Chapter 29: So Much Like a Puppy

He wasn't content with merely turning Sexia around; he had to rest his head on Sexia's shoulder, nuzzling softly again and again. When he saw Sexia about to avert his gaze, he smiled clingingly, as if certain Sexia couldn't bear to push him away.

    "Sexia, you're truly adorable."

Xierlan draped himself lazily over him, seemingly intent on teasing Sexia. He lowered his gaze slightly, as if about to touch something immensely precious, and slowly placed his fingertips on Sexia's cheek. Then, he began to move downward gradually, sliding to the other's slender, graceful throat.

"Otherwise, why would I find you so adorable with just one glance?" Xierlan curved his lips and playfully poked his neck. "You're an exceptionally cute bug."

After saying this, Xierlan was utterly captivated by Sexia, who was quietly watching him. The affection swirling in his heart felt boundless, almost overflowing like a pool of passionate spring water.

Sexia didn't respond. He simply watched the human before him, his ice-blue eyes shimmering with clear emotion.

He had been with Xierlan for less than a month, yet he liked him with an almost insane intensity. So much so that even after being teased by the human for so long, he felt overwhelmed by that profound affection, almost unlike himself—blushing, shy, obediently calling the human "primary male," and doing so from their very first meeting.

Sexia had wondered why he had become like this, but many things had no explanation. Even though other bugs who knew him thought he seemed completely transformed, what did it matter?

He was born to contend, but the human didn't need to contend; he just landed steadily in his palm.

How could such emotions be ignored or suppressed?

No one could easily erase his feelings. His liking and his love were hard to restrain. So the coldness, solemnity, and sternness that other bugs perceived were all a facade steeped in power and status, not his true self. Sexia wouldn't treat a human he liked with such an attitude either. Besides, perhaps he was inherently a soft and obedient bug.

Sexia didn't resist this version of himself. On the contrary, he felt relaxed and happy because revealing this softness, which didn't match the cold hardness of a military male, made Xierlan like him.

After all, it was still him.

Sexia thought that if he were too cold toward him, Xierlan would be sad. He cherished Xierlan and naturally didn't want to make him unhappy.

Perhaps the male bug had been thinking for too long. Xierlan blinked, as if nudging someone asleep, tilting his head slightly to remind Sexia that he hadn't answered his question.

"Baby," Xierlan said earnestly, "why aren't you saying anything?"

After that, Xierlan fell silent, quietly awaiting his response. After all, he could be quite noisy sometimes, and a moment of quietness might be better than excessive intimacy.

Sexia finally reacted slightly. His eyelashes fluttered, and for a moment he didn't move. Instead, he lowered his gaze, looking at the hand resting on his neck, like a lamb to the slaughter, tilting his head to expose the cold, pale, slender line of his neck.

As if too shy to face it or anticipating the human's next response, he calmly looked elsewhere. His hair, scattered across the bed, lay beneath him, not diminishing his beauty in the slightest. Even the muted colors seemed to brighten because of Sexia's movements, glowing with a thin, cool moonlight, incredibly captivating.

    "Besides being cute?"

Sexia whispered, like a sigh, turning his face back to look at the human resting on his shoulder, his voice soft. His hand, resting at his side, lifted slightly and gently stroked Xierlan's cheek.

"Xierlan, will you say other things to praise me?"

Hearing his name, Xierlan was momentarily stunned. After all, they had been together for a while, and the other rarely called him by name. Now, hearing it evoked an inexplicable thrill.

But in this situation, Xierlan couldn't tell whether he felt disappointed or expectant. In his eyes, Sexia was always reserved, always passive, and more often than not, possessed an irresistible obedience and contrast.

Could he say it? Of course he could. Now Xierlan was the one blushing. He leaned closer to Sexia, and even though they had already been intimate, he still felt the heat spreading from his cheeks.

    He was unprecedentedly embarrassed.

"Yes, Sexia," Xierlan felt like the flustered one now. "You're like..."

Xierlan trailed off before he could finish, suddenly feeling a mix of shyness and frustration.

He had a wealth of vocabulary and idioms to describe talent and appearance, and he could be eloquent, but when facing Sexia, it all seemed to vanish like a punctured balloon.

Damn it, if he were writing, he could crank out thousands of words, but speaking was different. Oh no, Xierlan realized he was actually someone who struggled to express himself.

    This was so strange!!

He loved expressing himself the most!!!

This shouldn't be happening at all!!!

Xierlan really felt like crying. He fully experienced that state of getting a test paper and blanking out despite having studied.

    It was terrible.

Xierlan almost didn't dare look at Sexia. He parted his lips but didn't react for a long time. Only Sexia could feel the cheek under his hand growing hotter and hotter. While waiting, he finally heard the words Xierlan had been carefully choosing.

"I like describing you with simple, sincere words."

Xierlan decided to speak from his heart. Thinking about his time with Sexia, Xierlan truly felt incredibly happy. As he spoke, his eyes unconsciously shimmered.

He felt the warmth of that hand on his cheek, the heat on his face still lingering.

"You're like an eternally bright spring mountain."

Xierlan wanted to describe him with elegant, straightforward words. "Even though you seem cold, I can't help but feel this way."

"Sexia, the reserved, obedient traits you have are supported by your proud spirit, making you seem kind, generous, and gentle."

Xierlan nuzzled his hand. Sexia had already grown accustomed to the childishness he occasionally showed, but now, the seriousness and delicacy in his eyes took on an ambiguous tone.

"I love these gentle qualities in you; they make me feel secure. I really like how you seem cold but are actually bashful and easily embarrassed when we're together. Of course, I also love your dazed look. You're also very beautiful, so full of life. I can't ignore your uniqueness and passion..."

After saying this, Xierlan became more natural and laid bare all his feelings about Sexia.

Normally, Sexia would blush and feel shy, but before he could react this time, he noticed a trait in the human before him that he had never seen before.

Apparently, Xierlan was also very well-behaved.

Very bashful, blushed easily, almost did whatever he was told. Sometimes he didn't even need to be asked; Xierlan would do it naturally.

    Very much like a puppy...

...a puppy that loved wagging its tail at someone it liked.

Sexia seemed to have discovered something very, very interesting. He didn't speak but prepared to withdraw his hand from Xierlan's cheek.

He had only pulled back a little when he saw Xierlan widen his eyes and clingingly followed.

He leaned over and kissed Sexia's chin, pitifully saying, "Why aren't you petting me anymore, baby?"

    Understood.

    Xierlan was a puppy.

Sexia stroked his cheek softly and murmured, "So petting you like this makes you happy, right?"

Completely unaware that he was being seen as a puppy, Xierlan nodded cheerfully. "Yeah, yeah, I love it when Sexia treats me like this."

Xierlan clung to him particularly affectionately, resting on his shoulder, very obediently. "I just really like it. Even if you refuse, it won't matter; I'll always stick to you."

Sexia couldn't quite put it into words—a flicker of flame seemed to ignite within him, accompanied by an indescribable itching sensation.

He genuinely felt like teasing Xierlan a little.

Xierlan had said that he would love the real him. Xierlan hadn’t lied, and Sexia wouldn’t let him, even if he did—he’d make sure it became true anyway.

Sexia’s eyelashes fluttered, the corners of his lips lifting slightly as he lowered his gaze. Slowly, he raised his upper body, the loose collar of his clothes hinting at a suggestive curve with the movement.

“In that case, would you be willing to kiss my abdomen?”

He took Xierlan’s hand and gently placed it on his abdomen, where a scar and the mark of their completed bond lay.

Sexia lifted his leg, parting his legs slightly without a word, simply watching him quietly.

At the sight, Xierlan felt a rush of heat surge through him. Under Sexia’s watchful gaze, he began to flush—starting from the tips of his ears, spreading across his cheeks, then down his neck.

Xierlan had originally intended to rest properly, but under these circumstances, it seemed nearly impossible!!!

    He nodded dazedly, “O-okay.”

With a mix of seriousness and shyness, Xierlan began to untie the fastenings on Sexia’s clothes, then lowered his head.

He looked even more like a puppy now.

Sexia suppressed the trembling in his fingertips.

After the scar had healed, the skin there had become extremely sensitive—itching when exposed to heat. At first, Sexia had only wanted a kiss.

But it was too hot, truly too hot.

Sexia felt like he had changed, yet somehow remained the same. Leaning against the pillow, he gently held Xierlan’s chin with his hand, stopping the kiss.

Xierlan looked confused, resting his chin in Sexia’s palm, about to ask what was wrong. But the moment he lifted his head, his mind buzzed even more intensely, and a moist heat inexplicably rose at the tip of his nose.

Sexia held his chin with one hand.

His legs parted, the open clothing revealing the curves of his body, rising and falling.

He was breathing—rapid, flustered breaths, his skin flushed with a heated pink.

Sexia had initially intended to pull back, to end it there. But when he saw the fresh blood trickling from Xierlan’s nostrils, scalding hot as it dripped onto his palm, he changed his mind.

Lowering his gaze, he slowly wiped the blood from Xierlan’s face with his thumb, leaving a vivid streak across the human’s skin.

“Xierlan,” Sexia murmured softly, stroking from his nose to his lips, “do you want to consume me?”

Xierlan felt as though he might die on the spot.
