Chapter 56 Wow Wow Saves the Day
byChapter 56: Wowow’s Great Achievement
This incident left Su Yuecheng emotionally drained.
Xiao Moli considerately held her mother’s hand and said in a soft voice, "Mom, let’s take a nap, okay?"
Su Yuecheng smiled, gently stroked Xiao Moli’s hair, and replied softly, "Okay."
On the cozy little bed, Su Yuecheng held Xiao Moli, and her breathing gradually evened out.
After a while, Xiao Moli got up from her sleeping mother’s embrace and tiptoed out of the room.
Compared to other children, Xiao Moli may seem quiet and shy, but she is actually a high-energy kid.
She doesn’t have the habit of napping.
Usually at home, after her mother naps, it’s Mommy who plays with her.
She gently closed the door and went to the studio to check on the results of her morning efforts.
An unfinished umbrella frame, which looked a bit shoddy.
But Xiao Moli was still incredibly satisfied with it—after all, she had made it herself.
After admiring her work, Xiao Moli gently pushed the door open. The big rat was no longer outside.
Reassured, she went out and wandered around the yard, playing by herself while waiting for Grandma to bring back the big, fat cat Wowow.
But instead of Wowow, she encountered the big rat.
As soon as Xiao Moli saw the big rat, the little one was seriously spooked and quickly ran back toward the house.
While she struggled with all her might to close the door, the big rat had already slipped inside.
It was a truly enormous rat.
Once inside, the rat twitched its nose as it sniffed around.
It slowly crept closer to Xiao Moli, who was trying to tiptoe away.
This terrified Xiao Moli, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
Her emotions unstable, Xiao Moli’s small, triangular ears—white at the front and brown at the back—appeared first, followed by her thick, fluffy tail with reddish-dark ring patterns.
The big rat took a step forward.
Xiao Moli instinctively stepped back but tripped over her own big tail and fell flat on her back.
She couldn’t help but let out a cry, tears streaming down her face.
Live-stream viewers were worried.
"Holy crap, goddamn rat, stay away from my daughter!"
"Ugh, why hasn’t the big fat cat arrived yet?"
"Is Xiao Moli about to transform into her true form?"
"What? Why would she transform?"
"Ah, Chengcheng mentioned in a previous show that Xiao Moli tends to revert to her true form when scared or startled to intimidate others."
"Ugh, is this rat trying to bite someone?"
"That won’t do. Xiao Moli is only five—even in her true form, she wouldn’t be much bigger."
Then, in everyone’s view, the sweet-faced little girl vanished.
In her place appeared a round-headed and chubby-faced, chubby little red panda.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!"
"This is the first time I’ve seen the little one’s true form—so adorable, ahhhhh!"
"A red panda! A round, fluffy red panda!"
"Alright, Chengcheng, I’m not joking this time—I’m really going to steal your baby!"
"No way, no way! Xiao Moli is mine."
The little one stood on her hind legs, raised her small paws, took a threatening step forward, and hissed at the big rat.
She looked fierce, but because of her young age, Xiao Moli was only slightly larger than the rat.
The big rat paused, indeed not daring to advance, and instead took a step back.
That step back sealed its fate.
Because behind it appeared an orange semi-truck of a cat.
"Quick, Wowow, catch it! I’ll give you extra treats tonight," Yang Xuanhe said as she rushed to Xiao Moli’s side, addressing Wowow.
The rat squeaked frantically, scrambling around in panic.
But Wowow leaped forward with a "whoosh," his paw that looked like a big bamboo shoot striking the rat’s head with loud thumps.
Just then, Su Yuecheng also came downstairs and scooped up Xiao Moli, now in her red panda form.
She kissed Xiao Moli’s furry little face, visibly relieved.
It turned out Su Yuecheng hadn’t been sleeping soundly. The loud noise from Xiao Moli closing the door while escaping the rat had woken her.
When Su Yuecheng opened her eyes and found Xiao Moli not in her arms, she was instantly wide awake and rushed downstairs to look for her.
As soon as she came down, she saw Xiao Moli in her true form.
Meanwhile, Wowow had already accomplished his mission—the big rat’s neck was firmly in his mouth.
The rat exuded an air of despair—or rather, it didn’t need to, because it was already dead.
Wowow, proud of his achievement, carried the dead rat outside and sat there, lifting his round little head proudly.
Yang Xuanhe opened a cat stick treat for Wowow. "You’re amazing, Wowow! You’re the best little orange cat in the world."
Seeing the big rat dead, Su Yuecheng sighed in relief and smiled gently. "Yes, what a capable cat."
Yang Xuanhe looked at Xiao Moli in Su Yuecheng’s arms and said, "Wowow took care of the rat. Xiao Su, why don’t you take the child upstairs to rest a bit more?"
"Alright. I’ll leave handling the cleanup to you," Su Yuecheng said, didn't argue. She picked up Xiao Moli’s clothes and took her back to the room.
Su Yuecheng placed Xiao Moli on the bed and turned off the room's camera.
Turning around, she saw the little red panda curl itself into a soft, fluffy ball beside her.
Su Yuecheng smiled and gently ruffled the child’s fur, saying, "Just like your mommy, so adorable."
After that, she hugged the fluffy little red panda and closed her eyes again.
Far away in another city, Jiang Xingqi let out a relieved sigh when she saw the big rat had been caught and canceled the order for the rodent trap she'd ordered.
Then, she tried to call her wife and daughter, but Su Yuecheng usually has her phone on silent during naps.
