Chapter 115: The Cruise Ship - Sunfall

    [Don't be afraid, my child.]

Lamia gently embraced Everly, her long serpentine tail soothingly brushing against the back of her hand.

It was a deeply nostalgic embrace, heavy with the scent of the sea.

Everly's nose prickled, and tears once again welled up and spilled from her eyes.

But there was no time for her to cry now.

Almost the moment Lamia appeared, the massive fish-man creature had already sensed the anomalous aura of the Sea Hag. It raised one of its forelimbs, pointing directly at the embracing mother and daughter, and opened its mouth, unleashing a chest-thumping roar like war drums beating in unison.

    "ROAR!"

    "ROAR! ROAR!"

The white monsters surrounding them received the command. Over a thousand of them surfaced from the sea simultaneously, responding to their great master, lifting their grotesque heads and letting loose a chorus of howls at Everly and the Sea Hag.

The next moment, towering waves surged and water splashed. Led by the fish-man creature, countless bloated, corpse-like water monsters paddled with webbed feet and lunged forward, like a volley of arrows streaking toward the mother and daughter in the water.

The Sea Hag released Everly from her embrace. With a sweep of her long tail, she charged at the oncoming monsters, spreading her arms wide and lifting her chin slightly.

A dazzling radiance flared. Everly looked up and, stunned, saw a figure both familiar and unfamiliar rise from the ground, with the hag at its core.

It was a remarkably beautiful woman.

She wore a crown and held a scepter. Her upper body was human, while her lower half was a serpentine tail adorned with emerald-green scales.

The woman's face was so perfect it seemed touched by the goddess of beauty. Her skin was whiter and smoother than milk, and her crimson eyes gleamed like two translucent red gems. Curly, seaweed-like black hair cascaded from her shoulders, partially veiling her chest.

Although the woman's upper body was bare, no one who witnessed this sight would harbor the slightest improper thought, for she radiated a dazzling brilliance that blended maternal grace with divine sanctity.

Her colossal form hovered between illusion and substance, her towering figure nearly piercing the dark clouds above. She coiled her serpentine tail in front of Everly, bent slightly at the waist, and hunched her upper body in fury—like a dragon guarding its precious treasure. She glared down defiantly at the monsters that blanketed the entire sea before her, opened her mouth, and let out an earth-shattering shriek:

    "AH—"
