Chapter 84 Yuan Hui, Time to Work.
byChapter 84: Yuan Hui, Let's Get to Work.
Lu Chenghe had spent the night sleeping on the sofa.
After Wen Yuchen woke up, he hauled Lu Chenghe off the couch.
After a night's sleep, Lu Chenghe's clothes were as wrinkled as a dried prune.
Wen Yuchen tugged at his clothes, scrutinizing them. "Why didn't you go back to your own bed? Look at these clothes—go change quickly."
He pushed Lu Chenghe towards the door.
Still groggy, Lu Chenghe asked blankly, "Are we going now? What about you and Zheng Zheng? Aren't you going to eat?"
Wen Yuchen "tsk"-ed. "Why are you still thinking about food? Zheng Zheng is going to her grandmother's. If we don't go early, the civil affairs bureau will be packed soon."
As Lu Chenghe pushed the door open, Wen Yuchen added, "Bring me a set of clothes. For the marriage certificate photo, it's a white shirt, right? I don't have one here."
Today was the day for their marriage certificate photo.
Lu Chenghe returned to his room and, like a peacock displaying its feathers, took a meticulous shower, shaved, applied cologne, and styled his hair into a handsome look.
After grooming himself, Lu Chenghe grabbed a brand-new set of clothes and headed over.
He placed the neatly folded clothes on the bed and said to Wen Yuchen, "I brought the clothes. They're new. See if they fit. If not, I'll get you another set."
"New? I'll only wear them once," Wen Yuchen grumbled, then, in front of Lu Chenghe, he pulled off his pullover pajamas, revealing his toned upper body.
Seeing Wen Yuchen change so unreservedly in front of him, Lu Chenghe stole a couple of glances before turning away, his face flushed.
Feeling flustered and shy, Lu Chenghe waited for Wen Yuchen to finish changing.
Busy with his clothes, Wen Yuchen didn't notice Lu Chenghe's expression. He adjusted his waistband and asked, "How does this look?" Then he looked up, curiously adding, "Why are you blushing? Hurry up and check."
"Oh, oh, okay, I'll... I'll check." Stammering, Lu Chenghe reached out to help Wen Yuchen adjust his clothes.
"You even put on cologne."
"Ah, just a little."
"It smells nice."
"I... I brought some. Do you want to spray some?"
"...No need."
The two of them got themselves ready.
Wen Yuchen directed Lu Chenghe to pack an outfit and a bottle for Zheng Zheng, along with her small blanket, then picked up the soundly sleeping baby.
Lu Chenghe drove, while Wen Yuchen held Zheng Zheng in the back seat.
When they arrived at Jiang Yun and Wen Guosheng's home, a sleepy-eyed and scruffy Wen Guosheng opened the door.
Without a word, Wen Yuchen handed Zheng Zheng over and left.
"Hey, hey, hey! Where are you rushing off to?" Wen Guosheng handed Zheng Zheng to Jiang Yun with one hand and called out to his son.
"Getting married."
"Oh. Wait, what?!" Wen Guosheng's eyes widened.
But Wen Yuchen had already pulled Lu Chenghe out of sight.
Jiang Yun returned to the bedroom, placed Zheng Zheng on the bed, then went out and playfully swatted Wen Guosheng, chiding, "What are you shouting about so early in the morning?"
Wen Guosheng said incredulously to Jiang Yun, "Your son is going to get married."
Jiang Yun, however, was unfazed. "Don't make such a fuss. Did your son consult you last time he got married? Did he consult you when he got pregnant? Did he consult you during that quick divorce? Let me tell you, this is called 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.' He takes after you."
"H-how... how is it taking after me?" Wen Guosheng followed Jiang Yun.
They sped to the civil affairs bureau and were the first ones there.
When taking the photo:
Staff: "Closer, closer. Smile. Gentlemen, could you smile like you're actually alive?"
Lu Chenghe rubbed his stiff face.
Wen Yuchen pinched his cheeks. "Sorry, we're a bit nervous."
Lu Chenghe wasn't nervous; he was as happy as if he'd eaten honey.
Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people getting marriage licenses, and most had brought their own photos. The staff weren't busy, and this particular staff member was kind enough to take their time with them.
After much adjusting, Wen Yuchen, to save time, resigned himself. "Just take it as is." Just as he was about to give up, he asked, "If it doesn't look good, can we change it later?"
Staff: "......"
Lu Chenghe glanced at Wen Yuchen a few times, then reached out and pinched the soft flesh at Wen Yuchen's waist.
Wen Yuchen was ticklish there and couldn't help laughing. He turned to Lu Chenghe. "What are you doing?"
Lu Chenghe kept his head still and casually wrapped an arm around Wen Yuchen's waist.
"Look at me," the staff member called out.
Wen Yuchen turned his head at the sound.
"Alright, wait here. We'll call you when it's ready."
Wen Yuchen slapped the hand at his waist. "Let go."
Lu Chenghe beamed and released his hand.
They found a quiet corner to sit.
Wen Yuchen pulled out his phone and showed Lu Chenghe the paparazzi shots.
Among them were several photos of Wen Yuchen and Lu Chenghe talking downstairs or near the car.
Wen Yuchen pointed to the photos and asked Lu Chenghe, "Look, is that you?"
Lu Chenghe nodded, "Yes."
Wen Yuchen looked earnestly into Lu Chenghe's eyes and asked, "What kind of person are you?"
What did that mean?
Lu Chenghe tentatively replied, "I'm... a living person."
Wen Yuchen rolled his eyes at him and said, "You're a civilian. How dare he take pictures of you without your consent?"
Lu Chenghe's mind suddenly clicked. "You're right! How dare he photograph me! This is a violation of my right to privacy and reputation. Don't worry, Chenchen, I've already arranged for my secretary to handle this matter. He must face legal consequences."
The ones responsible for resolving this issue were Yuan Hui and Zhou Wenqing.
Yuan Hui, a finance major, wasn't very familiar with deeper legal provisions.
He showed his phone to Zhou Wenqing and said, "Zhou Wenqing, look. I searched—it's infringement, but not illegal."
Zhou Wenqing tossed his hair dismissively, ignoring him, and muttered, "You've been with Chairman Lu longer than I have, how can you be so naive! Also, when is our group's legal team coming back from their training?"
Yuan Hui: "Their plane landed. They'll be here soon."
Zhou Wenqing: "Hey, perfect timing. Yuan, tell them to come straight to the top-floor conference room. No one knows this area better than them."
Yuan Hui: "Got it. Take your time reviewing, no rush."
Zhou Wenqing rapidly flipped through the thick stack of documents, his brows tightly furrowed. "Right to privacy: Secret photography violates an individual’s right to privacy, including peace in private life, private spaces (such as residences, bathrooms, etc.), private activities (like bathing, changing clothes), and private body parts. According to Article 1033 of the Civil Code, photographing someone’s private parts or spying on private activities without permission is illegal. Look, look—in these photos, there’s Brother Wen’s residence, Chairman Lu’s place near Brother Wen’s, and even shots of Chairman Lu and Brother Wen’s previous new home. That’s clearly a private space."
Yuan Hui listened with a confused expression. "Right, that’s private property. So it’s a private space!"
Seeing his reaction, Zhou Wenqing knew most of what he'd said didn't stick.
Yuan Hui awkwardly rubbed his nose and shared the information he'd gathered with Zhou Wenqing: "But I've heard this paparazzo is really tough to deal with. It's not like no one has sued him before, but no one's succeeded."
"Hmph, that's because those people didn't hire strong enough lawyers." The conference room door swung open, and a man in a well-tailored suit led seven or eight people inside.
This was Mu Gaoyu, the head of the legal team at Lu Corporation.
