Chapter 26 The Teasing Yandere Boy 26
byChapter 26: The Captivating and Unhinged Young Man 26
Qiao Ling completely failed to grasp what he was trying to say. From all these words, he could only distill it down to five words.
Jiang Ran wants to kill him.
System: "..."
One's gone mad, the other's gone stupid.
Got it. So this is a tragedy.
Qiao Ling started to get scared. He rattled the handcuffs on his wrist, deliberately letting Jiang Ran hear the sound, and flashed a goofy grin.
"Jiang Ran, can we not talk about something so 'heavy' right now? Let me go, and let's grab something to eat! Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"
Jiang Ran looked at the young master's big, watery eyes, so full of sincerity, and suddenly laughed.
He raised his hand to gently stroke the young master's tender cheek, his thin lips parting slowly: "Here we go again."
"What?" Qiao Ling was bewildered.
"Paralyzing me." Jiang Ran said, dead serious. "You're not getting out of this one. Today, I need an answer.
Do you like me or not—is that really such a hard question?
Honestly, I already know the answer in my heart. I just don't get why you keep blowing hot and cold with me."
Judging from everything the young master has done, he should like him—otherwise, why would he have helped him scheme every step of the way?
He cleared away the obstacle that was Jian Qingming and got him back home without a hitch.
Qiao Ling blinked, feeling heavy-hearted.
"Is it only a yes or no? What about option C?"
The young master tilted his head with a giggle, curling his pale fingers into a circle and holding it up to his eye.
What if he liked him a lot but just couldn't let himself?
He was a lesser immortal who had barely managed to take human form by siphoning spiritual energy from the Jade Pool for years. Up in heaven, he was useless and invisible.
He just admired the Supreme Deity, just followed him without permission, and the heavenly officials kicked him down to the mortal world.
The higher-ups also said that if he didn't complete his mission, they'd strip his cultivation.
So he didn't dare like the Supreme Deity anymore!
After all, you can always find another boyfriend, but you only get one life.
Besides... someone as amazing as the Supreme Deity probably wouldn't even like him back. Everyone in the world thought Qiao Ling was a walking 'pipe dream'—even Qiao Ling himself thought so.
Even now, he still thought it was impossible to find anyone more powerful than the Supreme Deity, so his boyfriend-hunting plan could be put on hold.
Of course, that wasn't the most important thing. The most important thing was keeping his own little life safe.
Just following him without permission got him this. If he actually touched the Supreme Deity, wouldn't he get 'chopped' on the spot?
Jiang Ran held the young master's hand, stroking it like it was a rare treasure: "Since you haven't decided yet, I'll give you more time to think."
His warm kiss landed on Qiao Ling's shoulder, and his aggressive, possessive aura completely enveloped him.
Qiao Ling's heart started racing uncontrollably.
He swallowed hard, biting his lower lip to hold back the overwhelming urge to get closer to him.
Even though he didn't know where he was, Qiao Ling was sure Jiang Ran wouldn't hurt him.
Half an hour later, Jiang Ran walked in carrying a tray.
On it were all his usual favorite dishes, plus a plate of uniformly cut fruit.
That obsessive-compulsive attention to detail was clearly Jiang Ran's handiwork.
Qiao Ling looked up at him: "Have you eaten?"
Jiang Ran shook his head: "No appetite."
He was actually a little impressed by Qiao Ling's composure—waking up in a strange place and still having the appetite to eat, even asking if he'd eaten.
"Hey! You were so pissed when you came to find me that you didn't even eat. Your stomach just got better—if you don't eat on time, it'll act up again.
Even if you're in a bad mood right now, you can't just skip meals!"
Qiao Ling was just easygoing by nature—the weight on his heart didn't slow him down at all.
He even scooped up a bite of rice and held it to Jiang Ran's lips, coaxing him: "Ah..."
Jiang Ran's dark gaze locked onto Qiao Ling. His concern, to Jiang Ran right now, was like a small knife slicing through his flesh.
The pain was bearable, but the ache was agonizing.
Would someone who didn't like him care if he ate on time or had stomach issues?
Unless he had way too much free time—but clearly, the young master wasn't that bored.
He opened his mouth and ate the rice, and a small smile spread across the young master's face.
The two of them shared the meal, finishing off everything on the tray.
After washing up, the young master looked at Jiang Ran and asked, "Can we go out and play?"
"It's dark now." Jiang Ran said flatly.
Qiao Ling stared at Jiang Ran and went, "Oh." His face screamed 'let me out, let me out,' yet he acted totally indifferent—especially with those clear, innocent eyes that made it impossible to say no.
"Do you want to go out?" Jiang Ran asked out of nowhere.
Qiao Ling's heart jumped with joy, but he kept his face calm and played it cool: "It's fine, I guess."
"Actually, all you have to do is answer my question."
Qiao Ling: "..."
Back to square one...
He pressed his lips together, and after a long pause, said cautiously, "Can we... can we just be good friends? I'm super tolerant and caring with my friends. You can be my best friend—the one and only in the whole world, okay?"
Qiao Ling coaxed him, his voice almost pleading.
He was baffled too—he'd completed this mission flawlessly!
Now Jiang Ran had a happy family, his biological parents loved him deeply, he'd become the eldest young master of the Jian family, and everyone who'd ever bullied him was rotting in jail.
So why wasn't his mission wrapping up already?
If he just vanished now, wouldn't he dodge this whole either-or question?
The little young master was a total jerk and didn't even know it. Guess he was truly desperate, pulling the "we're just friends" card and all.
A dangerous glint flashed in Jiang Ran's eyes as his hand slid under the covers and squeezed that soft flesh hard.
"You really think this is what good friends do?"
"Little master, tell me—are friends really supposed to do stuff like this?"
That one simple sentence torched every bit of restraint Jiang Ran had left.
He wanted to pop the little master's head open and see what the hell was rattling around in there.
Qiao Ling froze, big eyes locked on Jiang Ran, slowly turning red and welling up, until fat tears spilled over, scalding the back of Jiang Ran's hand.
Jiang Ran had changed!
He'd never been this touchy-feely before—now he was straight-up grabbing his ass!
Qiao Ling was humiliated and pissed off all at once, and his temper shot through the roof.
"Why the hell should I answer just 'cause you tell me to?"
"You know I've helped you with so many things, and you still bully me. Jiang Ran, you're truly an ungrateful dog!"
"You want an answer that badly? Fine—I don't like you anymore!"
"Hehe, I've been loving showdown scenes lately, but it's not really that angsty. Hope my dear readers keep commenting and dropping those five-star reviews!
So here's the question—love or your life, pick one!"
