Chapter 213
byChapter 213
The helicopter flew over the mountains, with the ocean below. The dark, ink-like seawater churned under the airplane lights. Under Yan Bu Bu's control, the helicopter finally turned around clumsily and headed back towards the central city.
Chen Sizhe's use of a special injection gave him explosive power and strength to match Feng Chen. Their punches and kicks in the cabin caused the aircraft to sway from side to side.
Listening to the sounds of the fight, Yan Bu Bu was eager to help, but knew the plane would lose control if he left the stick, so he gripped it tightly, constantly glancing back.
When he looked back again, he saw Feng Chen and Chen Sizhe lying at the cabin door, with half of Feng Chen's body dangling outside, almost causing Yan Bu Bu to rush over in fright.
"It's okay, you keep flying, quickly head to the wilderness," Feng Chen said as he punched at Chen Sizhe, and as Chen Sizhe dodged, Feng Chen rolled back into the cabin.
"Faster, faster, faster..." Yan Bu Bu murmured, eyes fixed ahead.
The plane finally crossed the sea to reach the mountain top, but Yan Bu Bu realized the rotor's creaking was slowing down, and the plane began to descend.
He peeked out of the cabin door and was horrified to see that one of the rotor blades was missing, leaving only three slowly turning.
As the helicopter lost altitude and started tilting to the right, Yan Bu Bu desperately pulled the control stick to the left, trying to stabilize it.
But the plane quickly tilted nearly ninety degrees, and Feng Chen and Chen Sizhe slid to the right side of the cabin, continuing their fight there.
Seeing the nose about to hit the highest peak, Yan Bu Bu pushed the control stick left to its limit and then pushed it up as hard as he could.
Binunu roared in his psychic realm, instructing him to break off a piece of the seat, climb to the top of the helicopter, and fix the rotor to make the aircraft fly.
With Yan Bu Bu's efforts, the plane slightly righted itself and rose a few meters, narrowly grazing the mountain peak and half-sliding, half-flying towards the wilderness.
Just as they entered the wilderness, Yan Bu Bu saw Chen Sizhe's men chasing below, following the helicopter's direction. The rotor made one final creaking noise before stopping completely, the engine emitted thick smoke, and flames entered through the open cabin door.
Yan Bu Bu abandoned the helicopter controls, retrieved a metal rod of unknown purpose from under a seat, and staggered into the cabin.
Suddenly, the engine emitted a loud noise, and the helicopter stopped gliding forward and started to spiral downward.
Chen Sizhe and Feng Chen, pressed against the cabin wall, simultaneously looked towards the engine at the sound and then quickly turned back, throwing a punch at each other.
"Brother…" Yan Bu Bu coughed loudly as he walked forward.
After two more explosions, the tail to the belly of the plane broke apart. Feng Chen, no longer hesitating, kicked Chen Sizhe back a few steps and then went to grab Yan Bu Bu.
Yan Bu Bu seized the opportunity, swinging the metal rod and viciously striking at the back of Chen Sizhe's head.
Chen Sizhe, focused entirely on Feng Chen, was unprepared for an attack from behind and was squarely hit by Yan Bu Bu.
Using all his strength, Yan Bu Bu's rod flew off as he hit Chen Sizhe's head, numbing his arms. Chen Sizhe's scalp split open, revealing a slightly indented skull underneath.
Chen Sizhe, with no time to attend to his wound, lunged towards the open cabin. Feng Chen, with Yan Bu Bu under his arm, leaped out of the cabin.
They were about three to four stories high from the ground. As they fell, Feng Chen held Yan Bu Bu horizontally in his arms.
Despite the rapid descent, Yan Bu Bu felt secure in Feng Chen's grasp. Two seconds later, Feng Chen landed steadily and rushed forward with Yan Bu Bu. Behind them, a massive explosion erupted, and the entire helicopter, including the suitcase full of injections, was blown apart.
Yan Bu Bu rolled on the ground in Feng Chen's arms, still dazed. Feng Chen quickly released him and raised his arm to block an attack from Chen Sizhe, and the two engaged in combat again.
The subordinates who had been chasing the helicopter also pushed through the zombies towards them.
"You go back first!" Feng Chen ordered Yan Bu Bu while fighting Chen Sizhe.
Yan Bu Bu got up and asked, "Huh?"
And what about you?
"I have no problem getting away," Feng Chen replied.
Knowing he still had the detonator on him, Yan Bu Bu didn't say more and ran towards the crack in the mountain.
Chen Sizhe turned to chase, but Feng Chen blocked his way, his punches and kicks becoming even more ferocious.
"Go after him! Get the remote control!" Chen Sizhe shouted to his subordinates.
The subordinates immediately changed direction and pursued Yan Bu Bu.
Yan Bu Bu ran desperately forward, but the zombies ahead slowed him down. Fortunately, Binunu finally recovered and eagerly emerged from the psychic realm, roaring angrily and charging at the subordinates.
Yan Bu Bu pushed the zombies in front of him aside and yelled in his mind, "Be careful, Binunu! Don't get sent back to the psychic realm in less than a minute!"
His remark only fueled Binunu's anger, who leaped swiftly over the zombies' heads, ready to charge directly at the subordinates.
Feng Chen saw this and shouted, "Binunu, you're a top student of the Guide class, your strength is in tactics, not blind charging like the others."
Binunu's charge slowed momentarily, then veered to the right, feinting an attack on the subordinates.
The subordinates were blocked by zombies, but they had guns and kept shooting at Yan Bu Bu. Luckily, Yan Bu Bu was mixed in with the zombies and had a mental image, so he wasn't in great danger.
Yan Bu Bu kept glancing back at Feng Chen and Binunu.
When Binunu first appeared, it had its usual dark skin, probably from absorbing some virus in his psychic realm. But now, its skin rapidly turned pale, likely because it had left his realm and maintained a psychic link with him, drawing the virus back into his body.
As Binunu's skin color changed, the zombies began chasing it.
An idea struck Yan Bu Bu, and he quickly called out to Binunu: "Lead the zombies to block them. Don't attack, just delay them. I'm going to help my brother kill Chen Sizhe."
Binunu started to lead a large group of zombies towards the subordinates, circling them rapidly, and they soon found themselves surrounded.
Seeing Binunu attracting more zombies and the subordinates firing wildly, Yan Bu Bu turned back towards Feng Chen.
Chen Sizhe, dodging a punch from Feng Chen, saw his subordinates break free from the zombies and start running and shooting towards them.
They shot indiscriminately, not caring that Chen Sizhe was standing with Feng Chen. Feng Chen leaped away, but Chen Sizhe was caught off guard and hit by bullets in his forehead and temple.
Chen Sizhe reached to remove the bullets from his head, shocked and angry, about to curse. But he quickly realized something was wrong and tried to dodge, only to be hit hard on the head.
The blow was severe, especially since his skull had already been indented by Yan Bu Bu's metal rod. The indentation deepened, making his head look strangely misshapen.
But he saw that his own men who were shooting at him were also disappearing. No one was actually firing at him, and that group was still surrounded by zombies.
Chen Sizhe, seeing Feng Chen's continuous attacks, quickly retreated to block them, realizing that he had fallen into another illusion created by Yan Bubu!
With a low and majestic roar of a lion, Sasaka also fully recovered, appearing in the air.
"Go help Binunu," Feng Chen ordered.
Sasaka saw Binunu running wildly in circles on the zombies' heads, while his trapped men kept shooting at it, bullets whizzing chaotically.
With another low growl, it leaped into action.
On the helicopter, Chen Sizhe and Feng Chen managed a draw, struggling to maintain balance. But now on the ground, even though Chen Sizhe's burst of power and strength was not inferior to Feng Chen, his stamina couldn't keep up, and his blocking and attacking gradually slowed.
Feng Chen's relentless attacks gave Chen Sizhe no chance to breathe, aiming each strike at his head.
Chen Sizhe blocked a punch aimed at his head, but was kicked by Feng Chen, flying several meters backwards, tumbling over several zombies.
After falling, he quickly got up, clicked his dislocated wrist back into place, and picked up a submachine gun dropped by one of his men, opening fire on the approaching Feng Chen.
Feng Chen immediately grabbed a zombie to shield himself, its head shattered by a burst of bullets, black brain matter splattering everywhere.
Chen Sizhe kept firing, and Feng Chen looked around, noticing two tracked vehicles entering through a distant breach.
Zombies in front of the tracked vehicles kept falling, apparently killed by psychic powers. Above the vehicles flew vultures and cranes, and on top stood about a dozen people firing in all directions.
Without needing a closer look, he knew the arrivals were Lin Fen and Yu Yuan.
Chen Sizhe also saw them, his expression suddenly darkened, his eyes quickly scanning the surroundings, obviously planning to escape. But as he turned, he caught sight of Yan Bubu sneaking up from behind, dagger in hand.
Another illusion!
Chen Sizhe sneered inwardly, continuing to shoot at Feng Chen.
He saw Yan Bubu suddenly rush forward; although he knew it was an illusion, he couldn't help but shoot at him a few times, and Yan Bubu indeed vanished.
But before he could turn back, he felt a shadow flash beside him, and another punch landed on his head, his submachine gun kicked away.
Chen Sizhe leaped backwards, catching the submachine gun in mid-air and pulling the trigger as he landed, swiftly retreating to put distance between himself and Feng Chen.
But then, at the edge of his vision, another figure flickered.
It was Yan Bubu, stealthily approaching from behind the zombies, ducking and weaving, still holding a dagger.
Cautious by nature, Chen Sizhe, despite recognizing it as an illusion, still wanted to fire at Yan Bubu. Knowing Feng Chen might seize this opportunity to advance, he restrained himself until Yan Bubu leaped towards him, then swiftly turned and fired.
Throughout this, his eyes and focus remained locked on Feng Chen ahead.
He could no longer afford to worry about the remote control, his only thought was to escape, but he knew that meant he had to kill Feng Chen first.
As expected, Yan Bubu's figure dissolved into the air when hit, and Feng Chen surged forward. But Chen Sizhe, prepared this time, retreated quickly while firing at Yan Bubu.
After backing up a few meters, Chen Sizhe felt a chill in his heart, realizing he might have made a grave mistake.
As both the head of the Eastern Alliance Military Government and the leader of the Anbu Jiao, Chen Sizhe was always careful and cautious. Although he had seen through Yan Bubu's two illusions, he hadn't guarded against the real person.
Chen Sizhe turned sharply, only to see Yan Bubu indeed leaping at him from behind, a dagger raised high aiming for his head.
His skull already cracked, revealing the semi-transparent membrane beneath, he dared not take Yan Bubu's strike head-on. He dodged to the side and kicked out at him.
He put all his strength into this kick, aiming to break several of Yan Bubu's ribs. But his foot passed right through, feeling no resistance, as if kicking air.
At that same moment, he heard the sound of his skull breaking above him and felt a cold blade penetrate his brain.
Chen Sizhe instantly realized a fact: he had kicked an illusion, and Yan Bubu himself had only now rushed over!
With disbelief written all over his face, Chen Sizhe felt the person behind him forcefully stabbing the dagger downwards, and he quickly turned around, throwing a punch.
But before his fist could connect, his wrist was struck hard, eliciting a faint crack from the recently dislocated joint, causing his arm to go limp.
Then, he felt a wave of psychic energy from a Sentinel piercing through the cracks in his skull.
Feng Chen had already reached Chen Sizhe, smashing his wrist with a punch. Though his psychic energy had penetrated Chen Sizhe's skull, it hovered like a suspended sword, not plunging directly but rather swinging towards his face.
Yan Bubu had already slithered into the zombie crowd, turning back only when he felt safe enough, his dark eyes filled with slyness.
Chen Sizhe clumsily caught Feng Chen's fist and staggered back a few steps. Feng Chen leaped up, his fist raised high, bringing down a crushing blow to Chen Sizhe's face.
With a thud of flesh colliding, Chen Sizhe's nasal bone cracked. Feng Chen threw another powerful punch, collapsing his entire nose bridge.
Feng Chen continued to punch relentlessly. Chen Sizhe's head snapped back, teeth flying out, his steps faltering backward until he fell backward onto the ground.
Feng Chen strode forward, grabbed Chen Sizhe from the ground, and continued to hammer his face with punches.
After several punches, Chen Sizhe's face was unrecognizable, resembling a freshly cooked pancake. He lost all ability to defend, his attempts to block faltering weakly.
Feng Chen breathed heavily, his chest heaving. He lifted Chen Sizhe and delivered a fierce punch to his temple.
Chen Sizhe's temple caved in, his body thrown backward. Feng Chen, not waiting for him to hit the ground, plunged the psychic energy lingering in his skull down violently, pulverizing his brain tissue.
Chen Sizhe's body hit the ground with a dull thud, a black, viscous liquid slowly oozing from his mouth and nose, signifying his complete demise. But Feng Chen, staring at his corpse, still wore a fierce expression, his clenched fists trembling.
It was only when Yan Bubu came running over, embracing him and soothingly stroking his back while murmuring comfortingly, that he gradually regained his composure, looking down at the person in his arms.
"Awo..." Yan Bubu's eyes were filled with concern.
Feng Chen touched his face, then pulled him closer, hoarsely saying, "I'm alright."
From a distance came the intense sound of gunfire. Yan Bubu turned to look, only then noticing the two tracked vehicles and seeing a group of familiar faces on top, firing at their men surrounded by zombies. Binunu was still leading the zombies around, drawing their attention to itself, sparing those atop the vehicle.
Wang Suizi and Chen Wenchao were holding submachine guns, firing while glancing at Yan Bubu. On recognizing his face, Wang Suizi cried out in despair, "Bubu!"
"Awo!"
"Bubu!"
"Awo!"
Wang Suizi's voice was laced with tears: "Bubu..."
Yan Bubu paused, then quickly started jumping and waving his hands, running towards her vehicle to show he wasn't a real zombie.
Seeing Chen Wenchao aiming his gun in Yan Bubu's direction, Wang Suizi quickly pressed down on his hand: "Don't kill him, don't..."
Chen Wenchao, somewhat exasperated, brushed her hand aside and continued firing at a subordinate who had just emerged from the zombies. Ji Yi also told her, "Don't be sad, he must be like Brother Feng."
As Yan Bubu ran and waved, Wang Suizi finally broke into a smile, waving back: "Bubu!"
Yan Bubu then started to hop around: "Awo!"
Feng Chen had already charged into the zombie horde, but the zombies, surrounding his men, also blocked his path. Lin Fen shouted at Binunu, "Soldier Binunu, lead these zombies away now!"
Binunu promptly responded and led the vast horde of zombies in another direction, revealing his subordinates who were surrounded.
As the quantum beasts swarmed in, Chen Feng punched the nearest subordinate. Lin Fen, along with Ji Yi and other sentinels, also jumped off the rooftop of the vehicle, shooting and commanding, "First, use bullets to break their skulls, then use psychic power for the attack."
"Yes!"
The guides also used their psychic power to bind, keeping those subordinates in a state of motion stutter.
One of the subordinates, trapped in Yu Yuan's illusion, crouched on the ground, weeping loudly, as Lin Fen held a gun to his head and fired.
Yan Bubu, noticing Yu Yuan staring at him, turned his face away uneasily, only to hear Yu Yuan say, "Actually, you look quite handsome."
Yan Bubu responded doubtfully, "Really?"
"The most handsome zombie in this wasteland," Yu Yuan said with a smile.
Sasa's attack power was far superior to ordinary quantum beasts. With one swipe of its claw, it could gouge deep marks into a subordinate's skull, and another strike would shatter the skull and membranes. With its help, the sentinels could easily penetrate the subordinates' brains with psychic power and kill them effortlessly.
Soon after disposing of all subordinates, Lin Fen and Ji Yi returned to the vehicle. Yan Bubu then took out a remote detonator from his inner pocket and handed it to Lin Fen on the roof.
Looking at the detonator, then at Yan Bubu gazing up at him, Lin Fen said nothing, just gave him a thumbs up. Even in his usually stern eyes, there was a flash of satisfaction and pride.
Binunu, leading zombies in circles nearby, saw this and roared. Lin Fen then turned his thumbs up towards Binunu, shouting, "Binunu, excellent performance, a true soldier of the Western Alliance Army."
Binunu stood on top of a zombie, straightened up solemnly, and saluted.
Lin Fen then took something out from behind his waist and tossed it to Chen Feng, "Found this on the hillside of the main camp, don't lose it again."
Chen Feng caught it and saw it was his Wu Yu dagger. He raised it, waving towards Lin Fen, and loudly responded, "Won't lose it again."
Everyone turned towards the direction of the rift. Wang Suizi stood on the rooftop, reaching out to Yan Bubu, "Come on up, let me take a closer look. I haven't really seen a zombie's face yet."
As Yan Bubu was about to climb onto the vehicle, Chen Feng scooped him up around the waist, flung him over his shoulder, and ran towards the rift, saying, "Let's go, we'll leave them behind."
Yan Bubu, lying on Chen Feng's back, let out an excited roar and then turned to laugh loudly at Wang Suizi: "Aow aow aow..."
As Chen Feng sprinted, Yan Bubu looked towards the direction of Central City and suddenly reached out to pat his shoulder.
"What's up? Not fast enough for you?" Chen Feng asked loudly through the wind.
Yan Bubu shook his head, pointing towards the Sentinel Academy in Central City and softly growled.
Chen Feng then slowed down, "You want to go back to the Sentinel Academy?"
Yan Bubu nodded.
Chen Feng pondered, "Do you want to go back to get the code box and our stuff?"
Yan Bubu continued to nod.
Without another word, Chen Feng changed direction towards Central City. Binunu, leading a large group of zombies, and Sasa followed. Yu Yuan shouted from the vehicle behind, "Where are you going?"
"You go ahead, we're just going back to get some things," Chen Feng replied.
Returning to the Sentinel Academy, they revisited their former home. The door was securely locked, so everything inside was as they left it, untouched.
A half-finished miniature diving suit for Binunu lay on the sofa, and two uniformed military outfits hung on the coat rack by the door. However, when Yan Bubu went upstairs, he found the window open and two zombies standing in the middle of the room, having crawled in at some point.
Binunu quickly dispatched the zombies, and together with Sasa, threw them out of the window, then closed it, severing his psychic connection with Yan Bubu.
Finally able to speak, Yan Bubu eagerly asked Chen Feng how he also got injected and reached up to touch his face.
Chen Feng held his hand and briefly explained the situation. Yan Bubu then asked him, "Do you want me to remove the zombie virus from your body?"
Although Yan Bubu didn't mind Chen Feng retaining his zombie-like appearance, he feared the injection might gradually harm him. However, knowing the injection significantly enhanced human abilities, Yan Bubu was concerned Chen Feng might not want it removed.
"I want it removed," Chen Feng said as he brought Yan Bubu's hand to his lips for a kiss. "After we leave here, you can remove it for me."
Yan Bubu breathed a sigh of relief: "Okay."
"Now, let's pack our things and take them all with us."
Chen Feng took out a large bag they had brought from Haiyun City from the wardrobe and began organizing their belongings. Binunu also came downstairs and started packing its things into a small backpack.
Yan Bubu took the code box, opened it, and carefully removed the six intact grasshoppers inside, lining them up on the bed.
After silently observing them for a while, he gently placed the grasshoppers back into the box and tucked it into his inner pocket.
"Resources are scarce now; we need to take everything. There’s still half a bottle of shower gel in the bathroom, go get it," Chen Feng instructed while folding a blanket and placing it in the bag.
"Okay."
"Binunu, Sasa, there's half a bag of soybeans in the kitchen, bring that too."
"Aow."
"Gas lamp, lithium stone bag, salt jar, planer..." Chen Feng listed a myriad of items.
Yan Bubu ran downstairs, replying, "Got it, got it."
Although they might not return, Chen Feng still meticulously locked all the doors and windows and tightened the already dry water pipes before leaving.
The two men and two quantum beasts left the house, with Sasa carrying a bulging luggage bag and Binunu, and Chen Feng carrying Yan Bubu, all heading towards the edge of Central City.
SOOOOOO SATISFYING OMGGGGGG EAT THATTTT YOU PIECE OF SHYAAATTTTT
