Chapter 10: Su Zhiyu, Do You Want Me to Help You?

The luxury car came to a smooth stop in a temporary parking area by the roadside, and the dazzling bright blue attracted quite a few passersby who stopped to look.

But Qin Yan couldn't care less at the moment.

A normal Omega experiences heat once a month, and as long as they get their suppressants on time, there's usually no problem.

But there are exceptions—an Omega's heat can be forcibly triggered by an Alpha's pheromones.

With an abnormal heat like this, the closer it is to the last one, the easier it is for the Omega to lose control.

Su Zhiyu's last heat was less than two weeks ago.

If he doesn't get relief in time, it can cause serious damage to an Omega's body.

This is also a big reason Omegas are at a disadvantage in society—no matter how capable they are, they're always at the mercy of an Alpha's natural dominance.

No matter how good the laws are, they can't stop some people's bad intentions.

    "Mm..."

A soft, muffled groan hit Qin Yan's eardrums, like an electric current shooting from his feet up through his body, leaving half of him numb.

He fought the urge and grabbed Su Zhiyu's hand to comfort him: "Just hold on a little longer, it'll be over soon."

He was trying to comfort himself, too.

    Just wait, it'll be fine.

But Su Zhiyu, out of his mind, clearly didn't agree. He hooked his fingers around Qin Yan's and leaned in.

    "Give... give me your scent..."

His ragged breaths spilled across the back of Qin Yan's neck.

    Inching closer and closer.

Suddenly, Qin Yan felt something coming and was about to say something to stop him when he felt a sharp sting on the back of his neck, and the overwhelming rum scent surged even stronger.

Su Zhiyu let out two satisfied hums.

    Qin Yan was completely dumbfounded.

He... he got bitten by an Omega?

Soon, that little bit of scent wasn't enough for Su Zhiyu. He lifted his head and nuzzled around everywhere, like a puppy.

Qin Yan's mind drifted off on a random tangent.

He thought: An Alpha who could stay unmoved by this—might as well be impotent, right?

As if possessed, he cupped the head that was nuzzling into his chest and stared intently into those dazed teal-green eyes: "Su Zhiyu, do you want me to help you?"

Su Zhiyu's long lashes fluttered, and he let out a pained whimper.

Qin Yan took a deep breath: "Alright, I get it. You asked for this."

With that, Qin Yan slid an arm around Su Zhiyu's waist, leaned in, and stopped a centimeter from his lips.

    "Su Zhiyu, come closer."

Su Zhiyu looked at him with hazy eyes, the heat tormenting him had completely robbed him of his ability to think, so he obediently leaned in.

The car was so quiet, all you could hear was the two of them breathing.

Qin Yan tightened his grip, as if he could hear his own frantic heartbeat—thump, thump—like it was about to jump out of his chest.

The scorching rum scent freely swept over the Omega's sensitive body, mingling with the peach wine scent, sinking deeper into a drunken haze.

    Click.

The driver's side door was yanked open without warning, and the driver was about to climb in when Qin Yan's low, rough voice came from the back seat: "Don't you dare turn around!"

    "?"

Did someone kidnap the young master?

The driver's head tilted back just a little, and Qin Yan gritted his teeth: "Turn around and I'll dock three months of your pay."

    "!"

The head that had been halfway turned snapped back into place: "Yes, young master. I've bought the suppressant patches."

Qin Yan was breathing hard. He wanted to say screw it and keep kissing, but the last shred of sanity pulled him back.

    He couldn't keep going.

    "Give it to me."

The driver shoved a bag into the back.

Qin Yan took it, tore open a suppressant patch with shaking hands, and held down Su Zhiyu, who was starting to squirm again: "Be good and stay still."

The cool patch stuck to the back of his neck, and Qin Yan tore open another one and put it on himself too.

The pheromones spreading everywhere were blocked, and Su Zhiyu closed his eyes, his whole body going limp.

Qin Yan silently let out a breath of relief, his nearly out-of-control emotions yanked back under control.

    Tsk.

He kissed him again—though this time, he didn't initiate it.

The car pulled away smoothly, and Qin Yan straightened up, turning to look out the window, deliberately ignoring his burning ears.

    In the quiet.

Su Zhiyu slowly blinked his eyes open. He caught sight of Qin Yan's sharp jawline, their fingers still linked together, and the way he was staring seriously out the window while occasionally telling the driver to speed up.

Not a trace of his usual slacker vibe.

It was like... he'd become a completely different person.

Su Zhiyu was stunned for a second, then curled the corner of his mouth in a self-deprecating smile. He never thought that in such a dirty, helpless moment, the one who'd come to save him would be Qin Yan of all people.

And he'd even been the one to ask for his scent.

    Crazy?

    "Young Master, we're here."

    "Okay."

Qin Yan got out of the car in a flash, sprinting toward the hospital with a barely conscious Su Zhiyu in his arms, not noticing that Su Zhiyu had already woken up.

    In the hospital room.

Qin Yan listened intently, jotting down the doctor's instructions, nodding now and then, or asking questions when something wasn't clear.

Su Zhiyu lay in bed, staring blankly at the scene, feeling like this had to be some kind of dream.

He'd been hurt and passed out plenty of times before.

But he'd never seen worry or urgency on Qin Yan's face—only that lofty arrogance and mockery.

    But...

But Qin Yan hated him so much—just recently, he'd viciously threatened to mark him. So why was he worried about him now?

And... even then, he hadn't marked him.

    Why?

"Thanks, doctor. Appreciate your hard work." Qin Yan saw the doctor out, turned, and caught Su Zhiyu staring at him.

The startled little rabbit didn't even have time to dart his gaze away before being caught in the act.

He froze up again, scared stiff.

Qin Yan held the medical records, fighting back an inexplicable urge to laugh. Su Zhiyu really was too much like a rabbit—any little thing would make him jump out of his skin.

'He... must be really insecure to be like this.'

Qin Yan hid the amusement in his eyes. He'd wanted to throw out a few mocking words to stay in character, but the sight of Su Zhiyu's panicked, red-rimmed eyes made the words die in his throat.

He sat down on the edge of the bed, hesitated, then said, "Don't sleep on your back for a while. Side or stomach is fine."

Su Zhiyu pressed his lips together and burrowed deeper into the blanket, staying silent.

Qin Yan was used to it. He rattled off all the precautions by himself, then finally asked, "Got it?"

    "..."

"Didn't get it? Then I'll say it again."

    "Got it."

A quiet, muffled voice came from under the covers.

Qin Yan blinked in surprise, then let out a laugh: "Alright, good. You need to get better—the next shoot's in about ten days."

Su Zhiyu didn't know why Qin Yan was laughing, but his smile seemed infectious.

The boy's death grip on his fist slowly loosened: "Mm, I know."

    "Good."

In the silence, a hand crept over quietly.
