Chapter 7 The Teasing Yandere Boy 7
byChapter 7: The Playful, Obsessive Young Master 7
Speaking of gossip, the heavenly court has just as much drama as these wealthy circles.
So Qiao Ling could play mind games without even trying.
Who knows what shady crap that bastard Jian Qingming might pull behind the scenes? Qiao Ling was just getting ahead of him!
But Qiao Ling never expected that even the best-laid plans could go wrong.
Second Floor
Jiang Ran leaned against the wall, having heard the whole thing.
He hadn't expected Qiao Ling to straight-up admit he was his boyfriend, but he figured it was probably just to avoid the hassle of explaining things to his family.
Even so, an indescribable joy bubbled up in Jiang Ran's chest.
But when he heard Qiao Ling admit that he had once liked Jian Qingming...
An uncontrollable irritation surged through him.
He'd never understood why Jian Qingming had always been hostile toward him, but at this moment, he couldn't help but be bothered by it.
After the two finished breakfast, some of Qiao Ling's party buddies invited him out for drinks.
Qiao Ling was about to say no, but the system reminded him: "Host, you need to keep up Qiao Ling's persona in this world!"
Qiao Ling was the type who couldn't go three days without hitting the clubs or two days without stirring up trouble. He couldn't hold his liquor, but he loved to party.
This was probably a common flaw among these rich kids.
Hearing this, Qiao Ling had no choice but to split from Jiang Ran.
"Go to class. If I need you, I'll call you."
Jiang Ran nodded, watching the young master walk away, feeling like they weren't from the same world.
But regardless... this time, he was going to fight for it.
————
Qiao Ling showed up at some minor celebrity's birthday party.
This minor celebrity was probably some rich kid's sugar baby—any excuse was good enough for them to throw a party.
And they usually picked some fancy, high-end spot.
With flashing lights, the vibe was all about seduction and luxury.
As soon as Qiao Ling walked in, Chen Ming, the Chen family's young master, came over.
Chen Ming wasn't the type to waste his days partying. After graduating, he joined the family business and had already taken control of it within two years.
He only came out once in a while to unwind and never went overboard. Looking at Qiao Ling, he couldn't help but say:
"Xiao Qiao's been a good boy lately. How come you haven't come out to play in so long?"
The young man lounged lazily on the expensive sofa, his slender, pale fingers wrapped around a wine glass, and gave a faint smile: "I wasn't feeling well recently, so I didn't really want to drink."
Chen Ming nodded with a smile: "With that frail body of yours, you should've quit drinking ages ago. You can't hold your liquor, but you still love it."
Just then, a few other rich kids crowded around to toast Qiao Ling.
Qiao Ling was usually wild, but he didn't want to repeat the original owner's lifestyle now.
He said flatly: "You invited me here to have fun, and the second I show up, you're trying to get me wasted? What's your deal? Stay away from me."
"Whoa, the young master's in a bad mood! Then we'd better back off before we get caught in the crossfire."
"Let's go, let's go. Better not ruin the young master's mood."
Qiao Ling had always had a temper, and nobody could make him do anything he didn't want to.
These rich kids knew how to read the room, so they backed off.
But just then, Jian Qingming sat down with a glass, holding it out to Qiao Ling with a smile: "Xiao Ling, you're not even going to give me face? It's Miss Guo's birthday today, and it's rare for all of us to be together. Can't you do me this one favor?"
At that, everyone's eyes landed on Qiao Ling, and some had already started egging him on.
There was no helping it—although Qiao Ling was so stubborn that other rich kids didn't dare provoke him, he'd always treated Jian Qingming's words like gospel.
Forget just taking a sip—if Jian Qingming told him to down two bottles of baijiu, Qiao Ling would probably do it without a second thought.
But hearing that, a mocking smile curled on Qiao Ling's lips.
That Miss Guo was just some minor celebrity who'd slept her way to the top. Jian Qingming probably didn't even know which one at the party was Miss Guo!
Qiao Ling said flatly: "I didn't know I'd gotten so cheap that I have to drink with whoever tells me to.
I said I don't want to drink. Do you not understand Chinese, or do you not understand plain English?"
Just because he wants me to drink, I have to? Who the hell does he think he is?
He especially hated people who pressured others to drink, and he hated people who went against his will.
Everyone at the party looked surprised.
Qiao Ling and Jian Qingming had always been pretty close, and no one had heard of any falling out recently. Why were things so tense now?
Jian Qingming, however, didn't seem bothered in the slightest, even smiling a little.
"Xiao Ling, what do I have to do to make you stop being mad? I came here today just to apologize to you."
Hearing this, everyone had a pretty good idea of what was going on.
Those two had been making eyes at each other for so long—maybe they were already secretly together.
If it was just a lovers' spat, it had nothing to do with them. If they butted in, they might end up getting caught in the crossfire.
Chen Ming watched the two of them, but he had a feeling it wasn't that simple.
The disgust in the young master's eyes was impossible to fake.
Qiao Ling hated fake people, and it seemed like Jian Qingming had reached the peak of acting.
"I wasn't even angry in the first place, so what's there to forgive?"
Of course, Qiao Ling knew exactly what he was anxious about and afraid of.
With Jiang Ran, who seemed capable of replacing him at any moment, around him, he was naturally anxious.
But precisely because of that, Qiao Ling wanted Jiang Ran to keep appearing before his eyes.
Getting into someone's head is often more agonizing than a quick cut.
The young master stretched lazily, raised his glass to clink with Chen Ming, and after downing the wine, said, "This is getting boring. I'm leaving."
Chen Ming grabbed him: "You're something else. You barely took a sip and now you're asking for trouble?"
He just had to clink glasses with him before leaving—he really couldn't figure out this guy's thinking anymore.
Qiao Ling smiled faintly: "I'll have someone pick me up. What's there to be afraid of?"
With that, Qiao Ling called Jiang Ran directly: "A-Ran, I've sent you the address. Come pick me up."
Hearing this, the smile gradually faded from Jian Qingming's face.
He really couldn't figure out what kind of magic Jiang Ran possessed to have driven such a wedge between him and Qiao Ling in such a short time.
And Qiao Ling trusted him so completely, without question.
As Qiao Ling walked out, Chen Ming followed along.
Don't judge him for being nosy—he genuinely felt there was a story behind this "A-Ran" guy.
Anyone who could make Jian Qingming's expression change instantly was bound to be intriguing.
Meanwhile, someone in the crowd whispered: "I heard there's been a guy hanging around Qiao Ling lately. Handsome... really handsome."
Jiang Ran's handsome features, often cold and aloof, were highly recognizable.
He was a completely different type from Jian Qingming.
