Chapter 47: Call Me ‘Husband’
by 冰雹酥酥Chapter 47: Call Me 'Husband'
Two weeks later, Ke Lin found Jiang Yi in a remote small town.
When the war began, the town mayor, seeing how the wind was blowing, had pledged allegiance early to the Wild Wolf Corps. To demonstrate his sincerity, he went above and beyond in enforcing the new president’s decrees.
All ten-odd Espers in the town had been placed under his strict surveillance.
He didn’t let outsiders off the hook either.
“You say you want to vouch for this Esper named Jiang Yi?”
“Yes.”
“You’d better think twice. Our great werewolf president has ordered them kept under watch for five years. If you take him back and something happens, you’ll be on the hook as well,” the guard said.
“I know. Can you take me to see him now?” Ke Lin’s patience was wearing thin.
“Alright, come with me to fill out the paperwork. Remember to pay the guarantee fee.”
After registering, Ke Lin looked at the amount on the paper—it was ten times higher than the legally stipulated fee.
He was in no mood to argue with the guard, so he drained his account. Finally, he got to see Jiang Yi.
Jiang Yi was locked in a specially designed small room that looked like a youth hostel.
He had an Esper control collar around his neck, and the communication device on his wrist had long since disappeared.
“Master…”
The moment Ke Lin saw Jiang Yi, his eyes welled up instantly.
It was like a bird that had wandered for years finally returning to its nest. Ke Lin only felt truly alive and whole when he was with his master.
Jiang Yi looked up at him. Ke Lin was silhouetted against the light, the evening sun outlining his figure with a golden edge.
Jiang Yi blinked and smiled. “Little Wolf, you’ve finally come.”
Hearing the familiar nickname, Ke Lin’s heart twisted with a sharp, overwhelming sense of sorrow and hurt. He stifled a sob and threw himself into Jiang Yi’s arms.
Jiang Yi had been sitting on the edge of the bed and was sent sprawling onto it by Ke Lin’s tackle.
He reached out and hugged Ke Lin back, rubbing his back soothingly, as he always did.
Neither of them spoke, quietly savoring this long-awaited moment of reunion.
Jiang Yi felt dampness on his shoulder—Little Wolf was actually crying.
A large patch on his shoulder was soaked with tears. In his memory, Little Wolf had never cried like this before.
“Alright, baby, don’t cry. I’m right here, aren’t I? Be good.”
Jiang Yi gently pushed Ke Lin away and saw his Little Wolf’s face streaked with tears. Heart aching, he wiped them away.
This was the first time Ke Lin had been called “baby” by his master outside of bed. He felt a bit shy, his eyes red yet sparkling as he looked at Jiang Yi, slowly leaning in to bring his lips closer.
The moment their lips touched, all the accumulated longing from these days poured out completely. The two kissed deeply and passionately.
“Ahem…”
The guard at the door had seen enough.
No wonder this werewolf was in such a hurry—he paid the sky-high bail fee without even batting an eye.
Ke Lin, his face flushed, pulled back. "Master, let's go rest at a nearby hotel first, okay? We can fly back tomorrow."
"Alright."
Jiang Yi stood up, and a heavy, dull clank of chains made both of them look over.
A thick black chain extended from the head of the bed, shackled to Jiang Yi's ankle.
Ke Lin immediately shot an angry glare at the guard. "You actually dared to chain him? I remember the presidential decree clearly stating that human Espers are to be treated humanely."
The guard shrank back, frightened by Ke Lin's gaze. He didn't recognize Ke Lin. Since the werewolves came to power, Tian Rui and Hera's images had frequently appeared in major reports, while the Deputy Leader, who had performed outstandingly during the war, had kept a remarkably low profile.
After regaining his composure, the guard immediately puffed out his chest. "Why are you getting so aggressive? We're doing this for the safety of society. If these Espers rebelled and brought the Wild Wolf Corps down on us, do you have any idea how serious the consequences would be?"
"Enough nonsense. I've already signed the bail agreement. Unshackle him."
Reluctantly, the guard unlocked the chain. Fortunately, both of these people were outsiders and would be leaving in a few days. Having one less Esper to worry about while earning a hefty bail fee was a win no matter how you looked at it.
Ke Lin took Jiang Yi to the best hotel in the town.
On the way, Ke Lin tried to remove Jiang Yi's Restraint Collar but, for some reason, couldn't get it off no matter how hard he tried.
Ke Lin noticed that Jiang Yi's collar was different from the ones issued uniformly by the government. He suspected that the bootlicking town mayor had piled on extra restrictions.
Jiang Yi held his hand. "Don't worry. I have a way to remove it once we get back."
Ke Lin nodded. Once they returned, he would definitely report this situation to his father.
The werewolf policies were originally well-intentioned, but if those below distorted their execution, it wouldn't achieve the original goals. Instead, it would only incite rebellion among the human Espers.
Of course, all of that could wait. Being with his master again was the most important thing now.
Jiang Yi looked at Ke Lin and himself and suddenly laughed.
It reminded him of when he first brought Ke Lin home—one bound in restraints, the other paying to redeem him. The roles of guarantor and the guaranteed had quietly swapped.
After entering the hotel room, Jiang Yi said out of the blue, "Master."
Ke Lin thought he'd misheard and looked at him in disbelief.
Jiang Yi smiled as he approached Ke Lin, pressing him against the hotel wall adorned with retro patterns.
Despite being in the dominant position, he deliberately took Ke Lin's hand and placed it on his own collar, speaking in a low, husky voice, "Master, you can do anything you want to me now."
After a moment of stunned silence, Ke Lin caught on.
The gentleness in his gaze since seeing Jiang Yi instantly transformed into a possessive desire.
One hand caressed the back of Jiang Yi's neck as his lips pressed against his, deepening the kiss that had been interrupted earlier.
The other hand slipped into Jiang Yi's shirt, eagerly and vigorously stroking his skin.
Jiang Yi, addicted to the roleplay, deliberately gasped a few times. "Master, don't rush. Let's move to the bed."
Even as they fell onto the bed, Jiang Yi remained underneath.
Ke Lin gazed down at Jiang Yi, a perspective he seldom had when he was sober.
Jiang Yi's hair had grown long from neglect, messily covering his eyes and blunting the sharpness in his brows and gaze, lending him an innocent, almost adorable air.
The custom black collar around his neck rendered his S-level abilities useless.
He looked like a delicate, exquisite doll freshly bought from a display case, ready to be savored.
Ke Lin felt his blood run hot, his Adam's apple unconsciously bobbing. He leaned close to Jiang Yi's ear, overcome with desire. "Master, I love you."
"I love you too," Jiang Yi whispered in response.
As another fierce kiss deepened, Ke Lin lowered himself onto Jiang Yi.
...
Too much time apart had turned their longing into a fiery, explosive passion.
...
"Master, help me..."
Jiang Yi was determined to be hands-off tonight, letting Little Wolf explore on his own.
But Little Wolf lacked experience and couldn't find the right angle.
Even though the fire was right before him, Ke Lin always seemed one step away.
A sheen of sweat had broken out on Jiang Yi's temples too. He swept his damp bangs back, revealing his smooth forehead.
Under the moonlight, his bright black eyes made him look more like a wild wolf than Ke Lin did.
As Ke Lin leaned in, Jiang Yi whispered seductively in his ear, "Call me 'husband,' and I'll help you."
Ke Lin's eyes were hazy; he felt as if he were drowning in his master's gaze. At that moment, he would say anything.
"Husband... please..."
The storm in Jiang Yi's eyes deepened. He couldn't help but grit his teeth—Ke Lin's expression was too alluring!
...
Outside the hotel, the sky grew darker, then gradually lightened to the pale glow of dawn.
By the time the sun set for the second day, their panting finally subsided.
The sheets and covers beneath them were a mess. They lay in bed, holding each other as they rested for a moment.
As it turned out, even when Ke Lin was "on top," his lower back and legs still felt weak and spent afterward.
In fact, because he was "on top," Ke Lin felt even more exhausted than before.
Leaning against Jiang Yi's arm, Ke Lin didn't want to get up, but they were too dirty and had to clean themselves.
Jiang Yi got out of bed first and carried Ke Lin straight to the bathroom.
Even though they were alone in the room, being carried about like this by his master made Ke Lin blush all the way to the tips of his ears. He buried his face in the crook of Jiang Yi's shoulder.
Warm water cascaded over their bodies.
No one knew who started it first, but the two got tangled up again.
"You still want to be on top, Master?"
This was said by Jiang Yi.
"Yes..."
Ke Lin pressed Jiang Yi into the bathtub assertively, leaning close to his ear and whispering, mimicking his teasing tone. "I’ll get more and more skilled."
Water ran in the bathroom for a full three hours.
…
Ke Lin had booked a suite with two bedrooms.
After their "battle" shower, completely drained of energy, they went straight to the other bedroom to sleep.
As high-level Espers, their physical capabilities were enhanced several times over. Sometimes, they could go days without eating without much effect.
So when Jiang Yi and Ke Lin finally woke up, it was already the afternoon of the third day.
Ke Lin rubbed his eyes and crawled out from under the covers, half-sat against the headboard.
Watching Jiang Yi, still fast asleep with his eyes closed, he felt a satisfaction he had never known before.
His master was finally back.
Jiang Yi’s eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes. Seeing Little Wolf gazing at him affectionately, he smiled and said sleepily, "Morning, dear Little Wolf."
"Morning, Master."
Ke Lin slipped back under the covers and shared a soft, brief kiss with Jiang Yi.
"Don't you think we should be heading back?" Jiang Yi said.
"Yeah, I bought tickets." As he spoke, Ke Lin took out his phone to check the seat numbers.
Suddenly, he remembered something. "Wait, the flight I booked was for yesterday—no, the day before yesterday. It’s long gone by now."
Once they hit the bed, they lost all track of time—who remembered flights!
Jiang Yi also chuckled. "Not only has the plane taken off, it’s probably already flown back. Looks like Little Wolf will have to buy tickets again. My communicator is lost."
Ke Lin quickly opened his communicator and booked the flight tickets.
Only now did he finally have a chance to ask, "Master, why were you here? I couldn’t find you when I went to the Federal Research Institute, and why couldn’t I unlock your collar?"
"Let me explain it to you slowly."
