Chapter 3: We’ve Already Kissed, Sleeping Together Is Nothing
byChapter 3: We've Already Kissed, Sleeping Together Is Nothing
"Quick, inject the suppressant first."
The doctor skillfully took out the suppressant and injected the dazed Qin Yan with it.
It took effect quickly. Qin Yan felt his chaotic mind clear up a bit, his limbs were responding again, without that animalistic, primal urge from earlier.
Terrifying.
He quietly breathed a sigh of relief. What was the difference between a human driven by pheromones and an animal that had lost its mind?
While he was zoned out, Dr. Li took out gauze and disinfectant, and with a swift motion, shoved up the loose sleeve of Qin Yan's robe.
"?"
"Ouch!" Dr. Li exclaimed, unable to help but suck in a sharp breath. "How did this bite get so deep? Who the hell dared to do this?"
"..."
Qin Yan rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, too embarrassed to admit that 'he' had basically groped the poor Omega, who'd bitten him out of panic.
"Ahem, just hurry up and clean and bandage it."
"Of course."
Dr. Li patched up the wound quickly and was about to leave when Qin Yan called out to him: "And him."
"Hmm?"
"Check him too." Qin Yan pointed at the person forgotten on the bed, touching the tip of his nose. "He seems to be in heat, and he hasn't had a suppressant shot."
"What?" Dr. Li slammed his medical kit down, and when he turned to see Su Zhiyu's pale face, he nearly blacked out. "Young master, why didn't you tell me sooner? He's really been through it."
It was way more than just a little suffering.
In the comic, the original body's owner deliberately smashed Su Zhiyu's suppressant just to watch him suffer in agony and humiliation, which included both verbal and physical abuse.
It was just plain awful.
Qin Yan rubbed his hands together, awkwardly trying to change the subject: "So, does not getting a suppressant shot in time during heat make you pass out?"
The doctor quickly gave him the shot and replied, "Not necessarily. Mr. Su's body is just too weak, and part of it might be because of your pheromones, young master."
"Me?"
"Yes, young master, you're an S-grade Alpha. You must have let off some pheromones just now. He couldn't take it, and with the fever on top of that, he passed out."
"..."
With a body that frail, and after taking a cold shower, it'd be weird if he didn't get a fever.
Qin Yan nodded: "Give him some meds. Can you also prescribe something for the wounds on his body? And something to help build up his health."
Su Zhiyu was the main character of the story.
Even though he was a sickly, weak Omega right now, there would come a day when he'd bounce back, and his revenge would be brutal. Qin Yan didn't want to end up dead in a ditch.
Better to make up for it now, score some goodwill points, and then slip away.
The doctor checked Su Zhiyu's wounds, shooting Qin Yan a few knowing looks, and said seriously:
"Young master, I'm not one to nag, but you can't be so reckless just because you're young. Mr. Su's body is weak, he can't handle you being so rough with him. Don't take it too far."
"..."
Qin Yan's ears turned red as he looked away sheepishly: "Got it."
"?" The doctor's eyes went wide in shock. "Are you possessed by a ghost or something? You're being so well-behaved, you're not even cursing me out?"
"?"
This was the first time Qin Yan had ever heard such a request.
Oh, right.
Given how arrogant the original owner was, how could he ever listen to advice and just nod? If he didn't curse someone out, he didn't deserve the surname Qin.
Qin Yan twitched the corner of his mouth nervously—well, he really had been possessed by a ghost.
Even a doctor could tell. If everyone else figured it out, would they call a Taoist priest to exorcise him?
No, he couldn't change that suddenly.
Having thought it through, Qin Yan's eyes narrowed as he snapped back impatiently: "What's it to you what I do? Mind your own damn business."
The doctor's shocked expression instantly relaxed, and he grinned with relief: "There's the young master I know."
"Enough chit-chat, get out when you're done."
"Got it."
The doctor gave Su Zhiyu fever medicine and prescribed a bunch of traditional Chinese medicine to help build up his health. Su Zhiyu's body was truly too weak.
Qin Yan stared at the huge bag of Chinese medicine in the butler's hands, his eyes glazing over.
His head hurt. He was so sleepy.
"Young master, should we start brewing this for Mr. Su tomorrow morning? It's already pretty late."
Qin Yan glanced at the person on the bed, whose lips were twitching slightly, and waved his hand: "We'll deal with it tomorrow. You can head out now."
"Very well."
The door clicked shut, and Qin Yan looked around, planning to lay a mattress on the couch and crash there for the night.
But just as he was about to leave, someone grabbed his wrist.
"Don't go... don't leave me..."
The weak murmur sounded helpless and fragile.
Qin Yan froze, couldn't bear to leave, and turned back to crouch by the bed, speaking gently: "Okay, okay, I'm not going anywhere. Don't be scared."
"Don't go..."
"I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay right here with you, okay?"
Su Zhiyu, without even realizing it, tried to grasp that faint scent, trying to hold onto the pheromones that soothed him.
Like someone caught in the waves, clutching the only piece of driftwood nearby.
Qin Yan yawned. The pain in his wrist had nearly faded, giving way to a heavier and heavier drowsiness.
He looked at his wrist, held firmly in Su Zhiyu's grip, and just threw back the covers and climbed into bed.
They'd already kissed; sharing a bed was no big deal.
What's the big deal?
...
When the first light of dawn seeped through the gap in the curtains, falling across their sleeping faces.
His long lashes fluttered.
Su Zhiyu was the first to open his eyes. He moved his fingers and noticed his hand was wrapped in someone else's palm, the warmth of skin-to-skin contact spreading from his fingertips all the way through his body.
The chaotic scenes from last night flooded back into his mind.
He was going into heat.
And then what?
Qin Yan had ruined his remaining suppressants and inhibitor patches, dragged him into the bathroom, drenched him in cold water, and had even tried to mark him.
"!"
Su Zhiyu yanked his hand back as if he'd been burned, and turning his head, saw Qin Yan fast asleep. Rage welled up inside him.
Qin Yan, you deserve to die!
A cold, vicious glint flashed through his dark eyes. He flipped over, straddling Qin Yan, and grabbed him by the throat.
Still half-asleep, Qin Yan immediately frowned in discomfort.
Who the hell was choking him?
"Cough, cough."
Qin Yan struggled to open his eyes, gasping for air, and suddenly met Su Zhiyu's dark, hateful gaze, making him shiver for no reason he could understand.
Shit.
Was this Omega protagonist trying to finish him off while he was down?
Wait...
Qin Yan tried to speak, but it was getting harder to breathe. His face turning red, he clawed at the hands around his neck.
"...I... let me explain..."
Qin Yan's brow furrowed frantically.
After the original owner had forcibly marked Su Zhiyu, he'd been utterly devastated and had indeed planned to take the original owner down with him.
But not only had he failed, he'd pissed off the original owner and earned himself even crueler punishment.
But he hadn't marked Su Zhiyu.
Could it be that Su Zhiyu thought he'd already been marked, and that's why he wanted to kill him?
"Su—"
"Shut up!" Su Zhiyu's eyes were bloodshot, his hoarse voice laced with bitter despair. "You can hit me, scold me, torment me all you want, but why, why would you use such a..."
Such a despicable, vile method against him?
