    Chapter 11

    Ao Tian: "You're such a troublemaker~"

Hehe, it likes a mischievous host.

Jiang Mo gaped in disbelief at the scene before him. Chen Xiu was actually moving away? Where was he going? Why the sudden move? Was he unable to bear Jiang Mo's surveillance any longer, seeking a new environment to escape him?

    Why?

    Why couldn't he just behave!

But he's so poor—how could he afford a moving company?

Jiang Mo nearly tore down the curtains in his grip, watching as Chen Xiu, under the bright morning sun, directed the moving crew with a look of liberated relief on his face.

Was he so happy just at the thought of getting rid of me?

    How utterly naive.

The moment Chen Xiu took out his phone, the smile instantly vanished from his face.

"No matter where you move, I'll always be watching you."

"See you at the new place."

Chen Xiu almost threw his phone. He stared at these two messages, and for a moment, he felt like giving up. Fine, whatever. The other party hadn’t done anything too extreme besides surveilling him. Fine, no more struggling. Just live under their watch.

"All packed up?" Xiao Hang appeared. The man was impeccably dressed in a suit, handsome and dashing, and his tone automatically softened when he spoke to Chen Xiu.

Chen Xiu snapped back to reality and locked his phone. Looking at Xiao Hang approaching in the daylight, he still wanted to struggle a bit more. Perhaps Xiao Hang was his salvation.

    Just give himself a chance.

    "Yeah!"

    "All packed, let's go."

"Xiao Hang—" Jiang Mo gritted his teeth as he uttered the name. Him again! Had the two of them completely gotten together? Was Chen Xiu moving in with Xiao Hang?

Were they going to live together?

Jiang Mo radiated dark, ominous energy, nearly driven to madness by the thought. His eyes, fixed on Xiao Hang, were filled with dangerous killing intent. Without realizing it, he pulled so hard on the curtains that the curtain rod came down with them, clattering when it hit his head and then his foot.

Jiang Mo covered his head in frustration, lifting his injured foot as he staggered backward.

The moving truck drove out of the complex, followed by a luxury sedan.

Chen Zui leisurely watched from his car across the street, enjoying the AC. He’d come this morning mainly to see how dark Jiang Mo’s face would be. Before long, Jiang Mo emerged, dressed in black and carrying a backpack. He stood for a long time, staring in the direction the car had left, before finally looking away gloomily. Though anxious, he couldn’t get time off and still had to go to work.

Chen Zui curled his lips in a smile. Jiang Mo’s face was as dark as he’d imagined.

Ao Tian: "This guy is plotting something sinister."

    Chen Zui: "Oh?"

Ao Tian: "I'll keep it a mystery for now. You’ll find out tonight, (#^^#)."

Chen Zui drove off and went to the company to start working on the charity fund. Although this was just a book, to keep the small world running, everyone else—even those not described by the author—had to live normal lives. So, this world also had left-behind children, elderly people, and others.

Since he couldn’t take the money from this world with him anyway, Chen Zui thought he might as well do something meaningful. Back when he was a mercenary, he earned a lot but had few chances to spend it. He’d sponsored many children who couldn’t afford school and even invested in building a school.

He had some experience in this area, though this time he could expand his efforts on a larger scale.

Chen Zui flipped through the materials. This charity fund had two projects: one focused on education for left-behind children, and the other on medical care for elderly left behind.

    He reviewed them carefully.

"What will my identity be in the next world?" Chen Zui asked Ao Tian, diverting some of his attention. If possible, he hoped his identity in every world would be a wealthy, domineering CEO—because it was really satisfying.

    Ao Tian: "It’s a secret~"

Chen Zui: "Then have you found my consolation reward yet?"

Ao Tian: "Yes, but it’s still a secret~ Just look forward to it."

Chen Zui ended this unproductive conversation. It was more meaningful to review the materials in his hands. From time to time, he picked up a pen to jot down necessary changes.

In the afternoon, he attended another meeting, completing a productive day. After changing clothes and cars, he prepared to go watch the show.

23:00. Xiao Hang had just left the company. A project had encountered a significant issue, forcing even him, the boss, to work overtime with employees to devise a solution.

But the thought of returning home to see Chen Xiu made Xiao Hang feel significantly less tired.

The elevator went straight to the underground parking garage. Xiao Hang jangled his car keys with a fairly good mood as he walked toward his reserved parking spot. The garage was poorly lit, especially with many blind spots behind the pillars.

Xiao Hang pressed his car key, and an Aston Martin beeped in response.

He walked closer with his long legs, opened the car door, and just as he was about to bend down to get in, a figure emerged from behind the car. The person threw a bag over Xiao Hang’s head and pulled the drawstring tight, instantly tightening around Xiao Hang’s neck.

The attacker moved swiftly and decisively, with the determination of someone who’d long wanted to do this.

Xiao Hang instinctively reached for his neck with one hand while swinging blindly with the other.

    "Who is it?" he demanded.

Jiang Mo, completely concealed, had excitement flashing in his dark eyes. He threw a punch directly at Xiao Hang’s head. Despite his slender appearance, he still had a toned physique and was a 180cm tall adult man. The punch nearly knocked Xiao Hang to the ground.

Xiao Hang staggered and crashed into the car, shouting, "Security! Security!"

He yelled while backing away along the car, desperately trying to remove the bag from his head. He fumbled with the drawstring, not understanding how it worked, and accidentally pulled it tighter.

Jiang Mo ruthlessly delivered a second punch, aiming right at his face.

In a parking spot across the way, an unassuming black Volkswagen was parked between two cars. Chen Zui, in the driver’s seat, propped his chin on his hand as he watched the scene.

The bag-over-head and drawstring pull were performed neatly, but the punching posture was wrong, and the method of applying force was incorrect. Punching like that would not only exhaust the attacker but also fail to deliver the most severe damage.

    Chen Zui’s assessment: Needs improvement.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Xiao Hang had already hidden behind the car's rear.

Jiang Mo glanced at him but didn't wait around. He turned and ran. As he passed by Chen Zui’s car, Chen Zui saw Jiang Mo’s eyes shining for the first time, filled with triumphant joy.

He must be thrilled right now.

Let him enjoy a few more minutes of happiness.

The security guard rushed over, and Xiao Hang finally managed to remove the bag from his head, revealing a big bruise on his face. Furious, he looked around but saw no one. In the end, he could only scowl at the security guard with a dark expression.

    Security Guard: ...

Am I gonna lose my job?

    *

Jiang Mo dashed into a nearby alley with no cameras. Having worked in the area for so long, he had long since scouted the surroundings and knew them like the back of his hand.

He leaned against the alley wall, removed his mask, and took several deep breaths. His heart was pounding wildly in his chest—truth be told, he had no experience with stuff like this.

    Pretty thrilling.

A grin spread across his handsome face.

When Xiao Hang sees Chen Xiu, Chen Xiu will realize he can’t escape his clutches.

Just as he took out his phone, a message popped up.

    His pupils shrank instantly.

An unknown sender had sent a photo—it was him beating up Xiao Hang in the parking lot just moments ago. Although no one’s face was clearly visible, that didn’t matter anymore.

?: "I’ve been watching you the whole time."

Jiang Mo gritted his teeth. If the other party sent this photo to Xiao Hang, he’d likely not only lose his job but also land in a police station. The panic he had deliberately ignored now caught up to him, a beat too late.

In the darkness, Jiang Mo, who’d just done something bad, was about to fall apart.

The darkened phone screen lit up again, blindingly bright in the dark and catching Jiang Mo’s eye.

    ?: "Look to your left."

Sometimes, the human body instinctively follows orders like these. Almost without hesitation, Jiang Mo looked to his left.

At the narrow end of the alley, a man’s figure was looming large against the light behind him. The shadow stretching forward seemed like a clawing, devilish monster reaching for him.

    Jiang Mo’s breath hitched.

His hand, pressed against the wall, unconsciously tightened.

The other man walked toward him slowly, step by step moving away from the light behind him and into the darkness, bringing with him a crushing sense of pressure and endless danger.

Jiang Mo felt almost swallowed by the other’s shadow. His pupils trembled with fear, and the arm that had once been dislocated suddenly ached with a sharp, stabbing pain. He remembered the subway, the bar, the first time the other had cut his throat from behind, and the day before when he had dislocated his arm.

But another thought emerged: He’s here. Catch him! Kill him!

Kill the one who knows all your secrets!

Jiang Mo pressed himself against the wall like a gecko, unmoving, his eyes fixed intently on Chen Zui.

Chen Zui strolled toward him casually. He wore a cap almost identical to Jiang Mo’s, but unlike Jiang Mo’s mask, he wore a pitch-black mask that even concealed his eyes.

Like a black hole, like an abyss.

Something that traps you with no escape.

Jiang Mo bravely threw a punch, flinging some fine sand he had secretly scraped from the wall toward Chen Zui.

But it was useless. His fist was easily blocked, and the next second, both his hands were seized. He was spun around and slammed hard against the wall.

Like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

Jiang Mo was terrified and shocked. Who exactly was this person? How could he be so skilled?

"There are no surveillance cameras here."

Chen Zui spoke. He had discovered the best angle to admire Jiang Mo—from behind, pulling his arms upward to accentuate the curve of his waist into something breathtaking, his hips arching into a fuller, more pronounced shape.

To look at him, the other would have to turn his head sideways.

So he could also admire half of Jiang Mo’s face, flushed with a mix of shyness and anger. Quite beautiful.

He took a step forward, pressing close.

Almost using Jiang Mo’s hips for support.

"Guess what I’m going to do next?"
