Chapter 71 A Zheng, You’re Angry
by 七九Chapter 71: A Zheng, you're angry
Luo Yunchen was held back by Su Zheng, and could only watch helplessly as the few people fled in panic.
He looked at Su Zheng with displeasure and said in a huff, "Why did you stop me, A Zheng? They dared to slander my A Zheng—I must kill them to vent your anger!"
Su Zheng sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm: "Actually, I think what they said is absolutely right."
With that, he took the sugar figurine from Luo Yunchen's hand, didn't look at it again, and directly stuffed it into his mouth.
Su Zheng's face returned to a blank expression as he said flatly, "I ate it. Can you let go of me now?"
Luo Yunchen felt a tightness in his chest, both angry and miserable. He knew in his heart that he wasn't angry at those people just now, but he didn't know who he was angry at either.
Unable to find an outlet for his frustration, Luo Yunchen only felt more suffocated.
He wanted to say something to Su Zheng, to make him stop talking to him like that, but he didn't know how to begin.
Luo Yunchen pressed his lips together, held back his anger for a while, and ultimately said nothing. Slowly, he let Su Zheng go.
Now free, Su Zheng simply walked past Luo Yunchen and continued on.
Luo Yunchen followed close behind Su Zheng, but neither of them spoke a word.
Luo Yunchen's eyes dropped to Su Zheng's pale, slightly curved fingers at his side. He silently reached out, wanting to take Su Zheng's hand.
But just as he was about to touch, he stopped and slowly pulled back.
A moment later, he couldn't help reaching out again, only to pull back at the last second.
After repeating this several times, Luo Yunchen's gaze landed on their shadows on the ground.
He raised his hand slightly, making his shadow's hand clasp Su Zheng's shadow's, and then he held that position without moving.
Su Zheng noticed Luo Yunchen's movements from the start, but since he didn't actually touch him, he decided to ignore it.
But when he noticed the change in their shadows, his gaze faltered.
A moment later, Su Zheng abruptly put his hand behind his back.
Luo Yunchen was taken aback, staring blankly at the lonely raised hand of his shadow.
After a moment, that hand slowly dropped.
The two walked on in silence.
As they passed a small alley, Luo Yunchen suddenly grabbed Su Zheng and pulled him into it.
The deserted alley was cold, quiet, and secluded.
Luo Yunchen pinned Su Zheng against the wall, leaned in close, and brought his thin lips down, stopping just half an inch from Su Zheng's lips—neither advancing nor retreating.
He looked down at Su Zheng, a suppressed pain flickering in his eyes, his voice low and aggrieved: "A Zheng, you're angry."
Su Zheng didn't struggle or resist much. He turned his head slightly and said, "I'm not."
"You clearly are! A Zheng isn't angry at them—A Zheng is angry at me! Why? They were the ones who slandered A Zheng, and I listened to you and didn't touch them, so why are you still angry with me?"
"Do you think they were slandering us? What's the difference between us and a male prostitute and his customer? Isn't it just that whenever you want, I have to let you toy with me, anytime and anywhere?"
Luo Yunchen grew anxious: "No, that's not true! A Zheng clearly promised me to be my crown prince's consort! We are husband and wife! Other couples can go shopping and feed each other, why can't A Zheng and I? I just want to be close to A Zheng, and let others see how intimate we are as a couple!"
"Forget your 'husband and wife' nonsense!" Su Zheng could no longer hold back. "Luo Yunchen, are your eyes broken? Can't you see I'm a guy? Have you ever seen a married couple that's both men?"
"What's wrong with that?" Luo Yunchen was unwavering. "We can still be together, can't we? What I do, doesn't A Zheng find it pleasurable too?"
Su Zheng gasped, almost choking on his own breath.
Su Zheng took a deep breath to stay calm: "Luo Yunchen, a proper marriage requires all the formalities—the three letters, six rites, three matchmakers, six betrothals, and a wedding ceremony. Married couples also need to have kids to carry on the family line. Do you think we can manage that?"
"Don't try to trick me, A Zheng. Even if I haven't seen it, I know that even among male-female couples, some can't have kids."
Su Zheng: "..."
Well, he had a damn point.
Seeing Su Zheng silent, Luo Yunchen continued: "I don't like anyone else monopolizing A Zheng's attention, not even children. If A Zheng really likes children, we could wait until we're over thirty and then adopt a child from a side branch under your name, how about that? As for the 'three letters and six rites' and the wedding ceremony, if A Zheng wants them, how hard can that be? I'll start preparing them right away."
Su Zheng pressed his forehead in exasperation, not wanting to talk to this man anymore.
Luo Yunchen took Su Zheng's hand, interlacing their fingers, kissed the corner of Su Zheng's lips, and asked in a low, hoarse voice: "A Zheng, are you still going to be angry with me? Talk to me, stop making a fuss, okay?"
Su Zheng let out a snort: "Or what? Are you going to do it to me right here?"
Luo Yunchen paused, then pressed his thin lips to Su Zheng's flushed earlobe and said flat out: "I want to."
"Ha!" Su Zheng sneered. "Luo Yunchen, no matter what you say, you just want my body. Since I can't resist you anyway, go ahead as you please. Why bother with this 'husband and wife' pretense? Aren't you ashamed to say that?"
"A Zheng thinks I'm deceiving you? Just because I want A Zheng? But what's wrong with that? Storybooks say that when you like someone, you want to get close. I like A Zheng, I want A Zheng, I can't control myself from wanting to be close to A Zheng! Don't other married couples want this kind of closeness?"
This time Su Zheng didn't fall for it: "At least they don't ignore where they are and get all touchy-feely in public!"
Luo Yunchen didn't say anything else, just buried his face in Su Zheng's neck and stayed still.
Just as Su Zheng thought he was going to go crazy again, Luo Yunchen suddenly pulled away from Su Zheng, let go, pursed his lips, and said: "Alright, if A Zheng is unhappy about this, I'll do what A Zheng says. When we get back to the Eastern Palace, A Zheng can properly fulfill our marital duties with me, okay?"
Su Zheng was taken aback by his sudden concession. But then he straightened his clothes, pushed Luo Yunchen away, and left the alley.
Luo Yunchen followed Su Zheng out of the alley, refrained from any further small moves, and kept a certain distance, saying: "If I do this, can A Zheng stop being mad at me? Let me take A Zheng for a tour around the southern city again, okay?"
Su Zheng didn't know where to go anyway, so he nodded, motioning for Luo Yunchen to lead the way.
Luo Yunchen behaved much more properly, honestly taking Su Zheng around the southern city.
It wasn't until near evening that the two got back on the carriage to return to the palace.
"Host, be careful! There's an ambush outside!"
The system's sudden warning rang in Su Zheng's mind.
At the same time, Luo Yunchen's face turned stern. He grabbed Su Zheng and pulled him tightly into his arms to protect him, dodging sideways while carrying Su Zheng.
An arrow flew through the wind with great force, piercing through the carriage and shooting inside, nailing itself straight into the carriage wall.
As if it were a signal, a rain of arrows came in waves, all aimed at the carriage they were riding in.
