Chapter 15 The Teasing Yandere Boy 15
byChapter 15: The Teasing Sickly Teen 15
The boy lay beside him, sunlight spilling over his pale, glowing skin.
He looked as defenseless as a sleeping kid, making it hard to believe that the one who'd been so intensely possessive last night was him.
For some reason, Qiao Ling's heart was pounding even harder than last night.
He tried to pull away from the arm wrapped tightly around his waist, but the other held on firmly. No matter what he did, he couldn't get loose, which made Qiao Ling wonder if the guy was really asleep or just faking it...
His whole body was sore and limp, and he had no energy left to fight back.
He stared helplessly at the ceiling and let out a weary sigh.
That damn system was right—this guy was getting way too bold!
Annoyed, he pinched Jiang Ran's nose, and only then did the guy slowly stir awake.
But before Qiao Ling could even complain, the guy leaned in again, like a giant, clingy dog nuzzling up to him for attention.
"Morning." His voice was low and husky, dripping with a heavy, suggestive tone.
That reminded Qiao Ling of the muffled voice whispering in his ear last night.
He couldn't quite remember what was said.
Anyway, each line was dirtier than the last... ahem!
He quickly shut down that train of thought, cleared his throat, and said coldly, "Are you gonna let go or what? How long are you gonna cling to me?!"
Jiang Ran looked up, his long lashes brushing against Qiao Ling's cheek, sending a tingle straight through his heart again.
"I..."
The boy murmured, "I want to cling to you for the rest of my life."
His dark eyes were full of sincerity.
Qiao Ling: "..."
As far as cheesy pick-up lines go, that one was totally unnecessary.
Qiao Ling pushed him away and grabbed a bath towel to wrap around himself.
He stood up to head for the shower but stopped mid-step, his face unreadable.
The guy on the bed propped his head on his arm, his dark eyes tracking Qiao Ling's every move, making Qiao Ling feel awkward all over again.
"Turn your head—stop staring at me!"
The young master's attempt to hide it was way too obvious, but Jiang Ran obediently turned around and looked away.
That view—he'd already seen it plenty of times before.
Once Jiang Ran turned around, Qiao Ling finally reached a hand to his aching waist.
He remembered the big talk he'd given Jiang Ran, but before he could even show off, he'd ended up like this.
The young master held his waist with one hand and clutched the towel with the other, shuffling into the bathroom and slamming the door so hard it nearly broke.
This was literally a paper tiger in every way!
He stared at his wrecked reflection in the mirror and couldn't help yanking at his hair.
Damn it!
His image as the top was totally destroyed!
The young master sulked alone in the bathroom, racking his brain over where it all went wrong.
"You think just 'cause you've got some money you're all that?"
"Once the time's up, we're through!"
That's what Jiang Ran was supposed to say! But what did he actually say?
"I want to cling to you for the rest of my life—"
Qiao Ling stared at the ceiling, feeling hopeless...
-----
An hour later, when Qiao Ling came downstairs, he'd already put back on his usual cold, refined act.
But in the blazing summer heat, no matter how he tried to hide the marks on his neck, there was no covering them up.
Qiao Ling hadn't planned on going out anyway, but now it was decided—he'd be stuck at home for the next few days!
If anyone saw these, what would happen to his reputation as the little tyrant?
Jiang Ran, quick to pick up on things, sensed Qiao Ling's bad mood and set breakfast in front of him.
"Young master, breakfast's ready."
Qiao Ling pressed his lips together, took a sip of milk, and said nothing.
Today, Jiang Ran didn't sit across from Qiao Ling—he sat right next to him.
He kept his eyes on Qiao Ling, and noticing how slowly he was eating, asked, "Young master, are you... still sore?"
Qiao Ling felt his face heat up instantly. He stared at Jiang Ran for a long moment before forcing out a reply.
"Don't talk while eating or sleeping—haven't you heard of that?"
Jiang Ran blinked, pressed his lips together, and took a bite of his sandwich.
After breakfast, the guy hovered around him again like a stubborn shadow, asking worriedly, "Young master, if you're still hurting... want me to go buy some medicine?"
Qiao Ling: "!!!"
"Jiang Ran."
"Hmm?"
"You look your best when you keep your mouth shut."
Qiao Ling thought to himself, how could such a good kid have such a smooth-talking mouth?
The guy seemed to take that as a compliment, stepping closer with a smirk. "I'm fine with just being decent-looking—no need to be too handsome. That might raise your standards too high."
Qiao Ling: "..."
He'd originally figured this guy was a gloomy, pitiful villain, but now it seemed this guy was a master of smooth talk.
Jiang Ran, seeing he genuinely looked like he was about to have a heart attack, decided to stop messing with him.
He grabbed his bag, then leaned in and gave the young master a quick kiss on the forehead: "I'm heading out. Wait for me at home."
Qiao Ling was about to snap back when the system pinged.
"Host, the Jian couple is here."
Qiao Ling took the chance to grab Jiang Ran and said, "You should just take the day off."
Jiang Ran gave him a confused look.
---
At eleven in the morning,
Qiao Huai, Qiao Ling, Jiang Ran, and the Jian couple were all sitting in Qiao Ling's living room.
Qin Qing forced herself to stay composed as she set the paternity test report down on the table.
"This... is the paternity test for me and Jiang Ran. He's our biological son."
Qin Qing's eyes were red-rimmed as she stared at Jiang Ran.
At that moment, both Qiao Huai and Jiang Ran were totally stunned.
Jiang Ran frowned, totally puzzled.
And Qiao Huai found it even harder to believe.
This... was way too much of a coincidence.
"Aunt Qin, what about Jian Qingming...?"
"He's a fraud." Jian Han looked pretty dejected. He pulled a jade pendant from his pocket and set it on the table, asking, "Jiang Ran, do you recognize this?"
Jiang Ran picked it up and said flatly, "I lost this at the orphanage."
"Then that settles it. This is something our son wore since he was little. When we first confirmed Jian Qingming's identity, it was because he had this one-of-a-kind jade pendant. I never thought he'd stolen it."
The more he talked, the darker Jian Han's eyes got.
Qiao Huai was shocked to hear that too.
When Jian Qingming first came back home, he wasn't even ten yet.
A kid under ten with that kind of scheming—you didn't know whether to call him clever or just plain evil!
Right then, Qiao Ling calmly picked up the photo frame from the table and handed it to Qin Qing.
"I got this photo from the orphanage director."
The moment she saw it, Qin Qing recognized her son instantly.
Jiang Ran had never liked having his picture taken as a kid, so he always had that same look.
What sealed it was the jade pendant on his chest—the exact one he'd always worn.
Jiang Ran listened quietly through all of it, then looked at the couple and said evenly, "Just to be safe, we should do another paternity test."
At that moment, Jiang Ran finally understood why Jian Qingming had been coming after him all this time.
