The car stopped, and Ye Chengxing hadn't spoken yet. Li Jia looked out the window.

The sunlight faded, and the sky had darkened. But as it was time, the streetlights lit up. Because of the lights, it wasn't completely dark.

At that moment, she heard Ye Chengxing finally speak.

"Li Jia." She called her name, and her voice sounded nothing like she had imagined it would be—without anger, disappointment, or any other uncomfortable emotions of misunderstanding.

The car was actually getting quite dark, but with light filtering in, it wasn't completely shrouded in darkness.

In the darkness, there is always light.

"I'm actually quite happy to hear you say you don't trust me," Ye Chengxing spoke, her voice calm, even carrying a faint, gentle laugh as usual.

Hearing that laugh, Li Jia felt her heartstrings tug, becoming even more disordered.

She turned her gaze back and looked at Ye Chengxing.
