Chapter 85 Someone Professes Their Love to Ji An Right in Front of Gu Jinsheng!

The female superpowered woman kept winking at her companion, who sensed something was off and turned around to see Gu Jinsheng.

Gu Jinsheng’s strikingly handsome face was highly recognizable in the Capital Base. The healer superpowered who had been speaking immediately paled.

"Uh, no…" the healer superpowered stammered, "I didn’t mean it like that. Of course, I’m glad the base is thriving, it’s just…"

The more she tried to explain, the more flustered she became, sweat beading on her forehead and eyes growing misty.

Ji An smiled. "I understand what you mean. Your suggestion is excellent—it’s indeed an issue the base needs to address. Don’t you agree, Commander-in-Chief Gu?"

    Gu Jinsheng nodded.

Seeing that Ji An and Gu Jinsheng were being amiable and showed no intention of reprimanding them, the two female superpowered grew bolder.

The spatial-type superpowered said, "Honestly, even though I’m a spatial-type superpowered myself, I also love spatial storage devices. Even my family secretly bought one behind my back—they’re incredibly convenient.

But ever since spatial storage devices became available, the treatment of us spatial-type superpowered has visibly declined. We’re no longer an indispensable part of a team.

Many superpowered even refuse to take us on missions, seeing us as liabilities. And they’re not wrong—we spatial-type superpowered are weak in combat, belonging to the non-combat category."

Ji An stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Actually, I’ve always thought spatial-type superpowered could be incredibly powerful combatants?"

The spatial-type superpowered was stunned. "How could you think that? What type of superpowered are you? It’s common knowledge that spatial-type superpowered are non-combat. The three rarest superpowers are all non-combat oriented."

The healing superpowered added, "Well, maybe psychic superpowered don’t count anymore. There was that incredibly strong psychic superpowered who took down a level-six American superpowered with just three psychic projectiles, turning him into a mindless husk.

And not long ago, there was that base hero—even more impressive. He charged solo into a human traffickers’ den. Dozens of mid-tier superpowered traffickers, and he was just a low-level psychic superpowered at the time! Yet, he managed to protect all the children under their combined superpowers.

If it were me? Forget protecting the kids—I’d probably be dead on the spot."

The spatial-type superpowered studied Ji An closely. "You look familiar… Someone as striking as you, I’d definitely remember if I’d seen you before. Ah—!!!"

Suddenly, she pointed excitedly at Ji An. "You—you’re that hero!"

The healing superpowered also recognized him. "The psychic superpowered who saved all those children from dozens of mid-tier traffickers!"

Both of their eyes lit up with fanatical admiration—the kind reserved for idols. "Legend, Legend! Can we take a photo with you? I’d treasure this for the rest of my life!"

When the female superpowered said this, she was referring to Ji An’s heroic act of saving the children.

Little did she know, this was just the beginning for Ji An. His fame would later surpass this feat, and his actions would shake the entire era, revolutionizing human civilization. By then, Ji An would be a hero to all mankind—or perhaps, more fittingly, a demiurge. And her photo, posted online, would be envied by countless people. Not only would she brag about it for life, but her descendants would too!

"Of course." Ji An was actually a very approachable guy.

At this point, the two female superpowered completely forgot about Gu Jinsheng, focusing solely on taking photos with Ji An. Gu Jinsheng even had to act as their photographer. Ji An grinned, his eyes crinkling with mirth as he gazed at Gu Jinsheng through the lens, making Gu Jinsheng’s heart race uncontrollably—reminding him of that particularly vivid dream from last night!

After the pictures were snapped, the two women were overjoyed. One of them said, "Earlier, I was thinking, who dares claim that the three rarest superpowers are combat-oriented? But now that I know it was you, Legend, it tracks. Still, Legend, how can space and healing types fight?"

Ji An replied, "Natural selection. Might makes right. If spatial-type superpowers exist, they must have a purpose."

The spatial-type superpowered muttered dejectedly. "Yeah, for storage. But now that advantage is gone. Will spatial-type superpowered eventually disappear?"

"No. There must be untapped applications." Ji An said, "If the base establishes a superpowered school specifically for combat training, would you be willing to attend?"

"Of course!" the female superpowered exclaimed. "Every mission outside the base is do-or-die. If there were training beforehand, I doubt any superpowered would refuse."

The spatial-type superpowered added, "That training could mean the difference between life and death!"

Ji An smiled and said, "Then you might have something to look forward to. In a few days, the base might establish such a training facility. You can come and participate then. Who knows, by that time, there might be specialized methods to enhance the combat abilities of the three rare superpower types."

    "Really?" the healer superpowered asked.

"Of course," Ji An replied. "In fact, healer superpowered are indispensable on the battlefield. For one thing, med pods require time to heal, but during combat, a healer superpowered acts like a combat medic. If a teammate's health is critical, a healing superpower can patch them up instantly—something med pods can't achieve.

Moreover, healing superpowers can also be weaponized."

The healer superpowered asked curiously, "How? By healing a near-death zombie and letting it revive at full health?"

This wasn’t just a joke. Back when the apocalypse first began and superpowerers were just emerging, many were still unfamiliar with their abilities. There were indeed cases where healer superpowered, in a panic, mistakenly healed zombies instead of allies, bringing back zombies their team had almost finished off.

A healing superpower could heal allies, but it could also restore zombies.

Ji An explained, "If the target is another superpowerer, it’s simple—just overload their healing. Force their heart to grow uncontrollably until it explodes in their chest. That way, they won’t even have a chance for resuscitation—lights out."

The healer superpowered’s eyes sparkled. "I’ve heard of that! A friend of a friend was once forcibly taken for healing by a desperate superpowerer. The healer got angry and made the other’s heart explode—instant death, no chance for revival.

But that only works against humans. Zombies don’t care about their hearts. Even with just a head left, they can still bite. Only a headshot takes them down."

"Then hack their nervous system," Ji An said. "Nerves transmit signals through neurons. If you keep stimulating them, even zombies will go mad from overexcitement and hallucinate. They’ll start attacking friend and foe alike—now that would be interesting!"

"How would you do that?" The healer superpowered stared blankly at Ji An for a moment before admiringly saying, "That’s why you’re the expert. I used to think you were just lucky to figure out combat methods for psychic-type superpowers. But now I see you’re simply incredibly strong—no matter what superpower you awaken, you’ll rise to the top!"

Ji An chuckled. "Thank you for the praise."

Ji An and Gu Jinsheng waved goodbye to the two female superpowerers.

The healer superpowered sighed, "He’s so amazing! And so down-to-earth too. From now on, my idol isn’t Commander-in-Chief Gu anymore—it’s Ji An!"

The space-type superpowered added, "Even though Ji An invented spatial storage devices, which tanked our street cred, I declare him my idol from now on. He’s just so charismatic! Unlike Commander-in-Chief Gu, who’s so cold and intimidating—like an emotionless killing machine!"

After leaving, Ji An teased Gu Jinsheng, "So, how does it feel for our mighty Commander-in-Chief to be demoted to a glorified camera stand?"

Gu Jinsheng looked at Ji An earnestly and said with sincerity, "You’ve earned it. The glory you should have received is far greater than this, yet I couldn’t give it to you."

Ji An usually wasn’t one to shy away from praise, but Gu Jinsheng’s genuine, heartfelt words were too much to handle. His face flushed, and he quickly changed the subject.

"About that superpowerer school or training base I mentioned earlier—do you think it’s feasible?"

"Feasible," Gu Jinsheng said. "The base already has such training, but it’s not open to the public. Other superpowerers are manageable, but what about the three rare superpower types?"

Ji An replied, "I have experience with psychic-type superpowers—I can write up a guide for others. As for the other two rare superpowers, I’ll research them. There must be combat applications."

"The New Year is coming soon. When do you plan to absorb that Zombie King’s Core—before or after?" Gu Jinsheng asked.

The Zombie King’s Core was a Level 4 mid-stage psychic core, while Ji An was at Level 4 early-stage. Since Ji An had never used a Zombie Core to advance before, this one was perfect for him—he was practically guaranteed to level up.

But Ji An shook his head. "Actually, I don’t plan to absorb it. I’ve already used it for an experiment."

Gu Jinsheng was surprised. "Why not? You earned it. Don’t listen to Zhao Zhen’s nonsense."

"I know," Ji An said. "I just don’t want to. I’m running a self-experiment—I want to see if there’s a difference between superpowerers who advance using Zombie Cores and those who don’t."

There was another reason: his Space Necklace needed energy to work. It would take Superpowered Crystal Cores but spat out Zombie Cores.

    This left Ji An baffled.

But if there's anything wrong with Zombie Cores, so far, almost all superpowereds have advanced by absorbing them, and no one has encountered any issues.

Under these circumstances, Ji An can only experiment on himself to see the difference between advancing without absorbing Zombie Cores and advancing by using them.

Otherwise, even if Ji An advocates for superpowereds not to absorb Zombie Cores, it would be useless—no one would listen to him.

Gu Jinsheng looked at Ji An thoughtfully, "Could it be related to the inherent strength of the superpower itself? Your psychic abilities are much stronger than others of the same level, allowing you to easily counter-control them."

Ji An shook his head, "Probably not. You advanced by using Zombie Cores, yet your superpower is still among the best at the same level. Kong Zhongcheng, Wan Xueying, and Zhou Qin—they all advanced with Zombie Cores, and their strength is just as impressive."

    Gu Jinsheng nodded.

Ji An continued, "Speaking of this, I just thought that if we establish a training base, we could simultaneously run psychic defense training.

One is to prevent control by psychic supers, and the other is to defend against Psychic Zombies."

"I always feel that that Psychic Zombie King wasn’t a one-off. There will only be more in the future. We need to strengthen our defenses and plan ahead.

If the Psychic Zombie King’s psychic superpower reaches a higher level, its intelligence might also increase accordingly. By then, it might even mind-jack humans, turning them into its spies and tearing us apart from the inside. That would be terrifying."

Ji An’s words gave Gu Jinsheng chills. Gu Jinsheng said, "I’ll go back and have someone find a suitable location immediately. The superpowered training base needs to get up and running ASAP—we can’t delay. The zombies won’t wait for us."

"Good. I’ll also hurry back and research the advancement methods for the other two rare superpowers."

Ji An requested a few more spatial and healing-type Zombie or Superpowered Crystal Cores from Gu Jinsheng for research.

Ji An always believed that if all superpowers exist, there must be a necessity for their existence.

This necessity isn’t just about their functions but also their combat capabilities.

Otherwise, in this danger-filled wasteland, how could a superpower with only its basic functions but no means of self-preservation survive?

For healing-type powers, Ji An already had a research direction—the neural stimulation he mentioned earlier. Starting from this angle, Ji An quickly cracked the code.

As for spacetype superpowereds, Ji An had no direction at first. Later, he found inspiration by skimming some xianxia novels.

Gu Jinsheng’s side also moved quickly, soon selecting a suitable location.

The Psychic Zombie King wouldn’t wait, and Gu Jinsheng couldn’t afford to dawdle. He directly staked out a plot of land in the suburbs and pulled all-nighters to finish it before the New Year.

The two superpowereds who had previously encountered Gu Jinsheng and Ji An at the hospital knew the base would establish a training base, but they didn’t expect it to happen so fast—classes started just a month later. They immediately rushed to sign up.

What surprised them even more was seeing Ji An and Gu Jinsheng in person.

The spacetype superpowered woman exclaimed upon seeing Ji An, "Boss, do you remember me?"

"Of course," Ji An smiled. "Without you and your friend, this superpowered training base wouldn’t exist. How could I forget you?"

The spacetype superpowered woman grinned from ear to ear. Just then, Little Rose and Little Stone arrived, barreling over like tiny missiles, leaving Ji An no time to continue the conversation.

Since both Little Stone and Little Rose had awakened superpowers, they couldn’t get the normal kid treatment. Moreover, the sooner they start training, the better.

The spacetype superpowered woman’s companion nudged her, "Bi Xue, how do you know Ji An? Weren’t you just complaining that his spatial storage tech invention knocked us off our high horse?"

Bi Xue immediately retorted sternly, "Don’t talk nonsense! I was just blowing off steam. The spatial storage tech has made our lives so much more convenient."

Her companion sighed, "That’s true. So now I have a love-hate thing about Ji An. I hope he can help us solve our combat issues this time, or I’ll go crazy not knowing whether to love or hate him."

"He will. I believe in him." Ji An returned after dropping off Little Rose and Little Stone to the neighboring classroom.

Superpowered individuals with different attributes have varying combat applications, so they are not in the same class. Little Stone and Little Rose are in the psychic superpowered class, currently taught by Na Boyu. The combat orientation for the psychic superpower was summarized by Ji An based on his own experience and taught to Na Boyu beforehand. Although Na Boyu struggled a bit, he grasped the theory.

Even if his practical skills are lacking, there’s no other choice—Ji An simply can’t split himself to teach multiple classes at once.

The healing-type superpower is handled by Xiang Xintong, who was personally taught by Ji An. She learned relatively well, with better comprehension than Na Boyu. This might be due to her prior involvement in base missions—even if she wasn’t a frontline fighter, she still had some combat experience.

As for the space-type superpowered individuals, Ji An had no choice but to take charge himself. It was admittedly quite challenging.

When class began, Ji An stepped onto the podium. "Hello everyone, my name is Ji An, a researcher. Of course, I also have another identity that might make you dislike me—the creator of the spatial storage device."

The space-type superpowered individuals sitting below clearly didn’t expect Ji An to say this. Those who had resented him before now felt too embarrassed to hold onto their grudges.

Ji An continued with a smile, "After some reflection, I realized what I did was rather unfair—stealing someone’s rice bowl and smashing their pot along with it.

Of course, my initial intention in developing the spatial storage device was indeed to ruin one particular space-type superpowered individual’s livelihood, to drag her down from the clouds into the mud, ensuring she could never rise again—forced to wallow in jealousy as I rose to glory.

As for the grudge between me and that space-type lady, I won’t elaborate here. If you’re curious, you can dig into it on your own time."

"Ooh!" Ji An’s offhand remarks quickly bridged the gap between him and the space-type superpowered individuals. Many who had harbored resentment or prejudice now let go of those feelings, drawn in by his charisma.

Ji An blinked playfully. "However, I must clarify—my intention was only to smash that one space-type lady’s pot, not all space-type superpowered individuals’. You were just collateral damage. If you’re angry, don’t blame me—blame her. She’s the real culprit.

After all, she was the one who offended a big shot like me, dragging down her entire kind!"

    "Ooh!!!"

The jeers grew louder, but Ji An paid no mind. He raised a finger and shook it lightly. "Alright, now let’s get started."

"First, since all of you are space-type superpowered individuals, the most basic function is storage. I won’t waste time on that—you’re all far more familiar with it than I am."

Bi Xue muttered under her breath, "That’s not necessarily true."

Everyone present, with their enhanced senses, heard her clearly. Considering Ji An’s invention of the spatial storage device, it was debatable whether the space-type superpowered individuals or Ji An himself had a deeper understanding of spatial storage technology.

Ji An chuckled. "Alright, at the very least, everyone here knows how to do it. So we won’t go into detail. If anyone wants to discuss it, we can do so privately."

"What I’m going to teach now is another fundamental combat application of spatial superpower."

"What?" Bi Xue couldn’t help but exclaim. "Spatial superpower can be used for combat?"

"Of course. Every superpower exists for a reason, and spatial superpower is no exception. In fact, it might even be more potent than others." Ji An smiled. "Have you ever read cultivation novels?"

"Yes, but what does that have to do with it?" Bi Xue asked.

"Have you heard of Spatial Blade and Spatial Slash in those novels?"

"Of course, but aren’t those just fantasy tropes?"

Ji An grinned. "Before I invented the spatial storage device, people also told me it was something that only existed in fiction. But reality proved that we shouldn’t limit our imagination—sometimes, it’s good to think boldly."

"So… Spatial Blade and Spatial Slash are real?" Bi Xue grew excited. "Can we space-type superpowered individuals use them?"

"That’s what I’ve been researching in the lab. I successfully replicated Spatial Blade and Spatial Slash using space-type cores. Now, whether they can be applied in practice depends on you space-type superpowered individuals."

Ji An sketched a simple diagram on the whiteboard, illustrating the principles he used in his experiments. "Let’s start with Spatial Blade—it’s simpler. Its principle is the opposite of storing objects in space. Storage is about ‘taking in,’ while Spatial Blade is about ‘releasing.’

Channel spatial energy to form a blade in your hand, just like how other superpowered individuals can create wind blades or other energy blades."

At this point, Ji An drew a simplified figure on the whiteboard, wielding a Spatial Blade that sliced through a zombie’s skull.

"The second technique, Spatial Slash, is a bit more complex and has certain requirements for superpowers. It utilizes the principle of spatial dislocation." Ji An drew a zombie head that was split into two halves by spatial dislocation.

"Alright, now everyone can give it a try. Let's start with Spatial Blade first."

The spatial-type superpowered individuals in the room were completely lost. They could understand every word Ji An said, but when strung together, it made no sense to them.

Bi Xue remembered Ji An mentioning something about a force opposite to storage. She held her breath, trying to locate that opposing force. By the end, her face turned bright red, and with a loud shout, all the chairs, desks, even the whiteboard and marker Ji An was using disappeared completely.

Many students didn’t react in time, and as the chairs beneath them disappeared, they landed hard on their butts. The classroom erupted in laughter, leaving Bi Xue flushed with embarrassment.

"Researcher Ji, you’re way out of our league. Could you explain it more plainly or maybe demonstrate it for us?" Bi Xue said, her face still red.

Ji An pondered for a moment. "These techniques were figured out from my experiments with spatial cores, and I haven’t applied them practically yet, so I can’t demonstrate. As for simplifying it, this is the most straightforward explanation based on my experimental principles."

Bi Xue was disappointed. Learning this way was like being told there was treasure buried in her yard but given no clues—digging like crazy but coming up empty, leaving her frustrated.

"Actually, there is one method: mind invasion," Ji An said. "Is anyone willing to let me invade their mind so I can take control of their body and demonstrate Spatial Blade and Spatial Slash? If successful, you’ll immediately understand how to harness that spatial force."

A male superpowered named Wang Dazhi spoke up, "Researcher Ji, I remember during the base commendation ceremony, they said your superpower was destroyed while saving those children. How can you still perform mind invasion now?"

Ji An patiently explained, "That was a big misunderstanding, just like how many thought I was dead when I wasn’t." He didn’t elaborate further, keeping it brief.

"Of course, I can guarantee that this is only a quick borrow of your body to experiment with Spatial Slash and Spatial Blade. I won’t rifle through your memories at all. I’m willing to put up all the profits from my spatial storage devices under my name as collateral. If I so much as glance at even what you had for breakfast, I’ll hand over all the profits to you," Ji An assured.

The spatial-type students below exchanged glances, muttering to each other.

Wang Dazhi spoke again, "But as far as I know, psychic superpowered individuals can conceal their intrusion, making the target believe nothing was seen."

"I’ve heard that too," another spatial-type superpowered added.

Wang Dazhi continued, "Researcher Ji was declared dead when he wasn’t, and now he’s supposedly lost his superpower when he hasn’t. The base has so many high-level superpowered individuals—how could they make such mistakes? It’s likely Researcher Ji’s psychic superpower doing the trick.

His psychic superpower allowed him to save those children from dozens of mid-level superpowered individuals without a scratch. If he wanted to peek into our memories and make us believe he didn’t, messing with our memories would be a cakewalk."

All the spatial-type superpowered individuals fell silent. Wang Dazhi’s words rang true—Ji An indeed had that capability.

Ji An looked at the solemn faces below. "Any volunteers?"

    Silence.

Ji An shrugged, not pressing the matter. "Too bad. It seems you’ll have to figure it out yourselves, though the process might take a hell of a lot longer. But I believe you can do it."

"Researcher Ji, I volunteer!" Bi Xue suddenly raised her hand.

Wang Dazhi tugged at her sleeve. "Aren’t you afraid?"

Bi Xue shook her head. "No. I’ve got nothing to hide. The only secret I have is my credit password, but my stash is peanuts next to Researcher Ji’s—not even worth his time.

As for other secrets… well, I’ve had crushes on a few people, had some fantasies…"

Her face turned red again. Ji An quickly interjected, "Relax, I’ve got way juicier stuff in my head than anything you’ve imagined. I won’t bother with your… bland daydreams."

Bi Xue turned even redder. "I didn’t imagine anything beyond harmless what-ifs about the future! Researcher Ji, don’t put words in my mouth!"

"Alright, alright. Chill, I won’t snoop—no matter what," Ji An said firmly.

Bi Xue was about to walk up to the podium when Wang Dazhi asked, "Have you thought it through?"

Bi Xue nodded. "I have. I trust the character of Big Bro. Besides, I actually hope he accidentally sees something—that way, all the profits from his spatial storage device will be mine. I’d become rich overnight, with more money than I could spend in a lifetime. Then why bother learning combat skills? I’d just go home and live a carefree life, hiring a hundred or two superpowered individuals to protect me."

"What ambition!" Ji An remarked. "In that case, it seems I’m the one who needs to be careful not to cross the line, or I’ll lose everything and end up homeless."

Everyone burst into laughter, easing the previously tense atmosphere.

Bi Xue stepped onto the podium, and Ji An released his psychic energy, invading the shallow layers of her brain without delving into her memory regions.

"Now, let’s build some synergy first. Relax your mind and don’t resist me. Imagine yourself as a puppet, and I’m the puppet master pulling the strings. Whichever string I tug, you follow with the corresponding movement." Ji An was establishing trust between them. If Bi Xue resisted while he controlled her superpower, it could trigger a power backlash, endangering both of them.

"Good. Now, move your right hand." As Ji An spoke, Bi Xue’s right hand lifted slightly.

Those sitting below couldn’t sense it, but Bi Xue knew—her hand hadn’t moved on its own. It felt as if an invisible string had pulled it up.

"Now, your left leg." Bi Xue’s left leg rose.

"Excellent. Next, blink your right eye..." Ji An continued like this for a few minutes until Bi Xue was completely relaxed and trusting. Then he said, "Now, let’s begin superpower training. First, the Spatial Blade. Let’s channel the energy flow..."

Ji An manipulated Bi Xue to release everything she had stored in her spatial storage. "Yes, just like that. Now, gather spatial energy in your palm and form the Spatial Blade..."

Everyone watched as a hazy energy slowly coalesced in Bi Xue’s hand, gradually taking the form of a blade. Then, under Ji An’s control, she swung it down, slicing rows of wooden desks and chairs cleanly in half. Even the floor was split open, leaving a chasm.

The space-type superpowered individuals had fought before, but they had only used crude energy discharges. The Spatial Blade Ji An demonstrated was at least ten times more powerful than their crude releases. Moreover, it involved manifesting spatial energy into a tangible blade—a technique usually mastered only by mid- to high-level superpowered individuals, even in other superpower disciplines.

Bi Xue couldn’t believe her spatial superpower could be so devastating. She was startled, then exhilarated.

"Good," Ji An said. "Let’s continue. Next, we’ll test the Spatial Slash. This one operates on principles of spatial displacement. Give me a moment to think."

Despite his words, Bi Xue felt Ji An didn’t hesitate at all before using her body to unleash the superpower. The desk in front of her was instantly split down the middle, split into two misaligned halves.

A more accurate description would be spatial displacement—the desk was divided, and everyone nearby, including Bi Xue herself, momentarily sensed the spatial distortion.

"Wow!" The classroom erupted in cheers, followed by thunderous applause.

The commotion was so intense that students and teachers from the neighboring classroom were drawn in. Na Boyu asked, "What’s going on?"

Ji An smiled. "I just taught a student how to use the Spatial Blade and Spatial Slash."

"What’s that?" Na Boyu looked puzzled.

Students immediately began explaining excitedly. Na Boyu’s eyes lit up as he approached the dislocated desk, staring at the half-meter gap between its two halves with fervor. "If we can master this spatial displacement technique, science will reach new heights."

Seeing Na Boyu completely distracted, eager to rush off and research immediately, Ji An said, "We can discuss that later. For now, let’s focus on the lesson."

But Na Boyu was no longer in the mood to teach. "I want to see spatial displacement. I’m sure my students do too."

Among his students were Little Rose and Little Stone, both newly awakened superpowered and curious about everything. They eagerly nodded in agreement.

Ji An said helplessly and turned to Bi Xue. "I’ve already guided the spatial energy flow through your body once. Try it yourself now."

"Okay." Nervous with everyone watching, Bi Xue didn’t back down. She attempted to circulate spatial energy.

She started with the simpler Spatial Slash, trying several times before finally forming the Spatial Blade—though it worked. Next was the Spatial Slash, which proved much harder. After much effort, breaking out in sweat, just as everyone was about to give up, she succeeded.

But the result was nowhere near as strong as what Ji An had achieved.

The table that Ji An spatially misaligned had a staggering half-meter gap between its misaligned halves. In contrast, the table Bi Xue displaced only shifted by a few centimeters—so slight that without everyone watching closely, the slight misalignment might have gone unnoticed, making it seem as if she had simply split the table directly with spatial energy.

Even so, the trainees were deeply envious of Bi Xue. At least she had grasped the technique of spatial displacement—the rest was just a matter of practice.

"Excellent!" Ji An started clapping, while Na Boyu gazed intently at the table that had just been displaced right before his eyes, looking as if he wished he could start studying it immediately.

"Anyone else want me to teach them mentally?" Ji An believed this method was efficient—once he knew the trick, he could simultaneously invade multiple minds and teach them all at once, speeding up the process.

But no one volunteered, even with Bi Xue’s example right before them.

It was understandable. Everyone had their own secrets—having someone snooping through their phone was hard enough to accept, let alone having their mind invaded.

    Ji An didn’t push it.

"Alright, if no one is willing, then everyone can try practicing on their own first. If you have any questions, ask me or Bi Xue," Ji An said.

Wang Dazhi whispered to Bi Xue, "He really didn’t peek into your memories?"

    Bi Xue replied, "No."

Wang Dazhi pressed, "How can you be sure? Maybe Ji An altered your memory to make you think he didn’t look?"

Bi Xue frowned. "Who knows? But I don’t care. Right now, I’ve learned *Spatial Blade* and *Spatial Slash*—that’s enough. Besides, I don’t think I have any memories worth risking exposure for, especially not in front of everyone. And I doubt the expert had time to both teach me and sift through my memories."

Wang Dazhi shook his head. "You’re underestimating Ji An’s abilities. He’s far more capable than you think."

Bi Xue shrugged. "If you don’t want your memories seen, then don’t let him in. Just practice on your own—it’s not like he’s forcing you."

Wang Dazhi fell silent. Just then, a guard entered with a bouquet of roses. "Someone just delivered these, saying they were ordered by a student here."

Ji An paid it no mind, even joking, "Which romantic soul here ordered roses? Step forward and claim them."

Wang Dazhi stood up, with a meek, sweet smile. "Researcher Ji, the roses are from me—just for you!"

Oh-ho! Now this is drama! The Command Unit’s superpowered agents present immediately turned their gazes toward Gu Jinsheng, who had also been lured over by the scene.

The Command and Research Units knew full well—their Commander-in-Chief was actively pursuing Ji An and still hadn’t sealed the deal!

Even the two kids, Little Rose and Little Stone, stared wide-eyed between Gu Jinsheng and Wang Dazhi, their eyes alight with gossipy glee!
