Chapter 8 The Teasing Yandere Boy 8
byChapter 8: The Alluring and Sickly Young Master 8
Plus, these rich young masters have way too many tricks up their sleeves, so stuff like this isn't exactly a shock.
With Qiao Ling's family background, it'd be weird if he were loyal to just one person!
Who knows if the young master, tired of getting no response, just dove into someone else's arms?
Behind them, the young master of the Li family spoke calmly: "Quit guessing. Who could Qiao Ling ever feel as strongly about as he does about Qingming?"
The Li family's young master was tight with Jian Qingming, so he couldn't help but defend him.
Plus, Qiao Ling and Jian Qingming have known each other for over ten years—how could a few days with someone else top that? No way.
None of the sharp-eyed crowd said a word, just quietly trailing Qiao Ling out the door to see who'd snagged his heart so fast.
Twenty minutes later, Jiang Ran showed up.
By then, Qiao Ling was already pretty drunk.
He figured he'd really gone all out to get Jiang Ran to come pick him up.
Jiang Ran, backpack slung over his shoulder, quickly shoved the textbooks from the passenger seat into it before hurrying over.
"Young master."
The guy was tall and lean, his plain shirt and jeans doing nothing to hide his broad shoulders and slim waist.
His features were sharp and sculpted, his eyes and brows carrying a distant, cold air, and his voice was just as icy.
But when he talked to Qiao Ling, his tone was respectful.
Hearing that form of address, the crowd already knew what was up.
With a title that low, how could he be a real partner?
He was probably just a pet to keep the young master from getting bored.
After all, Qiao Ling looked way better standing next to someone from a top family like Jian Qingming.
Chen Ming kept his eyes locked on Qiao Ling.
What place did Jiang Ran really have in the young master's heart? Shouldn't that show in how the young master acted?
As for everyone else... who knows if they'd suddenly become nobody in the young master's life?
"Ah Ran, I wanna go home." Qiao Ling reached out and leaned right into his shoulder.
Jiang Ran froze, staring at the clearly out-of-it guy in front of him, not sure what to do.
Chen Ming walked over and gave him a heads-up: "Qiao Ling just had a drink, and it's probably kicking in now.
He can't handle his booze but keeps drinking anyway. Who knows if he'll start acting up later—look after him."
Jiang Ran hummed in response, and the next second, he scooped the guy leaning on him up into a bridal carry.
The young master, who usually loved to get prickly and start fights, was as tame as a kitten in Jiang Ran's arms.
Qiao Ling leaned into Jiang Ran's chest, half-asleep, watching Jian Qingming glare their way with dark, murderous eyes.
Still in his arms, the young master cupped Jiang Ran's face and kissed his cheek.
The crowd at the door went wild...
"Holy shit! The young master just made a move?"
"Those two... which one's the... you know?!"
"Whoa! This kid actually fits the young master perfectly! Slim waist, long legs—I think I'm starting to get why the young master's into him."
...
It was only then that Jian Qingming realized how fragile adult bonds really were.
The second things shifted, they'd toss aside anyone who wasn't useful to their crew anymore.
But... lucky for him, he'd never believed in them anyway.
Watching the car pull away slowly, Jian Qingming turned and made a call.
"We can start the operation now."
—
Jiang Ran glanced at the drowsy guy in the passenger seat and asked, at a loss, "How much did the young master have to drink?"
Qiao Ling held up a slim, pale finger and wagged it in front of him.
"A bottle?"
"Pfft! One bottle? That's nothing for me! My tolerance is insane—I drank... a whole barrel!"
"Ah Ran, I'll take you out for drinks sometime. Your tolerance's got nothing on mine."
The system: "..." Who can't outdrink a guy who's wasted after one glass?
Good grief, the host's habit of running his mouth when drunk was acting up again.
Whenever he got drunk, he'd talk out of his ass—claiming he'd climbed the moon after one bungee jump.
Obviously, Jiang Ran didn't buy it either.
As he drove, Jiang Ran spotted two cars tailing them closely in the rearview mirror.
Frowning, he warned, "Young master, put on your seatbelt."
"It's fine, I've got resurrection armor!!!" Qiao Ling had totally lost it.
At this point, resurrection armor wasn't gonna help—nothing was.
The cars behind were chasing hard, and who knew if there were more waiting up ahead.
Jiang Ran pulled the car over to the curb and stopped, not moving, not getting out, just waiting it out.
Through his fog, Qiao Ling felt the car stop: "Ah Ran, are we home yet?"
Jiang Ran grabbed the young master's arm. "Don't get out yet."
The two cars that had been tailing them now pulled up alongside Jiang Ran's car.
When they didn't get out, the pursuers came up and knocked on the window.
Jiang Ran rolled down the window himself and asked, "What do you want?"
The man knocking was a stocky, middle-aged bald guy.
Behind him was a lanky young lackey with bleached yellow hair.
The man chuckled at that and said, "Of course we've got business with you, Jiang Ran. You pissed off the wrong person."
The lackey, more cautious than his boss, cut in, "Boss, why bother talking? Let's just handle this!"
The middle-aged bald man smiled. "Just two little brats here—you really think they can get away?"
His gaze then landed on the soft, pampered young master in the passenger seat.
His eyes were full of undisguised interest as he rubbed his chin and leered, "Wonder what this little master tastes like... Never got to try one! Kinda curious, you know?"
Jiang Ran's eyes narrowed, anger surging uncontrollably in his chest.
Just then, the drunk young master poked his head out, reckless as ever. His face was rosy, and his clear, glassy eyes locked onto the middle-aged man.
"No need to wonder. I taste just like your daddy."
At that dangerous remark, the system couldn't help but facepalm.
This lesser immortal—he's this scary when drunk?!
Qiao Ling got out of the car and shoved the man. "Good dogs don't block the road. Scram."
He was dead tired and just wanted to go home and crash.
Jiang Ran's gaze turned cold as he asked calmly, "Mind telling me who I pissed off?"
He tightened his grip on Qiao Ling's hand, ready to bolt with him if things went south.
"You don't need to know." A vicious glint flashed in the middle-aged man's eyes as he pulled a knife from his waist.
The blade gleamed coldly, making it clear someone was bleeding today.
Only then did a real sense of urgency hit Qiao Ling.
He really hadn't expected these guys to be this bold, pulling something like this right on the main street.
