After arriving at the hospital, Ye Chengxing headed straight for the ward number her agent had given her for Li Jia.

As she spoke, she walked over to Ye Chengxing, her gaze falling on the phone in her hand. "Who were you talking to, Sister?"

The person on the other end of the line clearly heard the conversation and their voice trembled. "Chengxing, Chengxing, it's..."

The chaos on the line made it almost impossible for Ye Chengxing to understand anything. Her eardrums throbbed, and she hung up the call.

After hanging up, she looked at Li Jia, her expression serious. She didn't use a nickname but addressed her directly. "Li Jia."

The more she thought about it, the more serious her expression became. As she lifted Omega into her arms, she couldn't help but lightly smack Li Jia's bottom, producing a slightly embarrassing sound. "Your leg isn't healed yet. Why did you get out of bed without shoes? Do I have to be strict with you for you to take care of yourself?"

Li Jia blinked and replied softly, "I won't do it again next time."

She subtly rubbed against Ye Chengxing's hair and said innocently, "Actually, I came over because I heard some noise from the bathroom. It sounded chaotic, and when I realized you weren't around, I thought something might have happened."

Hearing Li Jia's words, Ye Chengxing paused. She stroked Omega's hair and carried her back to bed. "Don't worry, I'm fine. Someone just called and said some strange things."

She helped Li Jia under the covers and raised her eyes to find Li Jia looking at her intently. "Was it your family? I think I heard something about an arranged marriage..."

Ye Chengxing hadn't expected Li Jia to hear that. She nodded then shook her head. "I'm not entirely sure what's going on. The line was too chaotic to make sense of much."

She was certain something had happened in the Ye family, but their sudden call was odd. Not only were their words confusing, but their tone was filled with fear. Although she had long suspected something fishy within the Ye family, she hadn't taken any action yet.

And who was this person they kept mentioning, the one she could supposedly persuade? According to the Ye family, she should know this person.

Ye Chengxing thought about the people in her life.

There weren't many, and her relationships were simple. None of them had the power to scare the Ye family like this.

Could it be someone the original body knew?

...Perhaps she would investigate further tomorrow.

With that thought, Ye Chengxing noticed Li Jia still watching her. The contemplative look in her eyes faded as she smiled. Just as she was about to speak, Li Jia asked again, "So, Sister didn't even know who the arranged marriage partner was? You've never met them?"
