Chapter 65
by 远行不渡Chapter 65
"This guy was two-timing hard—when he first started college, even though he already had a girlfriend, he sent the same love message to every girl in the class. Since it was freshman year and no one really knew each other yet, before the class group chat even existed, he literally managed to secretly date three classmates at once."
"It wasn't until halfway through sophomore year when they moved dorms and the three girls ended up in the same room that his scheme blew up in his face. Once they put two and two together, they realized they were all dating the same guy. And not only that—he'd spend mornings shopping with Girl A, afternoons buying cosmetics with Girl B, and evenings watching movies with Girl C."
"Hmm… Now *that’s* what I call efficiency."
"On top of that, he paid for everything. All the money he made performing with his band went straight into dating those girls. When someone asked him why he did it, he said—"
What? What? It's been forever since we've had such juicy drama.
"Purely for the thrill of it."
Someone muttered, "Dude's messed up."
Seriously though.
"My god, who even does that for kicks?"
"Why does this voice keep glitching like that?"
Do we seriously have to sit through ads or pay just to hear some gossip in our heads now?
Even though everyone grumbled under their breath, they leaned in closer, dying to hear what happened next.
"Erm... is this basically the real-life version of 'I thought we were brothers, but you wanted to be my dad'?"
Tang Rui's bandmates: ?
Their band was all guys, and they were all super close friends. So exactly whose dad was Tang Rui trying to be?
While the others were still trying to figure it out, drummer Gao Cang’s face turned stone cold.
His parents had just divorced a few months ago, and recently, his mom had been out at all hours. He thought she might’ve been scammed by some sketchy salespeople, so he’d secretly followed her a couple times—but found nothing. Could it be Tang Rui hitting on his mom?
"Tang Rui hasn’t gotten caught because he’s super careful. Whenever the band takes a break, he never meets any of his teammates’ moms."
Great, just great.
Screw this—I’m kicking his ass first.
Gao Cang grabbed his drumstick and charged straight at Tang Rui, swinging hard at his shoulder.
The hit knocked Tang Rui’s shoulder sideways. He stared at Gao Cang in shock. "Have you lost your damn mind?"
"Worse than insane—I’ll murder you!"
"What are you all standing around for? Grab Gao Cang already! You gonna let him kill Tang Rui?"
Finally, the rest snapped into action—two pulling Gao Cang back, one grabbing Tang Rui.
"Get your hands off me!" Tang Rui shouted. "I didn’t start this—he hit me! Why’re you grabbing me? I know none of you liked me being leader, but I never thought—"
"Never thought what, huh? Did it ever cross your mind while you were dating someone’s mom?"
"And you even said Gao Cang might as well be your son, and that you’d take good care of him."
Well, shit.
Tang Rui's teammates said they didn’t want to defend Gao Cang anymore—they even felt like helping him beat Tang Rui up.
The scheduled performance time arrived, and the event organizer came over to ask if they were still going to perform.
Tang Rui snapped, "Screw performing, the band’s splitting up anyway."
Seeing the blood at the corner of Tang Rui’s mouth, the organizer understood, but he couldn’t afford a loss either. He said, "If you can’t perform, hand over the sheet music. I’ll find someone else to sing."
If it weren’t for Tang Rui’s some talent, he wouldn’t have hired their band in the first place.
"The sheet music wasn’t even written by him—it was all composed by his girlfriends."
Everyone suddenly realized—this wasn’t about artistic pursuit, it was just plagiarism.
Gao Cang’s mother was a songwriter. He had found it strange that Tang Rui’s recent songs bore some resemblance to her style, but he dismissed it as coincidence.
Now… Gao Cang lunged at him again.
With the performance canceled, Lin Tingyue and Lin Xiawan went to the beach to collect seashells.
On the way back, Lin Tingyue said seriously, "Sis, that guy’s no good. Don’t ever get involved with him."
Was Lin Tingyue mistaken?
Well, let her misunderstand. Lin Xiawan nodded.
Dating was risky—she figured it’d be better to let Lin Tingyue choose for herself.
"Don’t be so down, sis. Even though we didn’t get to see the show, I saw the ocean and picked up so many seashells. I’m perfectly happy with that."
Lin Xiawan turned her head and saw Lin Tingyue’s radiant, heartwarming smile. "Alright," she replied.
As they passed by a cinema, Lin Tingyue suggested, "How about this? To thank you for the surprise, Xia Wan, I’ll treat you to a movie."
Lin Tingyue gazed at Lin Xiawan with eyes curved in a smile—she had this natural charm that made it impossible to refuse.
Lin Xiawan gave in affectionately. "Alright."
She parked the car in the cinema’s lot. The moment they stepped out, Lin Tingyue took her hand, and the two walked inside together.
The place was packed that day, and they had to queue for tickets. While waiting in line, a woman suddenly stormed over, grabbed the hair of the woman in front of them, and tried to slap her—only to be dodged.
Failing to land the hit, the woman went off, "Wu Suyan, have you got no shame? How dare you watch a movie with my husband, you homewrecking bitch? Go to hell, you bitch!"
Wu Suyan looked at her calmly. "You finished?"
"You’re asking me that?"
He Fang was seething. "Who do you think you are talking to me like that? *You* were the one who said you’d given up on my husband, that you’d back off. What’s this shit now? Two-faced backstabber? Wu Suyan, I’m not putting up with this!"
"Quit causing a scene. Ziming agreed to watch the movie with me himself."
"I don’t care! This is all your damn fault for ruining our family!!!"
He Fang went at her again.
Onlookers: "WTF?"
"What the hell’s going on?"
"It seems like the mistress got busted by the wife while watching a movie with someone."
"My god, caught in the act! How does the mistress even show her face?"
"Of course she's shameless—because the one getting yelled at is actually the wife."
Huh???
Everyone couldn't help but glance again at the two women. If the one being scolded was the real wife, how could the woman throwing hands have the nerve to accuse someone of tearing apart their family?
Do side chicks really got this much nerve now?
He Fang thought her first attempt was just a fluke, but when she tried to slap Wu Suyan again, she found her wrist firmly gripped and her strike blocked.
"Wu Suyan, you—"
Out of the corner of her eye, He Fang saw Tong Ziming approaching. She seized the moment, dramatically collapsing to the ground as Wu Suyan pulled her down, fake tears springing up as she cried, "Husband, look—she hit me!"
To her shock, Tong Ziming didn’t comfort her—he couldn’t even be bothered to lift a finger to help her up.
Had Tong Ziming caught feelings for Wu Suyan again?
Biting her lip, He Fang snapped, "Real nice, Tong Ziming! So if you don’t want me, are you ditching our kid too?"
Tong Ziming was practically ready to drop to his knees and beg He Fang to shut up.
When Tong Ziming still didn’t budge, He Fang launched into a full-on meltdown, rolling around on the floor making a spectacle of herself. Wu Suyan watched coldly the whole time. Finally, Tong Ziming had no choice but to come over and pull He Fang to her feet.
But the second she stood up, he made it clear he wanted nothing to do with her.
He Fang: "?"
"Tong Ziming, you—"
He Fang put on a full-blown soap opera performance, shouting, "Look everyone! The CEO of Fuan Group is ditching his family!"
At that, Wu Suyan finally reacted. "I haven't even divorced him yet—you're nothing but the side piece."
"You—Wu Suyan, I knew you were faking it! You still love Tong Ziming!"
"Sorry, but only you would treat such garbage like it’s worth keeping."
Wu Suyan waved at someone in the corner, who rushed over immediately. "Upperclassman, don't worry—I caught the whole thing on camera. This evidence will nail them."
She looked downright smug. Tong Ziming gritted his teeth. "Wu Suyan, what exactly are you saying? Have you been playing me from the start?"
"If I hadn’t set this trap, how would you two pieces of work ever expose yourselves? Tong Ziming, get a good look at yourself in the mirror. You think you deserve to watch a movie with me?"
The person filming cheered excitedly, "Ahhhh, upperclassman, you're so cool!"
They were basically fangirling all over Wu Suyan.
Wu Suyan looped arms with her underclassman and turned to leave. "Tong Ziming, congratulations—you’re getting cleaned out in the divorce."
Mic drop.
After they left, someone muttered, "Cold-blooded move by the wife, setting up her own husband like that."
"Yeah right. Putting up with his nasty cheating every day, while he stashes his side pieces so well there's no proof. Even though *he’s* the one who messed up, he still gets to walk away with half her stuff? Who wouldn’t go hard in that situation?"
The woman beside him snapped, "Zip it."
He Fang only then realized she'd made a massive screw-up. "Babe, I..."
Tong Ziming shot He Fang a deadly glare. She muttered under her breath, "I was thinking about our child too. Our kid can't be left with nothing, right?"
"If the child isn't Tong Ziming's, gotta plan ahead, huh?"
Yikes.
Looks like Tong Ziming wasn't completely empty-handed—he at least got himself a green hat (Chinese symbol for cuckoldry).
When Lin Tingyue and Lin Xiawan returned home, they found their second brother was back again.
Lin Chengyan had just greeted Lin Xiawan and was about to say hello to Lin Tingyue when he noticed her staring at her phone. He snapped, "Lin Tingyue, what are you doing?"
"I'm seeing whether Cheng Jinshuang is back from her business trip yet."
Lin Chengyan — "..."
"Any interesting stories? Tell your second brother about them," he asked.
This had practically become their nightly ritual—sharing the juiciest family gossip that others hadn't heard yet.
Sure enough, today's story was just as wild as always.
Bai Yaxin remarked, "People really shouldn't do bad things."
"Mom, what's wrong? Why the sudden comment?"
Seeing everyone staring at her, Bai Yaxin said, "One of my classmates was caught having an affair."
Lin Tingyue immediately looked it up.
"Wait—the other woman was her son's classmate's mom???"
