Chapter 24: Emoticons (Revised, 100 words added)

Sexia was captivating, at least to Xierlan.

He was like a dazzling, profound magnet, every facet drawing Xierlan in, especially at this moment. Xierlan couldn't bring himself to meet his gaze, too flustered to speak.

Sexia noticed Xierlan’s shy, embarrassed demeanor. He gently raised a hand to caress Xierlan’s cheek. There were no superfluous movements, yet it made Xierlan’s heart pound.

    “Sexia…”

Xierlan reached out, unable to resist softly calling his name, his eyes shimmering.

He placed his hand over Sexia’s, the soft, warm touch unmistakably real. Xierlan’s eyelids fluttered, and the flush on his earlobes deepened.

He tightened his grip, holding Sexia’s hand in his palm as if cradling a hard-won treasure.

He loved him too much to deny it.

The moment Xierlan saw him, he knew he wanted to spend his life with Sexia. His affection was so profound that even without certainty of a future together, he resolutely embraced his desires and impulses.

Though it seemed somewhat reckless, Xierlan was sure of his feelings for Sexia. He didn't want to wait until he was hopelessly smitten to pursue a relationship; that would be a tremendous waste of time.

But now, it was clearly too much. Xierlan’s face was completely flushed, a deep crimson. His dark eyes shimmered with an ineffable glow. After Sexia kissed the corner of his mouth, he was overwhelmed, closing his eyes, actively wrapping his arms around Sexia’s neck, lifting his head to kiss him, pulling Sexia into his embrace, letting him relax and sit on his lap, parting his lips to accept his intimate demands.

Xierlan was flushed, the heat refusing to subside, the atmosphere intensifying until it was almost unbearable.

Xierlan instinctively cupped Sexia’s waist and hips, his fingertips leaving faint indentations. He pulled Sexia closer, their posture intimate. As he lifted his head to kiss, his throat worked constantly from the deep kisses. Xierlan’s fingers slipped under Sexia’s clothes, gradually trailing kisses downward.

Sexia relied on him, craved him even more. It wasn't just a natural physiological response from pheromone dependency; it was because Sexia genuinely adored Xierlan from the inside out, making him even more sensitive and overwhelmed by the contact.

Sexia’s thighs began to tremble, his muffled moans growing erratic.

Xierlan withdrew his hand, silencing those gasps with kisses. Their original plan for an early night was postponed, and by the time they finished, it was well past midnight.

Sexia clung to him, his body emitting a faint, clean fragrance that almost completely masked the scent of the bath gel.

Xierlan loved this scent, perhaps because it belonged to Sexia. So whenever he caught this aroma, he instinctively felt calm and comfortable, his heart softening, and he affectionately pulled Sexia into his arms to sleep.

Aww, this is too adorable. Sexia is so well-behaved.

Xierlan was melting from happiness, his eyes sparkling as he nuzzled the male insect's cheek, clinging to him like a little puppy.

Sexia was overwhelmed by pheromones, too comfortable and drowsy to react, just placing a hand on Xierlan's waist and asking softly, dazedly, "My Lord?"

The Lord was melting from cuteness^^.

Xierlan leaned in, eyes sparkling, tapping the male insect's cheek gently, his tone tender, "What did Sexia just call me?"

Even though Sexia wasn't prepared, he knew Xierlan was teasing him. Embarrassed, he reached out to hug him, pressing his cheek entirely against Xierlan's chest.

    He said slowly,

    "My Lord."

Xierlan's heart felt like it was soaking in warm water; he simply had no resistance against the male insect. His eyes shimmered, and he couldn't help resting his head, gently pinching Sexia's soft cheek. "Mhm, your Lord is here."

Sexia's cheeks visibly flushed. He couldn't say anything, so he just quietly buried himself against the human.

Xierlan was quite excessive, ruffling his hair. He originally wanted to tease him more but ended up obediently holding him until they fell asleep until morning.

The next morning, Xierlan was still the one cooking. After the meal, he slung his backpack over his shoulder and headed back to the correctional facility.

Because he had such a comfortable time with Sexia, he was reluctant to leave. As he walked in, he looked back at Sexia, who just smiled, eyes curving, and waved goodbye very cutely.

"Baby, I'll message you from time to time. Just check when you have a chance."

The human was dressed simply—a white top and black pants, radiating a clean, boyish charm. The pink backpack he carried was bright and cheerful. As he waved at Sexia, the smile at the corner of his mouth made one's heart soften instantly.

Sexia's expression shifted slightly, and he curved his lips to bid him farewell.

After a night apart, when Xierlan returned to the classroom, the few male insects immediately turned to look at him in unison.

Xierlan raised an eyebrow, about to ask why they were staring, when he saw Miao Qie quickly flash a proud smile, shaking his light brain as if to show off.

"Come look at my primary consort!"

Xierlan instinctively wondered what this insect was thinking but walked over to look. Inside was a photo of his primary consort without showing his face, but with a few buttons undone, revealing glossy, full pectoral muscles.

Xierlan felt as if facing a great enemy, quickly averting his eyes, annoyed. "Why are you showing me this?!!"

The other two didn't understand why he reacted so strongly. Haibi stiffened his neck and said, "We all looked. It's fine for you to see too."

Xierlan suddenly smiled very sinisterly. The three opposite him instantly felt their tail spikes tingled, and they all shrank back like scared quails.

He said very seriously, "You clearly haven't learned the essence. First, think about what your primary consorts are like."

99 sensed the romantic tension, but seeing the state of these three male insects, his excited expression immediately fell, looking utterly disgusted. But since he was already out, he quietly watched the scene unfold.

Once this topic came up, Miao Qie had an endless stream of things to say. "My primary consort is so rough, only his face is passable, but he never backs down no matter the challenge..."

He remembered he couldn't insult him and, seeing Xierlan's amused expression, immediately became honest. "I followed your method and talked to him, didn't scold him, asked about our offspring, and asked for a photo. He sent it without a word."

99 floated over to look, and his eyes went straight. "Damn, he's a total dilf."

    Xierlan facepalmed.

Haibi was also excited. "My primary consort loves to sulk. He looks too cold and fierce. We only interact when mating for reproduction. Yesterday, I took the initiative to chat with him, and he even video-called me, asking what I needed."

Obviously, he just couldn't care less. Who cared? No insect cared about what he needed.

99 rolled his eyes, secretly bad-mouthing these male insects to Xierlan. "Host, you see, the insect race is just this rotten. Throwing a few piles of shit into a pure romance really makes it hard to swallow. I just want to enjoy a nice, clean, mutually devoted story—is that too much to ask? Of course, if these annoying male insects can later get along well with their primary consorts, then I guess they're not so bad. Just tolerable, still hope the couples stay together forever. They better not mess things up."

I prefer shipping sweet couples. If it's not clean, it's better if both have pasts—fair, no one can blame the other. Those with one party having a lot of sexual experience aren't really a problem—just respect others' preferences.

99 nodded deeply at this thought.

Xierlan was quite open-minded in this aspect. After all, relationships are complex, too complicated to sum up in one sentence. He felt that two people loving each other was most important. As for the past, as long as neither minded, that was better than anything.

Miao Qie was very dissatisfied with Haibi interrupting him and slapped the table a few times. "Who said you could speak here? Wait until I'm done!"

Haibi's face turned red with anger, and he stopped talking, so mad he rolled his eyes.

Miao Qie put on a victorious smile. "But yesterday, I took the initiative to ask about his health and the offspring's recent situation, and he said all was well."

He crossed his arms proudly, thinking about Xierlan's chat history with his primary consort, and couldn't help but pout. "But I'm still not very satisfied. He isn't good with words at all."

Xierlan raised an eyebrow. "You're still not satisfied? If you ask me, you might as well give him a gift to show appreciation."

After speaking, he added, "A normal kind of gift."

Miao Qie was immediately displeased, widening his eyes, "What should I give him? No, I won’t give him anything."

Xierlan didn’t explain why he should give a gift, casually shrugged his shoulders, "Then there’s no helping it."

After that, he smiled and looked at Haibi. Honestly, he was really curious about what this soft-looking, golden-haired bug had done. "What about your situation?"

Haibi stuttered, glancing at the furious Miao Qie, then bravely continued, "I kept it very simple. I asked him if he’d been eating well lately, and he turned around and asked me what I wanted."

Haibi was timid. His primary consort was the chief physician at Satel Research Institute, a C-class female bug who had saved him and thus became his primary consort.

Originally, he was quite curious about this savior, but the other was stern and cold, completely unapproachable.

Xierlan pondered and offered a very fair assessment, "Believe it or not, your primary consort actually has a pretty good personality."

Haibi shook his head wildly, "No way, he’s strict."

Xierlan beckoned, "Come here, come here."

Haibi shivered, glanced at Miao Qie and Liposi beside him, then went to Xierlan’s side.

Xierlan calmly said, "Open your device and send your primary consort a message: Can I see you?"

The male bugs present were taken aback.

Haibi flushed red. No matter what, male bugs cared deeply about their pride. Words like these, which hinted at longing, were absolutely something they would never say—it was simply unreasonable!

    "There’s no need…"

Seeing the dangerous glint in Xierlan’s eyes, Haibi instantly shut his mouth and sent the message to his primary consort.

The other two male bugs skeptically leaned in to look.

Haibi typed the message exactly as it was, without changing a single word: "Can I see you?" right after the other’s question, "What do you want?"

Xierlan was also curious. He leaned over, saw the female bug’s name on the screen, paused, blinked slowly, and gave Haibi a strange look.

    Grouchy…?

    How childish.

While Haibi was sending the message, Xierlan glanced at his own notes. He had Sexia saved under just his name—simple.

That was indeed a bit plain.

Xierlan changed Sexia’s contact name to "Baby," then content, closed his device and waited with the others for Haibi’s primary consort’s reply.

    Haibi’s primary consort replied quickly.

    Grouchy: Want to see me?

Haibi’s face turned red with shame and anger, "See? He’s so strict!"

Xierlan strongly disagreed, lifting his chin, "How do you know you’re not misunderstanding him? What if he’s much more different than you imagine?"

Hearing Xierlan’s almost persuasive tone, Haibi gradually grew tempted, "Then what should I do?"

Xierlan raised an eyebrow, "Simple. Just say you want to see him."

Haibi sent the message, both worried and expectant.

He actually did want to see a different side of his savior. From marriage until now, his primary consort had always been solemn and dignified, always carried a cold scent of disinfectant. Haibi rarely communicated with him and never dared to physically harm him. Plus, compared to Miao Qie, his issues were milder, so he didn't have to stay here long—just three months.

Haibi was greatly let down. Xierlan saw the frustration and reluctance on his face and couldn’t be bothered with counseling, so he just said offhandedly, "Would it be interesting if it were that easy to see?"

Xierlan blinked, "If you don’t even have that much patience, no wonder you haven’t seen it."

Haibi instantly flushed red with anger.

He was furious now but didn’t dare to vent at Xierlan, gripping his device, staying quiet.

Seeing his reaction, Xierlan just smiled without any further response.

Discussing these things was just a casual effort for him. Whether they did it or not, Xierlan never really expected to change these deep-seated mentalities among bugs who mistreat females.

Liposi hadn’t said much. After some thought, he curiously worked up the nerve and sent a string of text to the other party.

    [Are you there, Sang Li]

The other was his fiancé and the first female bug he currently had. Liposi’s situation was unique—he was here for the money.

Yes, his fiancé’s female parent was the alliance’s largest arms dealer, collaborating extensively with the military. Liposi had never abused female bugs; he was here because his father used his status as a poor C-class male bug, demanding he come here for rehabilitation. In return, he’d receive a large sum of money as compensation once he got out.

Liposi came for financial gain, all because the bug he was to marry was a disfigured C-class female bug.

He hadn’t seen what the other looked like yet. Liposi was actually quite afraid the other might be too ugly, and he’d heard there were some physical impairments—a rather slender and delicate female bug.

As he thought this, the other party had already replied.

[Yes, is there something you need?]

Liposi looked up and saw Xierlan about to leave, so he quickly got up and followed him.

"Xierlan, how should I reply to this?"

Xierlan turned back. Miao Qie and Haibi, who had been doing their own things, simultaneously looked up and gathered around.

Xierlan felt a bit like an advisor, which was odd.

He clearly knew nothing about these bugs’ situations.

    "Let me see."

Xierlan read it twice, pondered, "You’re not married yet, right?"

Liposi nodded, "No, we’re not married. I’d like to get to know him."

For the inheritance he stood to gain.

Xierlan didn’t know his situation but patiently advised, "Say your next class is flower arrangement, and ask him if he knows how."

The bugs crowded around to watch him send the message.

Since there were no classes starting yet, Xierlan studied on the side while helping them advise and respond.

Liposi continued chatting with Sang Li on the other end. The male bug was somewhat surprised—he’d hardly ever spoken to him before and had always assumed Sang Li was insecure and timid.

But the reality was the opposite—the guy was polite, at ease, and well-informed. Whenever he asked a few questions, Sang Li answered with great thoughtfulness.

After watching, Miao Qie tsked, "What's so good about chatting like this? So boring."

    Haibi nodded in agreement, "Exactly."

But Liposi didn't say anything. He traced his fingers across the light screen, feeling a slight stir in his heart, an indescribable emotion.

Xierlan didn't want to stick around there either. He found a place to study on his own. While taking notes, he came across an explanation of the gestation sac. When he paused his studying, he thought of Sexia.

Just as he was about to make a notation, his pen naturally drew a cute, simple cartoon kitten.

Xierlan silently gazed at it for a few seconds, then smiled, eyes crinkling, snapped a screenshot, and sent it to Sexia.

    Xierlan: [Kitten with wide-open eyes.jpg]

Sexia almost immediately showed as "typing..." It seemed like he thought for a long time before slowly typing out a sentence.

Baby: Yeah, Xierlan is a kitten.

Author's Note: Just realized a section wasn’t included earlier (second edit).

I ended up forgetting some of my own settings while writing, I can’t do this anymore.

Babies, if you notice anything that doesn’t match up, please remind me—I might have missed it during proofreading.

Also, sorry, I just love writing CPs too much. There will be several CP depictions, and all the CPs portrayed in the story will develop into pure love. Don’t worry, if it’s not your thing, feel free to exit.

Including this book, it’s purely for the sake of emotions. The main story probably won’t involve childbirth, but Sexia’s gestation sac will be cured. If there’s childbirth, it might be placed in extras. [Please][Please][Please]

Among the three male insects, I actually prefer the pair of Liposi and Sang Li. The dynamic I set is: a profit-driven social climber who has zero resistance to a sweet fool × someone who chats calmly and naturally but is actually a shy baby with burn scars offline.

This couple’s looks are average to slightly above average—not as good-looking as the other pairs. They’re a simple, plain couple. I think there’s something oddly appealing about average-looking but refined and slightly handsome types? So that’s what I gave to Liposi.

Miao Qie is a nasty bad guy but actually a proud, delicate type. His primary consort is a seductive male mommy.

Haibi is a timid but hot-tempered childish brat. His CP is a cold-looking, cold-natured but very doting parental-style wife.

All are double virgins. Yes, writing non-virgins makes me uncomfortable, so no matter how unreasonable, it’s double virgins (a Chinese danmei fandom term meaning both love interests are sexually inexperienced).
