Chapter 5 Don’t Touch Me
byChapter 5 Don't Touch Me
The headlights were somewhat blinding, and Sheng Xiyang couldn’t discern whether the concern in Sheng Ai’s expression was genuine or feigned.
But he had always found it impossible to refuse kindness from others. Moreover, if Sheng Ai knew that Sheng Xiyang was an impostor and still treated him so well, then he would be quite the good-hearted person.
Sheng Xiyang felt a pang of sympathy for Sheng Ai and softly said, "I don’t blame you, brother."
Sheng Ai was taken aback.
Sheng Xiyang realized he wouldn’t be able to leave tonight.
He looked back at Cao Jing with a troubled expression, "Then I’ll go back with my brother first."
Cao Jing laughed heartily, noticing how Sheng Ai, though always gentle with others, seemed to exude an air of authority before him. He quickly replied, "Go back then, and don’t mention anything about going to the pier again."
Sheng Xiyang: "…"
First place in selling out his friend.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Sheng Ai’s hand trembled slightly, "To the pier?"
"No, no!" Sheng Xiyang quickly turned Sheng Ai around and pushed him back, "I was just joking with Young Master Cao! I said I wanted to take a look at the pier to see if there were any fireworks..."
He rambled on, pushing Sheng Ai towards the car, and personally opened the door for him, smiling ingratiatingly, "Get in the car, brother."
Sheng Ai gazed at Sheng Xiyang with a strange, unfamiliar look. He didn’t understand why Sheng Xiyang had suddenly changed, always smiling, completely different from the gloomy and irritable Sheng Xiyang of the past.
Sheng Xiyang blinked his bright, clear eyes and tilted his head, asking, "Brother?"
Sheng Ai remained silent, sighed, and got into the car.
Sheng Xiyang hurriedly ran to the other side, opened the door, and climbed into the passenger seat.
On the way home, Sheng Xiyang cautiously glanced at Sheng Ai, unsure how Sheng Ai would bring up the matter of the fake young master.
The atmosphere in the car fell silent. Sheng Xiyang pondered whether to break the silence, but Sheng Ai spoke first.
"Xiyang... I didn’t mean to punish you," his voice was soft and slightly hoarse, "but if you want to marry a wife or take a concubine, I can arrange it for you. Just don’t go around insulting the maids in the house without reason."
Sheng Xiyang thought to himself, did the original body just want a woman? Judging by the nurse at the hospital, he probably hadn’t been a saint.
So, to show his repentance, he turned to Sheng Ai and said, "Brother, I don’t want a wife or a concubine. I admit I lost my mind before; I was wrong. You were right to punish me, and I won’t do it again."
Sheng Ai almost slammed on the brakes.
He looked at Sheng Xiyang, disbelief in his eyes.
Sheng Xiyang knew he was completely off-character, but who cared? There was no system preventing him from being out of character. Since he had come here, he had to be himself.
Besides, he wanted to win Sheng Ai’s favor, provided Sheng Ai didn’t plan to kick him out.
Seeing Sheng Ai still staring at him, Sheng Xiyang held four fingers together beside his head, "Brother, I swear, if I misbehave again, may I be struck by lightning and suffer..."
Sheng Ai reached out and covered Sheng Xiyang’s mouth, his voice exasperated, "Enough."
Sheng Xiyang made muffled sounds, pulling down Sheng Ai’s hand, "Brother, don’t doubt me. I’m telling the truth."
Sheng Ai was once again taken aback.
Sheng Xiyang held Sheng Ai’s hand, looking at him earnestly, his eyes shining brightly. The warmth of his hands was unusual, unlike the coldness they used to have.
After a long silence, Sheng Ai sighed and withdrew his hand, "It’s good that you understand."
Sheng Xiyang scratched his face, feeling that Sheng Ai still didn’t fully believe him.
But that was all he could do. In time, Sheng Ai would realize the truth. After all, he had always respected girls and never acted improperly.
Upon returning to Sheng Mansion, a servant opened the car door for them.
As Sheng Xiyang stepped out, he felt the servant give him a disapproving glance.
Not sure, he looked again.
Yes, it was definitely a disapproving glance.
Following Sheng Ai into the brightly lit Sheng Mansion, the servants greeted Sheng Ai with utmost respect but looked at Sheng Xiyang with disdain.
Sheng Xiyang suspected that everyone in the mansion might know he was a fake young master.
Sheng Ai handed his jacket to Aunt Zhao and turned to Sheng Xiyang, "What do you want to eat? Are you hungry?"
Sheng Xiyang wasn’t hungry, having just gorged himself before leaving the hospital. Recalling today’s allergic reaction, he shook his head, "I’m not hungry."
Sheng Ai looked at Sheng Xiyang, his eyes behind the glasses deep and probing. He reached out and touched Sheng Xiyang’s head, "You never used to be allergic and loved shrimp dumplings. Why did you suddenly become allergic?"
Mentioning this, Sheng Xiyang felt a bit guilty, "Maybe it’s because I ate too much... and suddenly became allergic."
Sheng Ai didn’t say anything more and instructed Aunt Zhao, "From now on, no shrimp dishes are allowed in the house."
"Yes," Aunt Zhao agreed.
Sheng Ai looked at Sheng Xiyang again.
Sheng Xiyang also looked at Sheng Ai.
After a while, realizing Sheng Ai might keep waiting for him to decide something to eat, he hesitated for a moment and said, "I... I want to eat ginger milk pudding."
Hearing this, both Sheng Ai and Aunt Zhao were surprised.
Okay, Sheng Xiyang knew he had stepped on a mine again; the original body probably didn't like sweet things.
Aunt Zhao said, "I'll have someone prepare it right away."
Sheng Xiyang, fearing Aunt Zhao might be upset, quickly thanked her, "Thank you, Aunt Zhao!"
Aunt Zhao looked as if she had seen a ghost, "N-no need to thank me, Young Master Xiyang."
Before Sheng Xiyang could react, Sheng Ai ruffled his hair and smiled slightly, "After teaching you for so many years, you've finally learned to say thank you."
Without waiting for Sheng Xiyang to speak, Sheng Ai added, "Go upstairs and rest; your head injury hasn't healed yet."
Sheng Xiyang instinctively touched his head and exclaimed, "Ouch."
"Don't touch it," Sheng Ai frowned, reaching out to remove Sheng Xiyang's hand, "Go upstairs."
Sheng Xiyang nodded vigorously, almost making himself dizzy.
After going upstairs, he sat down by the bed, holding his injured head. He thought for a moment and concluded that Sheng Ai's gaze was still quite gentle, likely meaning he wasn't planning to expose the fake young master just yet.
If Sheng Ai didn't intend to drive him away, then Sheng Xiyang wanted to repay Sheng Ai more, after all, regardless of the fact that his original body was a fake young master, his own soul was also an outsider who had come to this world, and Sheng Ai was the only one who had been kind to him.
Sheng Xiyang took off his shoes and sat obediently on the bed, waiting for someone to knock lightly on the door.
He said, "Come in, the door isn't locked."
The door opened, and Sheng Ai entered with a bowl of ginger milk pudding.
Sheng Xiyang reached out to take the ginger milk pudding, "Thank you, Brother..."
But Sheng Ai didn't let him hold it, instead, he held it himself and sat down beside him, "Don't bother; I'll do it."
Sheng Xiyang lowered his hand and watched Sheng Ai carefully.
Sheng Ai scooped a spoonful of ginger milk pudding and brought it to Sheng Xiyang's lips.
