Chapter 111: Uninvited
byChapter 111: Uninvited
"Understood!" Gong Xin Yi smiled, pulling out a thick envelope from his pocket, "Sister, here's your housekeeper salary!"
"You're paying me for just those few days of work?" Jin Yu took the envelope, finding at least five thousand inside, "Isn't this too much?"
"It's not too much; it includes a bonus. You've earned it," Gong Xin Yi said with a smile.
"Then I'll gladly accept it." Jin Yu happily pocketed the envelope, boldly patting Gong Xin Yi on the shoulder.
"I'm warning you, from now on, you better not let my sister get hurt even a little bit, or else, my mom and I will make sure you regret it!"
"Don't worry, something like today will never happen again!" Gong Xin Yi took Leng Xi Yue's hand, "Let's go have dinner."
Watching their intimate departure, Jin Yu felt both excited and thrilled, as if she had found a life partner of her own.
Passing by Jin's mother's room, Leng Xi Yue heard the children's joyful laughter, she quietly approached to secretly watch what the children were doing.
Da Ya, with sharp eyes, spotted mommy and excitedly said, "Mommy, come and listen to the story, grandma tells such good stories."
"How about we listen after dinner, okay?" Leng Xi Yue negotiated with the children.
"Okay." The children agreed in unison, their voices clear and melodious.
Noticing the children scrambling out disorderly, Leng Xi Yue shook her head, "You can't run like that, line up, and also, grandma is old, who will help grandma to the dining room?"
"Me!" Da Ya immediately grabbed Jin's mother's hand, "Grandma, I'll help you to the dining room."
"Good, such a sensible child," Jin's mother held Da Ya's small hand, telling the other five, "You go ahead, grandma is tall, I'll stand at the back."
The five children obediently formed a line, walking orderly to the dining room and even went to wash their hands by the sink on their own.
Seeing all this, Gong Xin Yi said to Leng Xi Yue with tenderness, "You've raised the children really well."
Really? Leng Xi Yue felt a bit life-questioning as she was praised. It seemed not long ago, someone was saying she had spoiled the children.
After the children washed their hands, Gong Xin Yi picked them up one by one onto the chairs.
"Time to eat, let's see what daddy has brought you? Wow, so many delicious dishes."
Gong Xin Yi had packed a total of eighteen dishes, including ten meat dishes, six vegetarian dishes, two soups, along with ten boxes of rice.
He believed that for four adults and six children, this amount of food would be more than enough.
Just as Jin's mother sat down, she suddenly remembered the two new guests needed meals and quickly stood up, "Ah Yu, I need to make some home-cooked dishes."
At this, Jin Yu also remembered, not having prepared meals for Wu Gang and Liu Juan, "Mom, you eat here, I'll go cook!"
Just then, Liu Juan, attracted by the smell, came to the dining room and found a table full of lavish dishes, yelling, "Gang, it's time to eat!"
Wu Gang hurried over, glanced at the dishes on the table, and said with a hint of disappointment, "I thought we were having home-cooked meals? Why is it all takeout?"
Gong Xin Yi and Leng Xi Yue looked at each other, clueless about what was happening.
Jin's mother apologetically said, "Sorry, I haven't started cooking the home-cooked dishes yet. These dishes were bought by the children's father for them."
Liu Juan glanced at the lavish dishes, swallowed her saliva, and said reluctantly, "So, this table isn't for us, then. When will you make the home-cooked dishes? I'm already very hungry."
Wu Gang couldn't bear to see his girlfriend hungry and said, "We're already here, let her eat a bit. She has a weak stomach and can't be hungry. I don't mind, I can eat later."
Jin's mother and Jin Yu both looked at Gong Xin Yi, after all, he was the one who bought the dishes.
Gong Xin Yi generously extended his hand, "Let's eat together, please take a seat!"
"Then I won't be polite." Wu Gang immediately pulled out a chair for Liu Juan to sit, then pushed all the dishes in front of Liu Juan, "Juan, you eat first, if it's not enough, we'll order more."
