Chapter 13
byChapter 13
Such a clumsy seduction attempt.
Shen Yue enlarged the photo of the abs, his gaze lingering for two seconds on a mole slightly below the abdomen near a danger zone, then saved the image.
The other party seemed to have anticipated his question and sent a dozen-plus photos of abs from different angles in quick succession.
These photos featured mostly similar poses—one hand holding the phone, the other lifting the shirt. A few even showed the upper body completely bare, with powerful chest muscles fully exposed on the screen. The hand that had been holding the shirt now teasingly drifted lower, the veins bulging on the arm contrasting sharply with the clearly defined muscles, creating a series of high-impact visuals.
At the bottom edge of one photo, a drop of clear liquid—indistinguishable as sweat or water—trickled down along the muscle lines, seemingly guiding the viewer’s gaze further down, only to abruptly stop right at the dangerous zone where one more inch would risk censorship.
It was enough to stir heat in Shen Yue.
Shen Yue poured himself a glass of water and casually saved a few photos he liked: [Not showing your face because you're ugly?]
Nianbai didn’t respond to his hint this time: [A gege who shows his dick but not his face, or his face but not his dick.]
Quite cautious.
Shen Yue felt a bit disappointed and went back to review the photos again, but found no evidence of where the other party had "shown his dick."
Shen Yue: [If you’re this timid, why bother hitting on people?]
Nianbai: [It’s not hitting on you—it’s about coming onto you, gege. Would you let me come onto you?]
Men generally like sweet talkers, and Shen Yue was no exception. However, he had never been interested in such vague online relationships. Despite having just benefited from the photos, he turned dismissive: [Stop being so provocative.]
These young people nowadays—adding someone as a friend feels like applying to be a boyfriend. They have nothing better to do all day but think about hooking up with guys.
Nianbai: [I only get like this for you, gege. Don’t you like it?]
Shen Yue chuckled but didn’t respond.
Fortunately, Nianbai didn’t seem to care about his reply and soon texted a new message: [Gotta go for now, gege. I have class soon. Let’s chat later.]
Shen Yue raised an eyebrow: [A student?]
Nianbai didn’t deny it: [Ever been with a student, gege? Want to try? I’ll make you feel amazing.]
Shen Yue had never actually been with a student.
Back when he was studying, his family was strict. His elder brother, Shen Cuo, would grill him even if he came home late. Under his brother’s watchful eye, Shen Yue had no chance to fool around even if he wanted to. It was precisely because of those years of repressed, monk-like existence that Shen Yue became independent right after graduation, all to live out his natural desires as a man.
As for after graduation, Shen Yue wasn’t a predator. Although students were indeed innocent and pure, their priority should be studying. How could he bring himself to mess with them?
There was one person who was almost a student—Wei Jinchuan, who had just graduated from university this year. But his technique was lacking and his movements were rushed, which made Shen Yue quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, his face and physique were decent, and his stamina was acceptable, so Shen Yue didn’t come out too badly.
Shen Yue had always kept his distance from students, not only to avoid corrupting the nation's youth but also to avoid trouble. But now, with this one offering himself up...
To put it bluntly, why turn down free delivery?
Shen Yue exited to his photo gallery to once again admire the other party’s muscles and asked an unrelated question: [Where are you studying? Shouldn’t you be eating or in class at this hour?]
Nianbai: [I’m abroad, gege.]
Abroad. Shen Yue felt a pang of regret for this tasty morsel that had come to his lips but remained out of reach, suddenly losing interest in responding.
He checked Nianbai’s profile—the location showed Germany. His interest immediately wilted.
[Students should focus on their studies. Don’t waste your energy on this sketchy stuff. Be careful not to fail graduation.]
After sending the message, Shen Yue lost interest in guessing the other party’s identity. He directly blocked and deleted the contact, reporting the account for "sharing explicit content."
***
September in Haicheng was always sweltering.
Wei Jinchuan deliberately went down to the first floor a few minutes before the lunch break.
The office was air-conditioned, and his thin shirt kept him comfortably cool. Outside, the sun was blazing, and the man in the suit was already sweating, but he seemed oblivious, walking briskly to the reception desk and placing a thermos of soup on it.
"Same as before—deliver this to President Shen."
Zhong Yuan smiled politely at the receptionist, revealing two cute dimples that gave him a somewhat youthful, innocent air, easily making people like him.
The receptionist remembered him well: Since Shenghua was founded, many people had sent gifts to their boss under various pretexts, but he was the first whom the boss had specifically instructed to allow upstairs. It was hard to forget.
The receptionist stood up, took the bag, and returned the smile. "Of course, I’ll deliver the soup right away."
Zhong Yuan nodded and turned to leave but felt an intense stare fixed on him.
Sensitive to such looks, he frowned and looked back, only to see a young face.
The owner of that face was tall and exceptionally handsome. His features were gentle and refined, giving the impression of a college student who hadn’t been beaten down by life yet, with an undeniable charm that made one want to keep looking.
—If one ignored the open challenge in his eyes.
Zhong Yuan found it hard to feel any goodwill toward the man before him. Perhaps it was a case of opposites repel, but from the first glance, he felt an intense discomfort, challenging even his good upbringing and tempting him to make some biting remarks.
"Hello."
In the end, rationality prevailed. Zhong Yuan extended his hand with a tight smile. "Do I know you, sir? What’s your name?"
The man glanced down at his hand but made no move to shake it. "Wei Jinchuan."
Wei Jinchuan.
Almost instantly upon hearing the name, Zhong Yuan smoothly pulled back his hand. He finally understood where his aversion came from—it wasn’t his upbringing at fault, but the man himself.
Honestly, he had never actually met Wei Jinchuan before, nor had they interacted. But Haicheng was a small place, and anyone who had been with Shen Yue or had a thing for him would be familiar with that name.
A detestable name.
Wei Jinchuan had never offended him or anyone else, but he was the one Shen Yue had pursued for three months. During those three months, countless men who dreamed of sleeping with Shen Yue couldn’t even catch a glimpse of him, leaving many heartbroken.
To put it bluntly, it was pure jealousy.
Zhong Yuan made no effort to hide his envy, staring at Wei Jinchuan with clear hostility. "Not living up to the hype, Mr. Wei. Is there something you need?"
Wei Jinchuan asked, "You’re not an employee of our company."
"No," Zhong Yuan pointed to the soup on the reception desk, smiling warmly. "I’m just here to deliver something."
Wei Jinchuan disliked his smile. "Shenghua doesn’t entertain outsiders or accept items of unknown origin."
Compared to Zhong Yuan’s fake pleasant act, Wei Jinchuan’s malice was unfiltered, especially when he emphasized the words "unknown origin," as if afraid Zhong Yuan would miss his pointed remark.
But Zhong Yuan had spent time around Shen Yue after all. Though his time there was brief, he had encountered plenty of shrewd rich kids and bosses in the past. How could he be cowed by some words?
He kept smiling, appearing completely unfazed by Wei Jinchuan's words, his manner and words perfectly proper. "Mr. Shen asked me to deliver it."
When Wei Jinchuan heard the words "Mr. Shen," though it was a perfectly normal form of address, it grated on his ears, digging in like a splinter.
He felt it necessary to take action, especially against someone who harbored such fanciful ideas toward Shen Yue, dared to provoke him openly, and never learned their lesson.
Wei Jinchuan pressed his lips together, and even Zhong Yuan's smiling face grated on him. He said, "I already talked to Shen Yue. He said he doesn’t want it anymore from now on."
Zhong Yuan’s expression stiffened.
Wei Jinchuan, who had been watching him closely the entire time, certainly didn’t miss the change in his expression. With a mix of triumph and malice, he added, "And don’t come hanging around our company for no reason from now on. Shenghua isn’t some place anyone can just wander into. What if something turns up missing? Could you take responsibility?"
Though it was still summer, Zhong Yuan felt a sudden chill wash over him.
His smile was starting to slip, but he maintained his composure, forcing a smile as he said, "Did Mr. Shen ask you to relay this message?"
"Does he need to tell you that himself?" Wei Jinchuan sneered. "You’re a grown man. Don’t you have anything better to do than hang around someone else’s workplace trying to hit on their boss? Have you no shame?"
It was nearly lunchtime, and many employees were taking the elevator down to eat. Delivery workers were also dropping off orders at the front desk. Their arguing drew a crowd, and whispers swirled around them from all directions, flooding their ears like a tidal wave.
Zhong Yuan was a dignified person. He had never been the subject of public scrutiny like this before, and the embarrassment made his ears burn red.
He tried to remain calm as he addressed Wei Jinchuan, "Mr. Wei, I think there might be some misunderstanding between us."
Wei Jinchuan snapped back viciously, "Misunderstand my ass."
"..."
Zhong Yuan’s smile finally fell.
As more and more onlookers gathered, Zhong Yuan grew frantic to defend himself. But just then, a sudden stir came from nearby, and in the next moment, Shen Yue, surrounded by a few associates, walked briskly over.
Seeing the two in a standoff, he froze for a moment, then immediately turned to retreat back toward the elevator.
Unexpectedly, Zhong Yuan spotted him sharp-eyed and called out as if spotting a lifeline, "Mr. Shen!"
Shen Yue halted in his tracks, and all the surrounding eyes turned toward him.
