mood improved significantly.
Hearing those few words of praise from Mo Xiu, Mo Qi felt happier than he ever did when obtaining a high-quality magical artifact in the past.
He immediately said enthusiastically, "If you like it, I can create more of these arrays and attach them to other bags to expand their space. Then we can each have one and carry even more things."
However, upon hearing this, Mo Xiu shook his head: "No need, one is enough for now."
It wasn't that he didn't want more mystical backpacks. It's just that such useful items would attract too much attention if there were too many of them. If others found out that Mo Qi was the one who made them, he would become an even bigger target.
Thinking about it now, there were quite a few things about Mo Qi that required his concern. The fact that Mo Qi was immune to the zombie virus and possessed a rare psychic superpower already worried him greatly.
And now, on top of that, he had this ability to draw magical arrays and talismans.
Mo Qi's uniqueness was far too obvious. If other people with ill intentions found out, they would undoubtedly do everything in their power to capture him and uncover more of his secrets.
At this thought, Mo Xiu’s expression turned grim, though he didn't think Mo Qi having these abilities was a bad thing. In the apocalypse, power is what matters most for survival.
But before they grew strong enough to protect themselves, it was best to keep these sharp edges hidden for now.
As for the others in their team, Mo Xiu wasn’t planning to tell them for the time being.
When it came to Mo Qi's safety, aside from himself, Mo Xiu couldn't yet fully trust anyone else—not even Cheng Cheng or Lu Pingwan.
"Aside from this backpack, don't tell anyone else about these abilities of yours either," Mo Xiu warned him.
Hearing this, Mo Qi nodded, thinking to himself that Mo Xiu was indeed cautious in every way—he’d heard this kind of advice from him before.
But he also understood that Mo Xiu was only looking out for him.
Mo Xiu clearly knew what these abilities represented in the apocalypse, yet he showed no greed or jealousy. Toward Mo Qi, he only felt pure joy and a desire to protect—this was something Mo Qi had never experienced before.
In his thousands of years in the cultivation world, he had never encountered someone like Mo Xiu.
Perhaps others had, but Mo Qi had never been that lucky with people.
Even the demonic cultivators who followed him had their own agendas, merely fearing his immense power or hoping to gain more benefits from him.
With these thoughts, Mo Qi felt a strange flutter in his chest as he faced the person before him.
This version of Mo Xiu was so special that he was even more unwilling to let him go.
He truly wished to make Mo Xiu completely his—this person belonged to him! No one else should even think of competing for him!
However, Mo Qi was unwilling to use soul imprints or puppetry spells to control Mo Xiu.
Mo Xiu was special to him; what he cherished was this spontaneous affection.
For the first time, Mo Qi felt such complicated, hard-to-handle feelings toward someone. He sighed to himself and, following his heart, stepped forward to embrace Mo Xiu.
He nuzzled into Mo Xiu's neck and whispered softly, "I get it. I won't tell anyone else—just you."
Hearing this, Mo Xiu finally smiled. He knew that once Mo Qi made a promise, he would keep his word faithfully—this reliability surpassed that of most people he had met.
After holding each other for a while, Mo Qi remembered that aside from preparing the backpack with the spell array that expands space, he had also made protective charms for Mo Xiu.
"By the way, Mo Xiu, here’s this talisman for you. Keep it safe—it’s very powerful and will definitely protect you!"
Unlike the other talismans he had experimented with, the one he gave Mo Xiu was written in his own blood, drawn by biting his fingertip. Because of this, its magical energy was particularly strong.
Even in this world where spiritual energy was barely detectable, it could fully withstand a full-force strike from a Nascent Soul cultivator.
Originally, Mo Xiu had thought there were no cultivators in this world, but after seeing Xie Wu’s book, he wasn’t so sure anymore.
Considering that there might indeed be some hidden, powerful figures, having this talisman would give him peace of mind whenever Mo Xiu was out on his own.
Mo Xiu took the talisman and examined it carefully. Realizing that the vivid red markings were drawn in blood, his heart clenched emotionally.
He looked at Mo Qi with deep gratitude, feeling increasingly convinced of the other’s sincere care. All the care and effort he had invested in this person felt truly worthwhile.
Because of the amazing backpack earlier, Mo Xiu carefully stored the talisman in his inner pocket, deciding to keep it close to his body at all times.
"Thank you, Mo Qi. I will treasure this gift."
Mo Xiu hugged the man beside him, gently patting Mo Qi’s back and affectionate by habit.
Mo Qi loved it when Mo Xiu took the initiative and held him tightly in return. This was a common gesture between them, but though he didn't know why, this time Mo Qi felt somewhat unsatisfied.
Without thinking, he nuzzled Mo Xiu’s neck again and naturally pressed his cheek against the youth’s.
Noticing the plump, faintly pink earlobes of the person in his arms, he found them oddly tempting. After staring for a moment, he tentatively leaned in and gently took it between his lips.
"Mmm!"
Mo Xiu’s earlobes were a sensitive spot. The moment it was captured, he felt an electric jolt shoot through him.
A wave of tingling numbness washed over him, and Mo Xiu couldn’t help but let out a stifled moan. He quickly turned his head to free his ear from Mo Qi’s mouth.
Frowning, he asked Mo Qi, "What are you doing?"
Then, he met a pair of utterly innocent eyes.
Mo Qi blinked as if he didn’t understand what he had done wrong—or perhaps he was doing it on purpose.
Moreover, the sensation of having Mo Xiu’s earlobe in his mouth had been unexpectedly pleasant. The man licked his lips, still wanting more.
He didn't answer Mo Xiu's question, but instead pulled him into another hug.
This time, however, he didn't just gently nip at the earlobe as before; instead, he opened his mouth and took the entire ear into his mouth, licking and sucking on it.
The slightly cool, firm-yet-yielding feel was truly to his liking.
Mo Xiu was very big on hygiene and cleanliness, especially since there was a Water-based Superpower user like Lu Pingwan in their team, making water easily accessible.
So even in the apocalypse, Mo Xiu could still freshen up every day, smelling clean and fresh.
"Mmm..." Mo Xiu had always been off his guard around the person beside him, so when the other embraced him, although he felt somewhat puzzled, he still let Mo Qi do as he pleased.
When his ear was taken into Mo Qi’s mouth again, he was startled, but the next moment, he couldn't help but feel his whole body go weak, his breathing grew rapid, and he even let out a soft, involuntary sound.
The warmth of the other's mouth and the softness of his tongue brought him sensations that were both unfamiliar and overwhelmingly intense. Mo Xiu's legs went weak, and for a moment, he nearly stumbled.
However, he quickly jerked back to awareness and pushed the person holding him away. Covering his ear, he glared at Mo Qi with anger for the first time and said, "What are you doing to my ear!"
Unfortunately, Mo Xiu had underestimated the other’s nerve.
Mo Qi still wore a blank look, his gaze sweeping over the hand covering Mo Xiu's ear before he smiled innocently and said, "Because it tastes good."
Hearing such a response, Mo Xiu's jaw twitched. Seeing the man looking eager, as if he wanted to try again, Mo Xiu flushed from his face down to his neck, unsure whether from anger or embarrassment.
He quickly took a step back, waving his hand at Mo Qi and saying, "No, cut it out! You're not allowed to do that again!"
"Why not?"
Mo Qi wasn't truly ignorant about how people interact, but when it came to Mo Xiu, he always felt a raw, possessive urge.
Being suddenly rejected for intimacy, even though the other's objection made sense, still left him feeling somewhat displeased.
"You're asking why not? This isn't appropriate! Even among ordinary brothers or friends, this isn't something people do! I explained some of this to you before, don't you remember?"
Mo Xiu spoke irritably. After Mo Qi had asked him to kiss him last time, he had later explained to him what was acceptable between brothers and friends and what wasn't. But now, it seemed Mo Qi hadn't taken any of it to heart.
Mo Xiu's mind was in disarray, unsure how to explain it in a way that would get through to him.
He thought about how the other had never received a proper education and wondered if he could truly understand or comprehend what he was saying.
Hearing this, Mo Qi sulked. Seeing Mo Xiu glaring at him, he quickly changed his expression to one of wounded innocence.
As if he had suffered a great injustice, he said, "But I like it. I just like kissing your ear like that. Is that not allowed?"
