Chapter 3: Chapter Three You Little Death Warrior Are So Unreasonable
byChapter 3: You Little Assassin Are So Unreasonable
Wei San had a long dream, in which he was locked in passion with a man whose face he couldn't see, doing all sorts of shameless things and spouting nonsense.
The level of wantonness was even worse than that of a brothel prostitute.
He woke up groggily, and as he recalled the scenes from the dream, his earlobes burned crimson.
So, the version of himself in the dream was actually so...
He was too ashamed to put it into words. Raising his hand to cover his eyes, he realized that his skin, usually pale and translucent from years without sunlight, was now covered with passion marks.
His muscles stiffened all over. The soreness, fatigue, and the undeniable discomfort finally made him realize, belatedly, that last night was not a dream at all.
He had been exploited and completely devoured!
And that scoundrel was brazenly lying right beside him.
Wei San’s eyes glared with murderous rage. Instinctively, he reached for the hidden weapons on his body, only to find himself still stark naked—his weapons had long been removed along with his clothes.
Just as he was about to quietly rise and twist the culprit’s head off, a large, sturdy hand firmly grasped his wrist.
Wei San’s heart sank, and he kicked toward the other’s waist. But Wei Zheng was prepared. With his other hand gripping Wei San’s waist and a long leg pinning down Wei San’s legs, he restrained him completely.
Wei San struggled fiercely, landing several punches on Wei Zheng, all of which Wei Zheng narrowly dodged.
Their skin pressed together as they tussled, and with the commotion of the fight, they rolled off the bed, still tangled in the quilt.
Wei San was already sore all over, and even with the quilt cushioning the fall, it was still a painful jolt. Seizing the opportunity, Wei Zheng firmly gripped his wrists, gave a light tug, and pinned his hands behind his back, then bent a leg to press down on Wei San’s back.
"So lively right after waking up? It seems I... didn't work hard enough last night."
Wei Zheng, panting heavily, almost slipped up but quickly corrected himself.
Wei San turned his head and glared fiercely, about to curse, but then he clearly saw the scoundrel’s face.
Wei Liu?!
Wei San was utterly shocked but immediately dismissed the thought. The dull and straightforward Wei Liu would never look at him with such frivolous and rakish eyes.
"Who are you really?"
Why are you wearing Wei Liu’s human skin mask?
Wei San had many suspicions. He knew all the assassins, and none were as despicable as the man before him.
Could he be from the covert guard camp?
Wei Zheng didn’t answer directly. Instead, he curled his lips into a teasing smile and said, "You little assassin are so unreasonable. If it weren’t for me helping you last night, you would have been tormented to death by that aphrodisiac poison. Not only are you ungrateful for saving your life, but you even want to harm your benefactor. How cruel!"
While spouting these flirtatious words, his appreciative gaze fell on the young man’s beautiful shoulder blades beneath him.
Assassins, who hid in the shadows without sunlight, had skin so pale it was almost translucent. Now, however, it was tinged with a light layer of bruise-like marks, densely covered with the traces he had left the previous night. If his hands weren’t busy restraining this unruly little wildcat, he might not have been able to resist touching them.
"Taking advantage of someone’s weakness, you scoundrel! Shameless!"
Wei San’s muscles tensed with rage. He was skilled at killing but clumsy with words. After thinking for a long time, he could only manage this feeble insult.
Wei Zheng gave a low chuckle. He had expected worse curses, but this was just like a kitten scratching—utterly adorable.
He leaned down, pressing his entire body against Wei San, and stole a kiss on his cheek. "I can be even more shameless. Want to try again?"
Both of them recalled the madness of the previous night simultaneously. Wei San was so humiliated and furious he wished he could kill Wei Zheng on the spot.
Wei Zheng, however, pressed his tongue against his canine tooth, once again feeling the urge to ravish him completely.
Pressed so closely together, even the slightest change in their bodies was palpable. Wei San felt as if struck by lightning, overwhelmed by a sense of immense humiliation. Gnashing his teeth, he snarled, "You’d better not give me the chance, or I’ll grind your bones to dust!"
Wei Zheng’s desire to conquer was ignited. He lifted the assassin’s chin, forcing him to raise his head and submit to his kisses.
Being taken advantage of again and again, Wei San’s eyes reddened with rage.
Though his gaze was fierce, the misty dampness made it seem as if he was seductively pleading for more.
Wei Zheng trembled with desire under that gaze, his lust deepening like an unfillable abyss.
Just then, the crowing of a rooster outside shattered the moment. The sky beyond the window was already faintly light. If he didn’t leave now, he risked being discovered.
Wei Zheng clicked his tongue in regret. The prize at his lips had to be relinquished.
He wrapped the unruly assassin in the quilt like a cocoon and, under the other’s murderous glare, scooped him up and carried him back to the bed.
He thought to himself, since he’d already played the scoundrel, wouldn’t it be a loss not to get his fill? So, he kissed the assassin’s red, swollen, and bruised lips again and laughed, "Sweetheart, I can’t play with you any longer this time. I’ll come find you again when I have the chance."
Though he said he would come again, Wei Zheng didn’t really mean it. Wei San didn’t take it seriously either, as both knew that if they met again, Wei San would undoubtedly attack him with swords drawn.
Wei Zheng left without a trace of attachment, leaving Wei San to struggle for a while before freeing himself from the quilt.
Barefoot, he stepped off the bed. Having just fought with Wei Zheng, his soreness and fatigue were even worse. His legs felt as soft as cotton, and if he hadn’t quickly steadied himself by holding onto the bedpost, he might have collapsed to the floor.
Wei San hated the scoundrel who had reduced him to this state with every fiber of his being. He quickly threw on an outer robe to cover his bruised body. As he was about to leave, feeling the sticky wetness between his legs, he finally couldn’t hold back a curse: "Son of a bitch! Don’t let me catch you!"
.
Wei San went to the back mountain, scrubbing himself inside and out several times until his skin stung with a burning pain. Then, he stealthily returned to his quarters with his bathing basin.
As soon as he closed the door, he met a pair of teasing eyes.
"Third Brother, you didn’t come back all night. Where did you go to have fun?"
Wei Jiu sat cross-legged, smiling leisurely.
Assassins shared quarters in pairs, and as roommates, Wei Jiu knew perfectly well whether Wei San had returned last night.
Wei San felt guilty but pretended nothing was wrong. He calmly walked past Wei Jiu and said, "Adult matters are none of a child’s business."
Wei Jiu had just turned sixteen two months ago and hadn’t yet come of age, so calling him a child wasn’t wrong at all.
Wei Jiu, who hated being treated like a child, snorted in frustration. Seeing that Wei San ignored him and went into the room, he muttered "So boring" and left.
Listening to the sound of Wei Jiu’s fading footsteps, Wei San slowly let out a sigh of relief.
Placing the bathing basin on the rack, he threw himself onto the bed, wrapped himself in the quilt, and rolled to the innermost side.
Having had no real rest for two consecutive days, no matter how many troubles he faced, he needed to recuperate first.
Once he had recovered, he would turn the world upside down if necessary to find that covert guard and tear him to pieces!
Wei San gritted his teeth, swore vengeance, and fell asleep.
Wei Zheng slipped into the room through the window before the maids were up. Wei Liu, who hadn't dared to sleep all night, immediately bolted upright.
Wei Liu dropped to his knees with a thud before Wei Zheng. "Master, you've finally returned."
Having used his master's bed for the night, Wei Liu felt as though he had shortened his lifespan by several years. Now that Wei Zheng had returned, he instantly revived.
Wei Zheng waved his hand dismissively, signaling him to rise, and asked as he removed his black outfit, "No one suspected anything last night, did they?"
Wei Liu shook his head. "I feigned sleep early on. The court lady and the maids left without suspecting anything."
Satisfied, Wei Zheng nodded, peeled off the flesh-like mask, and handed the black outfit back to Wei Liu. "Good work. You’ve earned your rest. You may go and rest now."
"Yes."
He swiftly changed into the black outfit and slipped out through the window.
Wei Liu had just left when the sound of approaching maids could be heard from a distance.
Before long, the court lady knocked on the door. "Your Highness, it is time to rise."
"Enter."
Wei Zheng stood by the bed, adjusting his collar to pretend he’d just gotten up. The maids streamed in, attending to him as he rinsed his mouth, washed his hands, and changed clothes.
The leading court lady stood to the side, smiling faintly. "Your Highness is rising earlier than usual today."
Her words seemed playful, but sounded more like probing.
"I slept early last night and simply couldn't sleep any longer this morning," Wei Zheng brushed it off casually. To make it more convincing, he even flipped the script.
He said, "Aunt Mei, you arrived a quarter-hour later than usual today. I had been awake counting for quite some time before any of you showed up. Have I been too lenient with you all, allowing you to get lazy?"
"My apologies, Your Highness, for keeping you waiting." The court lady apologized with a smile, though it was unclear whether she believed him or not.
After breakfast, Wei Zheng prepared to head to the royal study to read, as was his routine.
Though he was known to the outside world as a fool, everyone was aware of this fool's love for books—though not the Four Books and Five Classics, but rather the ridiculous outlandish storybooks.
Because of this hobby, the emperor had often scolded him for being "all style, no substance," never applying himself properly.
Wei Zheng led his whole entourage of maids toward the study but was intercepted halfway.
"Your Highness, wait!"
The steward of the manor rushed in from outside the estate, gasping for breath. As soon as he saw Wei Zheng, he called out loudly to stop him.
Hearing this, Wei Zheng halted and tilted his head in confusion. "Uncle Li, what is the matter that you're in such a hurry?"
Steward Li Dan was originally a eunuch who served Noble Consort Xu. After Noble Consort Xu's death, he had followed Wei Zheng, who addressed him respectfully as Uncle Li.
Li Dan caught his breath before explaining slowly, "The Grand Tutor is here to see you outside the estate, Your Highness. What are your instructions...?"
The Grand Tutor?
Wei Zheng pursed his lips. One of the Crown Prince’s men—what business could he have with a fool? Surely he wasn't here to check on his studies?
Though the other party was clearly up to no good, Wei Zheng could not refuse to see him.
"The Grand Tutor is here to see me?" He put on a show of being flattered, then abruptly changed his expression and scolded, "Why haven't you welcomed him in and attended to him? Leaving him outside the gates, the Grand Tutor will surely think I do not welcome his visit!"
Li Dan hurriedly agreed, "This servant will go at once to invite him in."
But Wei Zheng impatiently waved him off, leaving behind the words, "Enough, enough. I will go personally to receive him."
Li Dan and the court lady watched him stride quickly into the distance before snapping to attention and rushing to catch up.
