Chapter 59
byChapter 59
When the light hit him, no one could avert their eyes from him.
Even Druid, who had seen Lanen many times before, couldn't help but be mesmerized at this moment, while Black Cat was frantically failing his san checks.
[Ahhh, my wife's new character illustration!!!]
[Let me in! Let me in!]
[This scene is so epic, I forgive the game developers for temporarily making my wife disappear.]
[Haha, what a buildup to a grand reveal (leans back), the developers really know their stuff, creating a big scene so subtly.]
[Tsk, tsk, they made the path so dark and gloomy, but then they shine the light solely on my wife, clever move, developers!]
[Developers: Can’t we win you over with this, you fans of beauty? (laughs)]
[Thank you, developers, for the new character design, much appreciated.]
Lanen glanced nonchalantly at the reaction of the audience in Druid's live stream, pleased with the rapidly soaring numbers.
It was worth the effort he put in creating the scene overnight, not to mention the outfit Ogel had sewn overnight.
#Today's Evil God is also working hard#
#Say thank you to Ogel#
"You've arrived," Lanen said, withdrawing his gaze from the distance and turning towards the awe-struck Druid and Black Cat, a hint of a smile on his lips.
"You, you are..." Druid asked hesitantly, completely immersed in the moment.
"Before you entered here, he must have told you," Lanen spoke slowly and deliberately, "From the moment you recited the prayer directed at me, you should have known what I am."
He said it, he admitted it!
Druid stammered, "Oh, my goodness, I mean we didn’t know you were such a grand being... I mean, to have had such a great adventure with an entity like you, this will be the greatest honor of my life."
The viewers in the chat couldn’t bear to watch his sycophantic behavior any longer.
[What in the world is this cringey translation-like tone hahaha]
[Druid, if you talk like that again, I’m going to passionately kiss your backside with my leather shoe.]
[Druid, where is your dignity?]
[Getting cozy with my wife, huh… noted in my little book.]
[Scoundrel! Shameless!]
Druid hastily typed in the live chat: What bootlicker? This is a normal reaction, okay? Wouldn’t any normal person be surprised to suddenly find out that their adventuring companion is a god?
Druid: And besides, how can you call it fawning over an NPC when it's a player's matter?
Before the chat could continue deriding him, Lanen spoke.
"Of course, I remember, and I'm very grateful for your help," Lanen said. Ogel, who had been standing in the shadows behind him, stepped forward with a tray and approached Druid and Black Cat.
Druid and Black Cat’s eyes nearly popped out of their heads at the sight of Ogel’s new look.
Finally, the chat representing all players voiced their confusion.
[Who is this???]
[So handsome! Is this a new NPC!?]
[Wait a minute, why does he look familiar?]
[Oh my, that iconic figure, isn't that Ogel?]
[Hold on, you're telling me Ogel looks like this??]
[The beast and the rose, I'm all for this CP! Ogel can lift Lanen with just one hand, I absolutely adore this size difference!]
The person who emerged had messy long hair neatly tied back, with a few deliberately left loose strands framing his cheeks. His features were rugged - a strong jaw, prominent nose, an archetypal Western tough-guy face softened by an artistic aura, adding a touch of wild beauty.
Today, he wore a tailcoat that complemented Lanen's outfit. As off-the-rack tailcoats rarely fit Ogel's size, he had sewn this one himself, perfectly showcasing his broad shoulders and narrow waist. If Lanen's beauty was divinely ethereal and mesmerizing, Ogel was the epitome of a hormone explosion.
Just looking at him, his appearance (app) rating would be over 85.
【???】
[What?! He cleans up this well? No wonder NPCs can afford to look casually unkempt.]
[Wow, that physique?? And this transformation?]
Excited players in the live stream posted before and after comparison photos. The previous photo showed the old Ogel in loose clothing, his figure indiscernible and hair unkempt, creating an overwhelming impression of sloppiness.
On the other side was the current Ogel, standing over two meters tall with an impeccable body ratio, his tied-up hair giving him an appearance rating over 85.
[Let me introduce everyone, this is my new husband (joking).]
[I knew it, an NPC appearing beside Lanen couldn't be ordinary.]
Seeing Druid and Black Cat's lack of reaction, Ogel tilted his head, thinking they hadn't noticed, and lowered the tray a bit more.
Druid and Black Cat snapped back to reality and looked at the tray Ogel was offering, which held two daggers with dark green patterns on the handles, resembling military stilettos in design.
What are these?
Before either of them could use their detection skills, Lanen said, “This is an enchanted weapon that absorbs the enemy's blood to replenish its own. Consider it a gift for joining our church.”
Like with the previous Soul-Eating Butterfly incident, after the NPC disclosed the information, a system message popped up.
[Vampiric Dagger (Enchanted Weapon)]
Level: D+
Description: Exclusively produced by the Secret Church, no other branches exist.]
Enchanted dagger???
Druid and Black Cat both gaped in surprise, and the chat exploded in reaction.
[An enchanted weapon???]
[Whoa, there are rewards like this?? Why don’t I have one!]
[Ahh, I’m so jealous, this must be the first enchanted weapon in the game, right?]
[Insider job, this has to be! Druid must be using cheats!]
[It's an insider job because I don't have it!]
[Druid! Show us the stats, don’t make me beg on my knees orz]
While the envious players in the live stream were still lamenting, the more seasoned players had already started logging in to join this faction.
“This, this is for us?”
“Of course, I told you, it’s to thank you for your help, and also as a welcome gift to our church,” Lanen replied.
Druid and Black Cat solemnly accepted it, especially Black Cat, who carefully tucked it away, while Druid flaunted it in front of the live stream for a while before whispering that he would post its attributes on the forum later, asking viewers to stay tuned.
Clearly, it was a tease for an upcoming forum post.
Black Cat asked, “Will you be returning to the psychotherapy room?”
This question was also of immense interest to the audience in Druid's live stream.
Lanen paused for a moment, then said, “I will reappear when the time is right.”
As for when the time would be right, it likely meant when those powers had given up their search, or when they were convinced he was not the gatekeeper.
Moreover, the increase in player numbers posed a problem. Originally, with 500 players frequently visiting the psychotherapy room seeking him, it had already attracted attention. Now, with the number doubled, Lanen, no fool, realized that continuing as before would be tantamount to openly telling those infiltrating Arkham, ‘There’s an anomaly here’.
Therefore, Lanen had abandoned that place, at least until he figured out a solution to return there.
Hearing Lanen's response, the audience in the live stream felt somewhat disappointed, while Black Cat seemed thoughtful.
“It’s time,” Lanen said, as if sensing something, his gaze deepening towards the sky, “You must leave now.”
Other players had also found Carmen, and with limited time, Druid and Black Cat needed to leave, allowing time for others.
“Finally,” Lanen said with a smile, looking at them, “thank you for everything you’ve done.”
His gaze on Druid and Black Cat, his words, however, were a gesture of gratitude through them to all the players.
Without the players' efforts, he alone could not have thwarted the strangers' conspiracy.
It was because of them that the city remained safe and sound.
Druid and Black Cat opened their mouths to speak, but before they could utter a word, they experienced dizziness again. In the blink of an eye, they were back in reality.
"Carmen stood before them, smiling gently, 'You must have already met whom you wished to see.'"
"'Yes,' Black Cat steadied herself and asked, 'You mentioned ‘entering His kingdom.’ Was the place we just visited His kingdom? Can we enter again?'"
"As they spoke, Black Cat and the Druid kept glancing at the carpet's magical circle and silently recited the earlier prayer, hoping to re-enter."
"Clearly, their attempts were unsuccessful."
"Carmen explained, 'Where He resides is His kingdom. As for re-entry, currently, only true believers can directly enter His kingdom. But don't be discouraged. If your faith is sincere enough, you'll eventually meet the standards of a true believer.'"
"'Moreover, our Savior is merciful. Even if you're not true believers, as long as you contribute to the church, His gaze will generously fall upon you.'"
"After her words, a series of system notifications appeared."
"[Faction quest initiated. Choose from the following tasks to complete. Completing faction quests will earn you faction honor points, redeemable for exclusive rewards in the faction store.]"
"Black Cat and the Druid’s eyes lit up as they quickly opened the task list:"
"[Faction Daily - Heal the Injured
Task: Post-disaster Akam City has many injured, and the medical system is overwhelmed. Do your best to heal injured civilians you encounter on the streets.]"
"[Faction Daily - Rebuild Akam]"
"[Faction Daily - Rebuild Akam
Task: Many homes in Akam have collapsed post-disaster, leaving numerous NPCs homeless. They may need your help to rebuild their homes.]"
"[Faction Daily - Visit the Injured]"
[Faction Daily - Transport Supplies]
There were many tasks, but they all shared a core objective: to help rebuild Arkham City after the disaster.
This isn’t an evil god! This sounds more like a great benefactor!
Clearly, more than one player in the live stream was thinking the same.
[Why are Lanen faction's daily tasks so normal? I was mentally prepared to burn a few people!]
[Someone arrest the villain in the comment above!]
[We've said it before, this game isn't a cult simulator!]
[You guys are going to get arrested by the police for that!]
While the live stream chat continued its playful banter, Druid couldn’t wait to open the faction store, and was astounded by the array of goods on offer.
First, there was the potion section. Previously, Druid was certain that only low-level potions were available here, mostly D-grade, with a small portion being C-grade, quickly snapped up by players or even pre-ordered by well-connected groups (referring to the troublemaker squad).
But now, there were B-grade, and even A-grade potions???
Druid pinched himself subconsciously when he saw the rows of dazzling silver A-grade potions.
Wow, A-grade??
[Flying Demon Bat Transformation Potion
Level: A
Effect: After drinking, transform into an A-grade flying demon bat for three hours, temporarily possessing the bat's stats. Side effects include 2d4 turns of photophobia after three hours.]
Drinking this turns you directly into a freakish creature? Won't that lead to chaos??
Druid was stunned, instinctively checking the exchange conditions.
Requirements: True Believer status, 10,000 faction honor points.
Druid: …
The faction daily tasks just completed give only 10 to 100 points each. How long would it take to accumulate enough?
The other sections followed suit. Druid also spotted the enchanted weapons section, filled with desirable artifacts and equally lofty exchange requirements.
As the two screenshot and drool, Druid asked:
“Is True Believer a rank?”
“Correct,” Carmen replied, “All new members are currently ordinary followers. To become a General Believer, you need 100 faction honor points, for a Shallow Believer 1,000, and for a True Believer 5,000.”
“Above True Believer is the rank of Zealous Believer, but this level cannot be reached just by accumulating honor points. Only truly devout followers can earn the deity's recognition and become Zealous Believers.”
Even Carmen himself found this promotion system peculiar. Shouldn't the church value devotion? But Lanen had once meaningfully told him: they are more accustomed to this method.
Sure enough, Druid and Black Cat didn't raise any objections. They whispered briefly and quickly screenshotted the rest of the faction store.
They didn’t even have time to look in detail, as other players were waiting in line. After completing their screenshots, Carmen ushered them out where impatient players swiftly squeezed in.
At the same time, Druid ended the live stream, telling his viewers he would compile and upload the screenshots to the forum and asking them to stay tuned.
With so much new content, he had a feeling the forum was about to get lively again.
At this moment, on the player forum.
After several days of grinding—ah, I mean, completing daily tasks—the forum's fervor had gradually returned to normal levels.
However, this "normal" was significantly higher than during the beta, as previously everyone could only watch and not play, but now an additional 5,000 players had entered the game.
During Druid’s live stream, any emerging criticism towards the developers had dissipated before it could gain momentum.
Because everyone suddenly realized, oh, Lanen is still around.
So, no problem then.
Time to see the wife in the game.
Of course, apart from these delighted players who got online, there were also many onlookers and cloud players, those who hadn’t secured a reservation slot. Although the game recently opened more slots, it was still insufficient compared to the number of pre-registered players for "Destiny’s Gyre", leading to daily lamentations on the forum from those who missed out.
2l: Are these slots some kind of joke? Give us more, damn it!
3l: Seriously, these slots were gone in the blink of an eye, not even five seconds qwq.
4l: I suspect scalpers among those who got slots. The developers should investigate!
5l: Give me a slot! I need to see Lanen, I’m dying without my wife wuwuwu.
6l: Let me in! I'm a student! Give me a slot (reaching out).
7l: There’s definitely some foul play! How could 5,000 slots disappear so quickly? I didn’t get one, so something's fishy!
8l: Uh... Just wondering, are those players who said they’d quit and give up their slots still around?
9l: Lol, you’re out of the loop. Druid just said in his live stream that Lanen is still here and even has his own faction. Everyone’s heading to the live stream now.
10l: Man, weren't you all criticizing the developers and talking about quitting? How come you’ve changed your tune so quickly?
11l: What, I thought that was just talk (shifts gaze).
12l: I didn’t say it, someone always looks forward to the game, probably some cloud player making noise.
13l: Right, I think those making noise are the ones who didn’t get slots. Maybe they hoped to trick a couple of players into giving up theirs, haha! What a strategy!
14l: Holy moly, did you guys see Druid’s live stream??!! Absolutely mind-blowing.
15l: What, what, I haven’t checked it out yet.
14l: Image.jpg.
Post 14 uploaded a screenshot from Druid’s live stream of Lanen, perfectly composed without needing to find an angle. Against the dark, twisted background, Lanen appeared to radiate light. No, it wasn't an illusion; there really was a soft glow on him, making the youthful deity the sole focal point visually.
He was the only deity shining in the dark forest.
16l: This composition! This light! These flowers! These trees!
17l: (Crying) It’s too artistic, feels like it could be a painting. The developers really outdid themselves this time, wow.
18l: Getting itchy to paint with this material. I’ve even thought of a name for the painting, “The Forgotten Shepherd.”
19l: Passing the brush to the big shot above, I want to see! Paint fast!
Bookworm: Hmm, this composition is indeed superb. The developers really put thought into it this time. I watched Druid’s entire live stream. Honestly, the replay will blow your mind even more. Every plant along the way was unique and fantastical, nothing repetitive, all in a dark, grey tone, giving a sense of a forest that has died.
Following Druid and their perspective, the journey felt oppressive, with narrow paths to walk. Described poetically, it felt like 'mountains end and waters turn, doubt no road', or 'narrow at first, only fitting for one'. Then, following the glow of fireflies and looking ahead, 'suddenly it clears, the dark willows and bright flowers', with the youthful deity right where the light gathers, or perhaps He is the only light in this forest.
21l: Following the wordy big shot above (dog head).
Bookworm: Thinking about it, the developers intentionally keeping Lanen out of the real world might have been a ploy, hooking fans with uncertainty and fear of losing him, then delivering a big twist and a sweet date, effectively keeping you hooked.
22l: Man, that makes so much sense.
23l: Turns out I’ve been played by the developers. No, my spirit is wounded, @Destiny’s Gyre official, you better release more beta slots to soothe my aching heart.
24l: Add ID number.
25l: I don't have the talent of the big shot above, I can only keep saying how beautiful my wife is, wuwuwu, and she even changed clothes. The developers really put effort into this, so when will the figurines be released?
26l: Lanen Lanen, my wife my wife ehehehe~
27l: So handsome, so beautiful, wuwuwu, I'm satisfied and collapsing.
28l: Did no one notice someone in the shadowy corner next to Lanen? Looks like Ogel.
29l: What kind of eyes do you have to see in such darkness?
Lanen Solo Fan: Don't care, I only stan Lanen. Ogel, Edmond, Archie, I feel nothing for them, just a simple old man craving the beauty of his wife.
CP Fan: Oh? Really? You wouldn’t ship them even like this?
Image.jpg.
This image is obviously a screenshot from the live stream, showing Ogel in a tailcoat carrying a tray in front of two players. It includes several close-up shots and others perfectly showcasing his front, side, and back.
30l: Who is this? A new NPC?
31l: Lol, that's Ogel hahaha, he tied up his hair.
32l:????
33l:???
34l: Wow, look at that chest, those arms, the shoulder-to-waist ratio (drooling).
35l: Someone on the forum said Ogel was a 'male mom' and I didn't believe it, but now I’m the first to say, male mom is the coolest!
36l: That's gotta be at least a C cup, right? Really want to pinch and see if it's soft ().
37l: Doesn't anyone else find male mom's face attractive? So handsome and wild. I thought he'd be the unrestrained type, but he's actually a loyal 'male mom'. Love this contrast.
38l: Same here, originally didn't ship Ogel and Lanen, but now I'm kind of feeling it.
"CP Photo: In this image, Ogrer stands behind Ranen, looking every bit the devoted butler in his tailcoat. The stark contrast in their physiques suggests Ogrer could easily lift Ranen with one hand."
"39l: Thanks, I'm totally shipping them now."
40l: Lift! Quick, lift! Show me how you lift him (crying).
41l: Not only can he lift him, but during that... his feet don't even touch the ground. I'm freaking out here!
Ahhhhhhh!
Lann logged onto the gaming forum and almost cringed into oblivion when he saw this post.
Being praised was one thing, after all, Lann did somewhat use his appearance to attract players, and his skin had thickened over time. He was no longer the person who blushed at every complimentary post from players.
But this whole 'shipping' thing, especially when the other half was his roommate he saw day in and day out, left Lann embarrassingly stuck.
Especially as the content from the players went off the rails, Lann quickly closed the forum, pretending he saw nothing.
"Lann?" Oger looked at him strangely, noticing his dazed and blushing expression on the throne. "What's wrong?"
"No, nothing," Lann inhaled deeply, trying to calm himself down.
Not calming down at all, damn it!
Especially with Oger right there, every time Lann closed his eyes, he saw the scenario the players were discussing in the post, feeling completely thrown off.
Black Cat and Druid, where are they? When will they start a thread? He needed to clear his mind of those inappropriate thoughts.
He had resolved never to look at the weird fanfics and risqué content on the forum, but still ended up seeing it unexpectedly!
Lanen quickly closed that thread and instead opened another discussing something else, like the first enchanted weapon appearing in the game, finally managing to calm himself down a bit.
2l: Everyone next door is discussing NPCs, doesn’t anyone care about the enchanted weapons?
3l: Yes, this should be the main focus of discussion, right? It's the first time this type of weapon has appeared in the game!
4l: I guess everyone's waiting for Druid and Black Cat to upload the attribute screenshots. Druid's live stream was exploding earlier, and other players are eager for him to post the screenshots on the forum.
5l: Sigh, why are they so lucky? This is the first enchanted weapon in the game!
6l: Who isn’t jealous? Guess they just buttered up the right NPC (sour).
……
"Boss! The game has introduced enchanted weapons for the first time!"
While other players flocked to the Kamui district, the Stargazing Team also noticed this unusual phenomenon. Fatty, always monitoring the forum, quickly found the reason.
“Black Cat and Druid found a way to join Lanen’s force, and they even got D-grade enchanted weapons!” Fatty sent the weapon screenshot from the forum to Fate Is In My Hands, “The weapon's attributes haven't been published yet, but it doesn't look good.”
Fate Is In My Hands frowned as he opened the screenshot, his heart sinking slightly at the sight of the stiletto daggers.
After a moment of silence, he said, “Stay calm, maybe each faction has its own benefits. Since they introduced a faction system, this or the next version will surely focus on inter-faction conflicts. The developers wouldn’t let one faction dominate; that would be unfair to players in other factions. As long as the developers aren’t foolish, they wouldn’t do something to disrupt the game’s balance.”
"That means, at least initially, the advantages of joining a faction should be similar, with perhaps some biases in certain areas. The only difference is the backing behind each faction. The Inspection Bureau is supported by the national machinery and can accommodate a large number of players. Once the public beta starts, most players will likely join the Inspection Bureau first. Our choice won't be wrong."
"Moreover, who says joining the Inspection Bureau won't have its advantages?" Fate Is In My Hands suddenly smiled, "We should thank the players who uploaded information on the forum. Do you think the Inspection Bureau wouldn’t pay a hefty price for that intel?"
"The matters of the foreigners, the spies within the Inspection Bureau, and of course, the evil gods appearing, even that gatekeeper in the main storyline."
"If this game is as intelligent and realistic as advertised, wouldn’t you want to try it out?"
This reasoning made sense, and the restlessness in the other members of the Stargazing Team gradually subsided, though some raised objections.
A female team member exclaimed in surprise, "You’re not thinking of selling out the Secret Church, are you?"
Fate Is In My Hands calmly replied, "How can you call it selling out? Player affairs aren’t about betrayal. Moreover, with so many players aware of the evil god's existence, a secret known by three people is no longer a secret. How long do you think a secret known by five thousand people can be kept from the NPCs?"
"We're just maximizing our benefits."
The female team member pondered for a moment, then looked up seriously, "Lanen is very popular. Be careful not to become the public enemy of the players."
"Haha, how could that happen? Don’t mind those silly players. Despite what they say, they're fickle. Once more beautiful and powerful NPCs appear in the game, they’ll start calling them their wives too," Fate Is In My Hands was unconcerned, "It’s just an NPC, who cares that much?"
The female team member didn’t respond, thinking about the previous uproar on the player forum and the players' frantic search for Lanen, not agreeing with Fate Is In My Hands' judgment.
But he was the team leader now, and she didn’t feel like arguing.
"Let's go, I have a lead now. We’ll soon find the Inspection Bureau's base."
They had only walked for a few minutes when Fatty started shouting excitedly: "Black Cat and Druid have started a thread."
The Stargazing Team's pace slowed down involuntarily. Fate Is In My Hands glanced at the others, interested in their reaction, and sighed, "Let's take a break for a bit and see what they're up to."
……
"Faction Sharing Thread"
Black Cat: Hello everyone! Long time no see, I'm back. I started this thread to report my well-being. First, I want to clarify that I’m fine. My previous absence wasn’t a show; it was just an emergency offline situation in real life. I have now fully recovered.
Black Cat: Okay, no more nonsense. Let’s talk about our game. As you all know, after the game officials introduced the faction system, players can finally officially join an organization. I always thought I had automatically joined Lanen’s faction, but who would have thought, not yet (dog head emoji).
Druid: Who isn’t in the same boat? I thought the game had defaulted Lanen as the player faction leader. What, it wasn't like that?
Black Cat: Alright, no jokes now. The official name of Lanen’s force has finally been revealed – the Secret Church. Judging by the name, this church might operate under the principles of discretion and secrecy? We’ve just joined, so we can’t tell much yet. Let's discuss the benefits of joining the Secret Church based on what we experienced in the live stream.
First and foremost, the undisputed center of the faction, the only appointed leader of the Secret Church, our sole faith and savior, is undoubtedly everyone's beloved Lanen.
From Lanen's ‘temporary disappearance’ in the storyline, you can see how important this NPC is in the hearts of the players. Although some players’ declarations of quitting were probably just threatening the developers hhhh, it shows how popular Lanen is – the game's most popular character, with high app (appearance), mysterious origins, and still a mystery in the storyline. He is undoubtedly the quest-giving god. As long as Lanen is present, you can trigger important plots or tasks. I can’t help but suspect the developers are also fans of Lanen.
And from the latest official PV, Lanen might continue to be the center of the storyline in the new version.
This means joining Lanen's church likely gives access to a wealth of tasks, and even special or main storyline missions!
Druid: Moreover, Lanen’s new spawn point is no longer the psychotherapy room, but the ‘divine realm’, which is the previous night hospital dungeon. Currently, only players who have joined the Secret Church can enter for the first time.
Black Cat: Right, I don’t know how often we’ll see Lanen after joining the Secret Church, but those who don’t join definitely won’t see him. So, if you’re here for Lanen, be sure to join the Secret Church.
Next, the power of the Secret Church.
As we know, Lanen's main forces in the previous main storyline were two: the Kamui clan and the Black Poker. Old players should be familiar with these. The Kamui clan is the only supplier of potions, and Black Poker has rich tasks. The boss of Black Poker, Carens, is generous, and Black Poker is a must-visit for players who chose the gangster profession at the start, being the boss of Arkham's underground forces.
With the new faction system, officially joining will definitely bring more benefits. Not to mention, I found out for you guys, players who join the Secret Church will get discounts on potion purchases from the Kamui clan, with higher discounts for higher believer ranks.
Druid: It’s the same with Black Poker. More weapons and even training grounds are now available. We can practice shooting and fighting with NPCs, a long-term skill development spot. Oh, but it costs faction honor points.
Black Cat: Finally, and most importantly...
Druid: We know you've all been waiting for a long time.
Black Cat: Yes, it's about the enchanted weapons!
Druid: No more words, just look at the picture.
Both of them knew that most players viewing the thread were waiting for this, so without further ado, they quickly uploaded screenshots.
One of them was the enchanted weapon given to them by Lanen, the Vampiric Dagger.
[Name: Vampiric Dagger (Enchanted Weapon)
Level: D+
Effect: For every 5 points of damage dealt, restore 1 point of health to oneself. This effect triggers once every 3 combat rounds.
Equipment Requirement: None
Description: A prototype crafted by the newly arisen Shepherd God. The dagger is imbued with a sliver of His power, minuscule but immensely significant to the likes of ants.]
3l: These attributes!!
4l: Pretty good, considering the average player health is about 10 points. Not every combat attack guarantees damage, and there's a chance of grazing hits. This effect is like recovering one-tenth of health for every 5 points of damage dealt in three attacks, emmmm
5l: It's a relic; this effect is undoubtedly god-tier in the early stages qwq.
6l: Can it also heal oneself? That's just plain annoying. I don’t care, it's annoying because I don’t have it.
7l: This is game-breaking, I demand one too.
8l: Why! Why did I join the church but didn’t get one!
9l: Clearly, Lanen gave the enchanted weapon to Black Cat and Druid because they participated in the hospital instance. Lanen probably broke the seal there (presumably), so this might be a thank-you gift? Or maybe there’s a favorability system at play.
10l: Ahhh, I'm so jealous! Whether they have it or not, or whether they managed to create something that incredible, just show it off for now.
The first page of screenshots is all A-grade or B-grade potions, thanks to Carmen's collection. Some are from the Kamui clan’s stock, others only heard of in books, high-grade potions that even Carmen hasn't managed to make in reality yet.
But that’s not a problem. Lanen knows some of the ways to obtain these potions, and they are set at high honor point prices. By the time players accumulate enough points, Carmen should be able to make them.
The same goes for the enchanted weapons.
Drawing from his past life experiences, Lanen compiled a list of powerful yet reasonable weapons, like the Demon Hunter Gun, Achilles' Armor, Sword of Radiance, Enchanted Crowbar, Old Seal, and so on.
These are items not necessarily available now, but definitely impressive and cool.
Moreover, in the descriptions of these items, Lanen planted a seed.
A seed that might help him temporarily escape his identity as the gatekeeper.
Oooohhhh???? Flag! I see a flag!!
