    Chapter 411

Its limbs were slender, and its fingers were disproportionately long.

If such a body structure were placed on a human, it would look somewhat terrifying, giving off a 'Slenderman' vibe. But on such a tiny creature, only the size of a palm, it was not unsettling at all, only evoking words like cute and lively.

The little one had hair the color of sapphire.

Its hair was long, made of a material Lorant had never seen before.

If one had to describe it, it was as if sapphire had been turned into extremely fine threads and then smoothed out.

Its hair was so long that it could completely envelop the little creature, and these sapphire strands seemed to have a life of their own, slightly wrapping around Lorant's fingers the moment they touched.

The sapphire-colored creature climbed out of the eggshell and, without a second thought, sat down in Lorant's palm, tilting its head to look up at the human who had been nurturing it for so long and with whom it felt a deep connection.

The newborn had a natural affinity for him.

It lifted its head, looking seriously at Lorant, showing its sapphire eyes.

Generally, people might describe someone's blue eyes as being as stunning as sapphires.

But for this little creature, that was not an adequate description.

Because its eyes weren’t just like sapphires—they were sapphires.

Set in its delicate, human-like face were two incredibly lively sapphires.

And this didn’t seem strange to Lorant; it seemed as though it was meant to be this way.

Those sapphire eyes were filled with trust and joy, looking at Lorant like a baby bird seeing its mother for the first time.

The little creature opened its mouth, showing sharp teeth that didn’t match its cute look, and beamed at Lorant.

*"Guguda guda!"* Then, from this slender, beautiful creature, came a weird, hard-to-describe noise.

Although it was an S-Level Pet, Lorant could sense that this little one was probably not the type to talk like Fa Meng.

However, this didn’t mean that the little creature was any worse at communicating.

Strange sounds came from its mouth, and seeing Lorant's confused expression, the beautiful little creature put its hands on its face and thought for a moment.

It quickly had an idea, and its smooth, shiny sapphire hair flew up, curling around Lorant’s fingers like little tentacles, gripping him tightly.

Then, Lorant heard a childish voice in his mind.

    "Mom! Are you my mom?"

The voice in Lorant's mind was a clear, childlike voice.

Lorant couldn’t discern its gender, but it sounded older than a baby’s voice.

If one had to say, the baby’s voice was like a toddler’s babbling.

But the voice that appeared in his mind now was more like that of an eight or nine-year-old, nearly ten.

Lorant was quite familiar with this mode of communication.

He focused and replied mentally, 'No, I’m not your mom. But I am the one who incubated you. You can call me Lorant, or any other name you like.' He patiently explained to the little creature.

"We can be great friends and very close family members."

"I will become the most important person in your life."

The little MagicEater Sprite tilted its head, looking puzzled by Lorant's words, and kept questioning him in his mind.

"But it was you who hatched me from the monster egg, so you should be my mother! From your memories, I understand what a mother is, and I didn’t get it wrong, did I? Mom!"

"Do you not want me anymore?" As it spoke, the little one pulled a strand of hair into its mouth, lowering its head as if about to cry.

Unlike a typical baby, the MagicEater Sprite's logic and thinking seemed more mature.

It spoke clearly, expressing its thoughts quite explicitly. Despite being less than five minutes old, it impressed Lorant with its clear thinking.

At the same time, this little one was obviously like Codex, able to perceive everything in Lorant's mind clearly.

Even memories from past lives were fully accessible to these little ones.

Lorant was momentarily stunned, realizing the little one's logic was flawless. According to its logic, calling him mother was not wrong.

But as a young man, Lorant felt he should stop a little one that was about to call him 'mother.'

Lorant hesitated, "What you said isn’t wrong, but I’m not your mother."

He was about to say that from a physiological perspective, your mother should be the live beast that laid the monster egg.

But Lorant suddenly stopped, frozen in place.

It was then he realized this little one was the first beast pet bred without live beasts in the final step.

Even the Furious Ragdoll Bear, bred through a special method, started with a live beast laying a monster egg, which Lorant later assembled.

Essentially, it was still a monster egg, just with two maternal sources.

But the MagicEater Sprite was unique—a truly special beast pet.

The final step involved only non-living materials.

Of course, before the final step, the breeding of the MagicEater Sprite still used some other live beasts.

The live beasts involved were high-level—six in total, four above level thirteen and two at least level ten.

Breeding this monster egg drained many high-level beasts in the Beast Tower.

After breeding, those high-level beasts were left extremely weak.

Even with meticulous care and full recovery, the earliest they could breed again would likely be three to five years.

Not to mention, live beasts themselves vary.

Live beasts with poor recovery might need a decade of care to fully regain their strength.

These constraints on breeding beast pets explain why Lorant didn’t collect extra rocks from Lopulo mountain as backups.

Decades later, it’s uncertain if those rocks retain their original power.

If by then, the times have changed, the rocks are submerged by the sea or the seabed sinks, revealing more rocks, making that rock no longer the easternmost one, it would all be in vain.

Therefore, to be safe, Lorant only took the amount needed this time.

However, it was precisely because of the uniqueness of this creature that Lorant was momentarily at a loss for words.

"Well... even though I hatched you, you weren't born from me, so..." Lorant tried to reason with Little Qing to give up its peculiar way of addressing him.

But as he watched Little Qing's eyes grow wider and even begin to fill with tears, Lorant's voice softened involuntarily.

After a while, Lorant finally gave in, "Alright, alright, let's make a deal, okay? No matter who you think I am, just don't call me 'Mom' in public. Can you use a different name for me?"

"I don't dislike you or want to abandon you, it's just that this term makes me feel very awkward. Let's agree on another term, okay?"

Lorant spoke gently to Little Qing, knowing that it could understand his meaning, so from the start, he treated it as an equal.

This attitude clearly made Little Qing happy, who felt respected, and so it rubbed away the tears that were about to fall under Lorant's soft words.

Little Qing looked at Lorant with teary eyes, thought carefully for a moment, as if it had been wronged, and then hesitantly nodded, agreeing to the matter.

Lorant breathed a sigh of relief. Whether it was 'Baby' as the child insisted on calling him, or 'Lorant' as Fa Meng called him, Lorant didn't really mind.

But he just couldn't accept Little Qing calling him 'Mom', it really made him uncomfortable.

With an agreement reached, the sapphire-colored little figure pondered for a while, seemingly very seriously considering what to call him.

With the prompt and help of Little Fa Meng that appeared beside them, the two little ones, who had been very friendly from the start, quickly reached a consensus and decided to call him 'Lorant'.

Little Fa Meng generously shared its nickname for Lorant, mainly because it felt a close affinity with Little Qing in front of it.

Lorant had no objections to this.

After Little Qing finally settled down from its head-shaking, Lorant began to carefully use his fingers to examine its body for a thorough check.

Lorant started from the top of its head, carefully observing Little Qing's appearance.

This humanoid little one had two small, demon-like blue horns on top of its head, but the two horns were hidden within its sapphire blue long hair, not very noticeable at first glance.

Only when touched could they be felt.

And after lifting the sapphire blue, seemingly alive long hair, Lorant was surprised to find that on Little Qing's back, at the position of the shoulder blades, there were two pairs of closed, unopened blue thin wings.

Along with its strikingly delicate features and figure, Lorant instantly thought of the little elves in fairy tales.

And not the strange kind of elves, but beings like flower fairies.
