Chapter 73 A Zheng, Do You Want More?
by 七九Chapter 73: More, A Zheng?
Su Zheng's eyes widened as he watched the arrow flying towards Luo Yunchen in just a blink of an eye, heading straight for Luo Yunchen.
If he were hit by this arrow again...
This thought flashed through Su Zheng's mind, and he wanted to shout a warning, but his body reacted faster than his mind.
Su Zheng suddenly sprang up, throwing himself between Luo Yunchen and the flying arrow.
His body was sent flying with great force. Midair, Su Zheng wanted to curse out loud: Damn, that fucking hurts!
Soon, Su Zheng's consciousness began to fade. Before he could even figure out where he'd been thrown, his brain stopped working.
In his blurry vision, Su Zheng seemed to see Luo Yunchen's face, with a panicked, dazed look like a scared fool.
Su Zheng thought he must be hallucinating.
Luo Yunchen, a psycho madman, couldn't pull off that dumb look even if he tried.
Just before his consciousness completely slipped into a coma, Su Zheng figured that craziness must be contagious!
If he wasn't crazy, why would he do such a stupid thing as jumping out to take an arrow for someone?
"Warning! The male lead..."
Su Zheng tried to listen, but he couldn't make out the rest of the warning before he passed out.

Three days later.
Su Zheng gradually regained consciousness. His fingers twitched slightly, but he felt as if something were restraining them, so the movement was barely noticeable.
His closed eyelashes fluttered. Su Zheng struggled to pull himself out of that hazy state, and slowly opened his eyes.
Immediately, a delighted voice sounded in his ear, though it was extremely hoarse and scratchy and unpleasant: "A Zheng, A Zheng, you're awake!"
Su Zheng closed his eyes again, then opened them, his mind slowly clearing.
He turned his head and met a pair of intense, fiery eyes full of happiness and joy, but deep in his eyes lurked hidden worry and fear.
Su Zheng blinked. Was this Luo Yunchen?
How does he look so much older?
What's with all the stubble?
How did a refined young man turn into a scruffy uncle in an instant?
Seeing that Su Zheng just stared at him without speaking, Luo Yunchen's expression immediately shifted from joy to worry. He still held Su Zheng's hand without moving, and asked anxiously: "A Zheng, how do you feel?"
Su Zheng opened his mouth to say something, but realized his throat was also terribly dry. He barely got out a single word: "Water."
"A Zheng, wait. I'll get water for you right away."
Luo Yunchen gently placed Su Zheng's hand back on the bed, then got up to fetch a bowl of water. He paused and also picked up a spoon.
Returning to the bedside, Luo Yunchen scooped up a spoonful of water and gently brought it to Su Zheng's lips.
Su Zheng opened his mouth to drink. Despite Luo Yunchen's care, some water still trickled down the corner of Su Zheng's mouth, flowing along his pale neck.
Su Zheng frowned. It felt a little itchy.
Luo Yunchen quickly put down the water bowl, fumbled for a handkerchief, and carefully wiped the water stains from Su Zheng's chin.
"A Zheng, I'm sorry, it's my fault. I'll be extra careful!"
Su Zheng glanced at Luo Yunchen and said nothing.
Luo Yunchen carefully scooped another spoonful of water and brought it to Su Zheng's mouth, but still, a little water spilled out.
He fumbled even more frantically to wipe the water stains off Su Zheng, looking a bit flustered.
Watching Luo Yunchen's expressions and actions, a flicker of doubt crossed Su Zheng's eyes, but it was gone in an instant.
Su Zheng didn't show it and said softly: "It's... nothing."
Luo Yunchen hesitated, looking at Su Zheng with a docile, pleading expression, and asked cautiously: "A Zheng, how about I feed you the water differently? I promise I won't do anything else. I just want you to drink comfortably."
Su Zheng also disliked the slightly itchy sensation caused by the water stains.
Since when did Luo Yunchen ask for his opinion?
He used to just do whatever he wanted, didn't he?
Pushing aside his doubts, Su Zheng nodded slightly. He needed water, lots of it, and a spoon just wouldn't cut it.
Luo Yunchen seemed relieved. He took a big mouthful of water himself, then pressed it to Su Zheng's slightly parted lips.
Without any extra moves, he just licked away the water stains from Su Zheng's lips.
A clear, sweet stream of water flowed down his throat, moistening his dry throat, and Su Zheng felt much more comfortable.
His voice came out much smoother, and Su Zheng spoke again: "More."
Luo Yunchen smiled and fed him another mouthful, asking dotingly: "A Zheng, want more?"
"Yes, a few more gulps."
Luo Yunchen fed him a few more mouthfuls.
Once his throat no longer felt dry, Su Zheng shook his head to say he'd had enough.
Luo Yunchen put the water bowl aside and asked: "A Zheng, how are you feeling? Does the wound hurt? Does anything hurt?"
Su Zheng shook his head and simply asked: "Is there anything to eat? I'm hungry."
"Then rest for a while, A Zheng. I'll go fix you something to eat."
Luo Yunchen got up and left the chamber.
The moment he stepped out of the hall, he swayed on his feet.
Xu Mo immediately stepped forward to support him, said in a worried voice: "Master, you haven't..."
Before he could finish, Luo Yunchen shot him a sharp, terrifying glare: "Do your job and don't run your mouth."
With that, Luo Yunchen left Xu Mo behind and continued walking forward.
Inside the hall.
After Luo Yunchen left, Su Zheng let out a sigh and called the system: "System, are you there?"
"Here, host."
Su Zheng said in a heavy voice: "System, do you have a way to check the host's body? Help me see if there's something seriously wrong with my brain."
"???"
"Host, although I don't have medical examination capabilities, I can confirm that apart from some residual toxins in your body, you definitely don't have any major illness."
"Really?"
"Really!"
"Then it's because you discharged too much electricity and burned out your CPU, which made me stupid too?"
"..."
"No way! This system doesn't break down! Even if there's a system malfunction, it won't affect the host's behavior or thoughts!"
"Then there's no solution to this! I'm not sick, and I'm not stupid, how can I do something as idiotic as sacrificing my life for someone else?!"
The system fell silent.
That's not within its job description!
Su Zheng asked the system to turn on his pain suppression again. Aside from a slight heaviness, he felt little discomfort.
The wound on his chest was probably quite severe, but at least he wouldn't die now, so Su Zheng didn't ask for details.
Brushing aside that question, Su Zheng asked the system: "System, how long have I been unconscious? What happened during that time? Tell me all about it."
"Right after you were severely injured and passed out on the spot, the male lead went berserk. He killed people like chopping vegetables, hacking those who blocked him—including the archer—into mincemeat. Some of his own men tried to stop him, but he injured them too. In the end, someone reminded the male lead that you were still alive and needed to take you to see a doctor. Only then did the male lead, as if a pause button had been pressed, stop his killing. After confirming you were still breathing, he gave an order to leave no survivors, then picked you up and rushed you to a doctor."
