Chapter 1: The Protagonist Uke and His Four Suitors (Part 1)

"Host, get ready. You can be done after giving him a kick," 006 chirped cheerfully in Shu Xian's ear.

"Hmph, watch my performance~" Shu Xian replied to 006 in his mind.

He watched the figure descending the stairs.

Shu Xian stepped forward with a mocking sneer and said, "Well, well, if it isn't the bastard my fifty-something-year-old dad had outside—

    Huh?

You scrub up alright, I guess, but you can't wash away the filth you're covered in."

Seeing Li Wu remain impassive, Shu Xian frowned in displeasure. What's with this reaction? If he's indifferent, how am I supposed to find an excuse to kick him?

    So inconsiderate.

But this protagonist uke is quite handsome—neat short hair, sickly pale skin, deep-set eyes, and a gaze with an irresistible pull. That suit makes him look even more noble and elegant.

"So unfair. I want a face like that too," Shu Xian grumbled internally.

"Host, you're plenty good-looking yourself. You're not worse than him," 006 hurriedly comforted, thinking his host was the most handsome~

    "Hmph, of course!"

"I'm warning you, don't think just because you're back in this house, it's yours," Shu Xian snapped at Li Wu and gave him a kick.

With that kick, Shu Xian almost cried. Is Li Wu's leg made of steel? So damn hard.

Gritting his teeth against the pain, he walked upstairs. Damn it, his leg was definitely bruised.

Li Wu watched the retreating figure. The youth was just over twenty, with outstanding looks and captivating features that would make anyone instantly like him.

Yet, it was this very youth who, with a gentle expression, uttered such chilling words.

Hah, in this life, he had no energy to bother with this insignificant ant.

He would never again become an object fought over by those men. Those men didn't love him; they only fought over him to flaunt their own power.

    Hah, truly laughable.

Back in his room, Shu Xian took off his socks to find a dark bruise on the top of his foot. Damn it, how can a weak uke have such hard legs? It seriously doesn't match the novel.

"Oh my, Host, your foot is all bruised," 006 squawked in his mind.

"File it as a work injury. Give me some compensation," Shu Xian seized the chance to ask 006 for something. Actually, this body was just too weak; even a light touch would make the skin redden.

"Then I'll compensate you with an 'invulnerable' buff, valid for one hour."

"Okay, I'll call you when I need to use it." Hehe, something worth a thousand points for free. Shu Xian happily rubbed his foot; it didn't seem to hurt as much anymore.

"Host, does it hurt less now?" His own host, he had to pamper~

"Mhm, it's okay. If you gave a bit more, it might have healed completely," Shu Xian pretended to be nonchalant.

"I can't, Host. I'd get penalized for breaking the rules. If you do your tasks well, there will be plenty of rewards later."

That's right, Shu Xian had died. Just before dying, he was bound by 006.

As long as he completed the tasks of supplementing the novel's plot to make the story complete,

he could later choose a task world to live in, complete with a villa and a 200 million reward.

In his previous life, Shu Xian had no family. From the time he was old enough to understand anything, he was in

an orphanage. After the director raised him to adulthood, he started working in society.

He wanted to earn lots and lots of money to repay the director, but working day and night overtime led to his death from overwork.

Before binding with 006, Shu Xian asked 006 to advance him 100 million as a reward and transfer it anonymously to the orphanage director's name.

    006 agreed.

Although he could never return to that world, Shu Xian felt at ease knowing the director would receive that money.

The current task was to make trouble for the protagonist uke, Li Wu. Once the four men who liked him appeared and they got together, Shu Xian could log off.

Actually, Li Wu wasn't the biological child of the original host's father; he was the child of a more famous, now-declined aristocratic family. Shu Xian's father had searched for a long time before finally bringing Li Wu back.

Only when Li Wu turned nineteen would Shu Xian's father give him the property entrusted by Li Wu's father.

But strangely, this timeline is off.

In the original work, Li Wu wasn't found until he was twenty. The current Li Wu is only eighteen. Why so much earlier?

"006, are you sure the current plot has no issues? The protagonist uke came back so early," Shu Xian couldn't help but ask.

"Host, rest assured. Everything checks out fine on our end," 006 responded after scanning the plot again.

If there's no problem, then fine.

"So, have the four suitors appeared yet?" Four wealthy and powerful men were supposed to meet the protagonist uke separately at his workplace.

"Backend detection shows not yet," 006 said after checking.

"Not yet? Has the meeting time changed too?" By now, they should have each started pursuing Li Wu one-sidedly, though the four weren't aware of each other's existence.

"Host, delays in timing are normal. I once had a host whose task was to have a romantic relationship, but the character from the plot didn't appear until they were fifty."

"Ridiculous... That's just a laughable relationship." He began to doubt this system's reliability.

What if the four men never showed up? Would he have to wait forever?

"Host, don't worry. They will appear. That fifty-year wait was just a probability event," 006 comforted, sensing Shu Xian's doubt.

"Alright then. If you screw me over, I'll file a complaint." Hmph.

"Wah wah, Host is so cruel. If I get complained about, I'll be recalled, and you won't see me anymore, wah wah," the virtual little figure in his mental space jumped up and down.

"Alright, I was just teasing you."

Only then did 006 stop its crying act.

Shu Xian's parents were always busy with the company's business and rarely came home. Now, only Shu Xian and Li Wu were in the villa.

The housekeeper cooked the meals, cleaned up, and then left.

After lunch, Shu Xian sprawled on the sofa scrolling through his phone.

Li Wu came downstairs and saw Shu Xian wearing a white cashmere sweater. The loose-fitting garment had slipped with his side-lying posture, revealing sharp collarbones.

Paired with black shorts, his slender legs were draped over the sofa arm. From Li Wu's angle, he could even make out the fair skin of Shu Xian's upper thighs and that small...

Li Wu's gaze darkened as he walked toward the dining room.

After the meal, Li Wu felt a flicker of surprise. In his previous life, Shu Xian had never let him eat in peace—always picking fights or seizing chances to harm him.

Could Shu Xian be reborn too?

At the thought, a cold glint flashed in his eyes, and a wave of intense killing intent surged through him.

No one would stop him in this life...

A moment later, his eyes regained their cold, detached indifference.

He walked over to Shu Xian.

With no tasks at hand, Shu Xian couldn't be bothered with him and continued lounging at ease.

Li Wu stood there quietly, watching him.

Shu Xian inwardly roared, *Is he nuts? Don't make me slap you—I'm off duty!*

"What, you need a seat?" Shu Xian said, drawing his slender legs back.

    Li Wu actually sat down!?

*Is he insane? There are sofas on both sides, and he has to sit right here?*

"Well, well, trying to please me?" Shu Xian's lips curled in a mocking smirk as he placed his slender legs on Li Wu's lap. "Massage your big brother's legs, and I'll have your back from now on."
