Chapter 29
byChapter 29
As the car pulled into the garage, the smart lights came on, illuminating everything. Rong Yu'an was about to unbuckle his seatbelt when Gu Shenhan stopped him, saying, "Don't rush."
Rong Yu'an looked at him, puzzled, waiting for him to continue.
Gu Shenhan hesitated for a moment before asking, "Why are you so reluctant to take the antibody test? Did they do something terrible to you at the forensic institute that day?"
He hadn't been allowed to sit in on the interview, so he had no idea what had actually happened inside. Later, when Rong Yu'an came out, Gu Shenhan hadn't dared to ask again, afraid of stirring up bad memories. He'd only wanted to shift Rong Yu'an's focus elsewhere.
But logically, if it was just a few ordinary questions, it shouldn't have scared him so much.
"It's nothing," Rong Yu'an said. "They just asked a lot of questions. I just didn't know what the next question would be, so I was a little nervous. And like I said, I'll go tomorrow. I'll take that test tomorrow."
"No." Gu Shenhan frowned slightly, gazing at Rong Yu'an. He saw a faint smile on his lips, appearing to have accepted it, but his eyes were full of unease and fear. This wasn't the expression of someone looking forward to being intimate with their lover—it was more like… like he'd given up and was prepared for the worst.
Rong Yu'an grew nervous under his gaze. "Husband?"
Gu Shenhan said, "It doesn't matter what the test results are. If you have antibodies, good. If not, we'll get the vaccine."
Rong Yu'an nodded.
Gu Shenhan sighed, got out of the car, walked around to the other side, unbuckled Rong Yu'an's seatbelt, and pulled him out. "An An, are you afraid of the test itself, or something else? I keep feeling like you're hiding something from me."
Rong Yu'an lowered his head. "I'm afraid you won't want me. I don't want a divorce. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Not just as family—I want to be your wife."
His tone was unusually serious, so serious that Gu Shenhan was a little taken aback. Then he laughed. "Then don't you have to fulfill your duties as a wife?"
Rong Yu'an looked up at him, then pulled him upstairs.
Gu Shenhan thought he was being dragged straight to the bedroom, but instead he was led to his walk-in closet. Rong Yu'an unbuttoned his shirt, took off his watch, hung up what needed hanging, and placed everything neatly.
Was this… serving him while he changed?
Then Rong Yu'an stood there, not moving, and asked, "Should I run you a bath? Do you want to shower first? Or should I have them prepare dinner?"
"You're playing dumb on purpose, aren't you?"
"No." Rong Yu'an pointed out the window. "It's still light outside."
"And what if it's dark?"
"Then we'll talk when it's dark."
With a faint smile, he left the third floor.
Gu Shenhan's appetite was instantly whetted. An unprecedented sense of anticipation filled his heart. He went back to his study, smoked a cigarette to calm himself, then went to take a shower.
Rong Yu'an managed to keep his cool going downstairs, but the moment he entered the bedroom, he panicked. He quickly pulled out his phone and messaged Teacher Dolphin:
"Teacher, what should I do on the wedding night so that my husband will truly enjoy being with me?"
Delete! Too shameless!
"Teacher, what should I keep in mind on the wedding night?"
Delete! Even more shameless!
"Teacher, is there any way to get pregnant on the first try?"
Teacher Dolphin gave him an answer, but he couldn't understand most of it. What's a test strip? What's ovulation?
Out of all the replies, only one thing stuck with him—prop up the hips higher.
He checked the time, took a shower, and made himself smell nice with a jasmine scent. After blow-drying his hair, he stood by the window and prayed to the Goddess of Fertility.
Everything was ready. All he needed was the east wind.
But when would the east wind arrive?
By then, the "east wind" had already showered and opened a drawer to pull out a bunch of little raincoats. He looked around the bedroom, felt something was missing, and quickly called for the butler.
Rong Yu'an hugged a pillow and waited in the room for a full two hours, torn between going upstairs himself or waiting for Gu Shenhan to come down. He felt that going up on his own would be too forward and improper.
Though he didn't have much dignity left anyway.
Maybe he should just wait. But two or three hours were too long!
Knock, knock.
Rong Yu'an stopped short. "Who is it?"
Aunt Lu said, "Young Master Rong, I've brought your folded clothes."
Rong Yu'an was a bit disappointed. He set the pillow aside and said, "Come in, Aunt Lu."
Suddenly, everything went quiet outside. Aunt Lu didn't come in either.
Rong Yu'an found it odd and opened the door. "Ah—!"
Before he could process it, he was scooped up into Gu Shenhan's arms!
Not a bridal carry—he was held upright like a child, perched on Gu Shenhan's arm, his view suddenly rose!
"Husband, put me down! Where's Aunt Lu?"
"She's making the bed for us."
"Making… making the bed?"
"Yeah, I can't wait a whole year, but I don't want to be too casual either. After all, it's our first time…"
"Don't say it!" Rong Yu'an covered Gu Shenhan's mouth. He noticed they weren't heading to the master bedroom. "Where are we going? Put me down!"
Gu Shenhan stopped at the study door. He opened it with one hand, went inside, set Rong Yu'an down, and pressed him against the door, kissing him softly.
Not serious kisses—just pecking at Rong Yu'an's body, leaving marks as if to claim him.
Rong Yu'an felt the places where he'd been kissed were damp and warm, a little ticklish. But soon those spots grew cool, and he wanted more warmth.
He grabbed Gu Shenhan's shirt hem, tilted his face up slightly, and saw Gu Shenhan stop kissing him, his eyes wet and glistening.
The sight was enough to ignite desire. Gu Shenhan caressed Rong Yu'an's back, his hand gradually slipping inside his waistband…
Rong Yu'an lowered his head, his cheeks blazing. But Gu Shenhan was mischievous—while caressing him, he gently lifted his chin, refusing to let him hide.
"An An, why is your body so hot?"
"No, it's not." Rong Yu'an mumbled softly.
When he could no longer hold back, he let out a soft moan. Gu Shenhan stroked his lips and picked him up again.
As he opened the door, Rong Yuan heard Aunt Lu’s voice. He couldn’t help burying his face in Gu Shenhan’s arms, feeling as if his whole body was on fire!
He couldn't show his face to anyone now!
Gu Shenhan carried him into the master bedroom and set him on the bed. "Why are you hiding? Embarrassed?"
Rong Yuan sneaked a peek to see if Aunt Lu had left, then suddenly froze. The entire bedroom had been redecorated—red bed linens, red flowers, candles, and even the bed was covered in soft pink petals.
It smelled wonderful. He grabbed a handful, but there were only petals. He felt around for more, but found nothing else, and couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.
Gu Shenhan said, "I knew you’d do that."
Rong Yuan: "Huh?"
Gu Shenhan took out a delivery bag, an enormous one, that was surprisingly heavy.
Without opening it, Gu Shenhan handed it to Rong Yuan. "Here, you spread it yourself."
Rong Yuan opened it and was instantly overjoyed. Inside were red dates and peanuts, as well as longans and sunflower seeds!
See? The guy he liked really was the best!
Rong Yuan was as happy as a bee that had stumbled onto a giant pollen clump, as if about to buzz with joy.
He opened the bag himself to check if everything was clean. After confirming, he scattered them directly onto the bed, then threw himself onto Gu Shenhan. "Husband, you’re the best!"
Gu Shenhan caught him steadily, pulled him closer, and gently sucked his earlobe. "No crying later, okay?"
Rong Yuan pulled away from the warmth and ticklish feeling, his gently lowered eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings. "I won’t."
Gu Shenhan kissed Rong Yuan’s brows and eyes, unbuttoned his clothes, and gazed wantonly at every part of his body.
His little husband was as white as mutton-fat jade, except for a light pink cotton rose just above his buttocks on his lower back.
Gu Shenhan traced it thoughtfully. "Is this tattooed?"
Rong Yuan didn’t quite understand. "Husband, I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Gu Shenhan figured it might have been tattooed before the accident and Rong Yuan didn’t remember, so he said, "Nothing. This spot is perfect—only I can see it."
Rong Yuan said, "It can change color, and only you can make it happen."
"What do you mean?"
"I won’t tell you. You’ll know when you see it later." Rong Yuan turned around, hooked his arms around Gu Shenhan’s neck, and gave him a kiss. Their hot breaths mingled and swirled around them.
Gu Shenhan opened the nightstand and took out a small square foil packet. Rong Yuan had never seen one before, so he asked curiously, "What’s this?"
Gu Shenhan said, "Something good for us both."
Rong Yuan didn’t understand at all, but when he wanted to ask, Gu Shenhan no longer gave him a chance. He was slowly opened up, and a strange pain mixed with a peculiar sense of fulfillment took over his mind.
His mind could no longer think. Amid sobs and moans, he grabbed a full handful of petals.
Han Ge got a taste of a ger. 🤭🤭🤭
