    Chapter 105 Survival (1)

Su Han pulled the map from her bag while staying alert. Fortunately, perhaps because she had entered the game early, there was no one else around.

She quickly spread open the map and noticed that food, daily necessities, medicine, and weapon resource points were marked with dots in different colors.

    Food was green.

    Daily necessities were blue.

    Medicine was white.

    Weapons were red.

The color coding made it easy to read at a glance.

However, after counting the number of resource points, Su Han couldn’t help but frown—twenty green dots, twenty blue dots, ten white dots, and fifty red dots. Too few resources, too many weapons—this was clearly encouraging players to start fights.

After a moment’s thought, she stuffed the map back into her bag and hurried toward the nearest red (weapon) resource point.

After three minutes of walking and jogging, Su Han reached her destination. Before her stood a massive old tree with dense foliage. A red rope was tied to one of its branches, and at the other end of the rope hung a baseball bat.

Su Han tilted her head back and stared at it for a solid minute. She thought to herself that if she couldn’t pull it down, she’d have to climb the tree—unfortunately, climbing trees was an advanced skill she didn’t possess…

Taking a deep breath, she took two steps back, then took a running jump, successfully grabbing the baseball bat.

In fact, it went smoother than expected. With a bit of effort, she managed to yank it loose.

With the bat in hand, Su Han finally felt a little safer.

There was no time to waste—every minute wasted meant more players joining the game to compete for resources. She had to visit as many resource points as possible before the main wave of players arrived.

After securing the weapon, Su Han made her next target a green (food) resource point.

Although her Nutritionist profession provided bread and milk, she didn’t want to rely entirely on her Innate Ability. What if luck wasn’t on her side?

Besides, not having any drinking water was not good.

The green (food) resource point was a bit farther away, about a seven- or eight-minute walk. But Su Han had no choice—she could only keep moving.

Along the way, she passed through a forest where fallen leaves carpeted the ground.

Su Han hurried forward, but just then, she heard a faint *snap*—like someone stepping on a twig.

She stopped dead, scanning her surroundings. But everything was dead quiet, as if the sound had been her imagination.

Trouble! This is bad! Su Han remained highly alert, retreating step by step.

Once she was out of the forest’s edge, she quickly changed course—though she didn’t know what kind of trap might be lurking in the woods, she wasn’t about to stick around and find out. Safety first.

Long after Su Han had left, a head poked out from the bushes, complained, "Why did you have to make noise? Now the prey got away!"

From the nearby thicket, another person straightened up and laughed nervously, "Sorry, sorry, I didn’t notice the dry branch underfoot. But then again, they were quick—the moment they sensed something off, they took off immediately."

"No one who's survived this long is stupid. Can’t you be more careful?"

"Alright, I messed up. Next time I’ll be more cautious and hide better."

"Shh! Down! Keep quiet! Someone else is coming..."

    **

There are a total of 100 resource points but 120 players—more players than resources. Resources are all up for grabs.

Occasionally, situations like this arise—several players target the same resource point and end up fighting over it. As a result, some resource points inevitably remain unclaimed.

Su Han got a bad feeling and immediately abandoned her original route, heading for a different green (food) spot instead.

As time passed, she estimated most players had already entered the game. She stayed on high alert.

Unexpectedly, the new route was smooth. Fifteen minutes later, she arrived at her destination without trouble.

From a distance, Su Han spotted a white foam box slanted on a tree branch. The branch was too high to jump for.

At the base of the tree, a girl in a teal shirt was leaping repeatedly, trying to grab the foam box. But despite multiple attempts, she still couldn’t reach it.

A player. Su Han kept a straight face but her grip on the bat tightened slightly.

She approached step by step, not bothering to quiet her steps. When the distance between them narrowed to five meters, the girl in the teal shirt heard the noise behind her and turned around.

Su Han braced for a fight, but to her surprise, the girl’s face lit up. "The supply box is up there on the branch. Can you help me get it down? I’ve been jumping forever and still can’t reach it."

Su Han: "... If this weren’t a players-only instance, I’d think you were an NPC."

Su Han didn’t budge. "Why are you alone here?"

The girl slumped a little. "I just entered the instance and got separated from my teammate. I wanted to grab the supply box first and wait for them to find me."

Then she perked up and added, "If you help me, I’ll make it worth your while. I’ll split the supplies in the box with you—half and half!"

Su Han deadpanned. If she were ruthless, she could just eliminate this competitor outright. Then she wouldn’t just get half—she’d take the entire supply box. How’d someone this clueless last so long?

"How did you make it to the eleventh instance?" Su Han asked bluntly.

The girl looked proud. "My boyfriend’s a pro! As long as I find food and water, he’ll come find me."

"That’s great—having such a reliable boyfriend," Su Han said flatly.

The girl smiled shyly, as if slightly embarrassed. But soon, she fidgeted and chirped, "So, can you help me get the box down? Please?"

"The box is on the tree trunk, huh… Let me think." Su Han fell into thought.

The girl fidgeted, but her hand crept toward her bag.

What amazing boyfriend? She had no teammates—she’d survived all on her own!

Heh, people were such suckers, unable to refuse a request from a cute young girl. How could someone who’d made it to the eleventh round be so careless as to turn their back on a stranger? Total moron!

The girl smirked as she swiftly drew a crossbow and fired a tranquilizer dart without hesitation.

"Swish—" The dart shot through the air with a faint whistling sound.

But Su Han, as if she had eyes on the back of her head, sidestepped and took cover behind a tree.

The attack, which should’ve been a sure hit, missed completely. The girl gaped. "You… How…?"

"Never teamed up before, huh? Your excuse was too ridiculous." Su Han smirked coldly.

"Just wait here for your boyfriend to find you? Ha, unless he’s got the system on speed dial, how could he track anyone down so easily?"

"Even if there really was a special way to contact each other, with the ditzy, naive act you've shown, you'd be dead long before your boyfriend could arrive."

"Use your brain before lying—don’t make it so obvious."

The young woman's eyes flickered. She looked up and asked, "Since you knew I was lying, why didn’t you attack first?"

"I don’t like attacking the old, weak, women, or kids—it’s a matter of principle." Su Han paused, her gaze steady as she looked at the other woman and said slowly, "But since you provoked me, there’s no helping it."

"Like you could take me even if you tried," the young woman sneered, quickly reloading her crossbow and aiming it at her target.

Su Han flung the baseball bat.

The young woman dodged to the side.

Before the other could react, Su Han lunged forward, knocking the crossbow away. Without hesitation, she threw a punch.

Shock and panic flashed in the young woman’s eyes as she thrashed wildly, struggling desperately.

Su Han flipped over and pinned the young woman beneath her, one hand holding her down while the other continued punching. Between blows, she muttered, "Guess I’m stuck using my fists. My usual weapon wasn’t allowed in, and I haven’t found a decent replacement. Just bear with it—you’ll be out soon."

The young woman endured as long as she could before finally snapping, "Fuck your ancestors!"

Su Han shrugged indifferently. "Be my guest."

    The young woman, "..."

She tried to bite, but Su Han blocked her mouth with her free hand. The young woman ended up biting her own tongue, tears welling up from the pain.

"16% health left—hang in there," Su Han said, offering no real comfort as she redoubled her efforts to eliminate her opponent.

The young woman glared at Su Han with seething resentment, but in the end, nothing changed. She still vanished in a flash of white light.

*Thud.* The moment the player disappeared, her satchel dropped to the ground.

"You get to lie shamelessly, but I can’t retaliate?" Su Han sighed as she picked up the satchel.

Opening it, she found biscuits, chocolate, soap, bandages, pills, a small bottle of water, and three anesthetic darts—quite a variety.

After inspecting the contents, Su Han zipped the bag shut and slung it diagonally across her chest. Then, she headed for her dropped bat.

But just as she was about to reach it, she suddenly raised the crossbow and fired without hesitation.

The dart shot out, and a low groan came from the bushes—it sounded unmistakably like a man’s voice.

Su Han swiftly reloaded the crossbow and asked coldly, "Get a good look? Lurking around, waiting to swoop in? Too bad I wiped the floor with her—you’re not getting any cheap wins today."

From the bushes, a burly man emerged, clutching his dart-pierced hand. He gave a strained laugh. "Misunderstanding. It’s all a misunderstanding."

Su Han said nothing, raising the crossbow to aim at his forehead—planning to call *this* a 'misunderstanding' too.

"I wanted the supply crate, but when I got here, you two were fighting. I didn’t want trouble, so I hid," the man explained.

Perhaps realizing how weak his excuse sounded, he raised his hands in surrender. "Tell you what—I’ll fetch the supply crate for you, and you let me go?"

Su Han didn’t budge. She kept the crossbow raised and said coldly, "Fetch it. *Then* we’ll talk."
