Chapter 31: Steward Song is My Person
byChapter 31: Steward Song is My Man
Not to mention half an hour, even ten minutes would be enough for him to choose.
Song Jiang really wanted to laugh out loud, barely containing his excitement.
Heart racing, hands shaking.
He was finally getting clothes from a big brand!
While Song Jiang was crazily picking everything, buying it all,
he didn't realize a face was pressed against the glass door of the clothing store, watching him for a long time.
"It's you!"
"You stinky steward!"
"..."
Song Jiang followed the voice and looked over.
Oh, it was our ditzy Miss Tian Tian.
But why was Tian Tian yelling at him like that? He didn't smell great, sure, but he bathed every day—he wasn't stinky either.
Song Jiang put down the clothes in his hands, forced a smile, and greeted her, "Miss Tian, what a coincidence."
Tian Tian rushed in without a care for her image, as if she had some huge grievance.
"Coincidence my foot! Steward Song, you're so awful!"
"Aren't we supposed to be allies? That ugly woman Ye Qingqing went to Brother Zhichen's house, and you didn't tell me!" Tian Tian pointed at Song Jiang.
"And the worst part is, I've never even been there!"
"Steward Song, I don't care, you have to help me! I want to go to Brother Zhichen's house too!"
Tian Tian's voice was really something—now her Brother Zhichen must have heard her too, making it even harder for her to ever get to visit Mr. Fu's house.
Poor kid.
"Miss Tian, I can't help you with this. That's Mr. Fu's home. I can't decide who can go and who can't."
Tian Tian, don't blame him for saying this. He wanted to help her too, but Mr. Fu was right behind her now.
Fu Zhichen spoke up as expected, "Miss Tian, it's not a steward's place to decide who comes to my home."
Tian Tian turned around, her arrogant attitude instantly weakening.
"Brother Zhichen, why are you here too?" She had been standing with her hands on her hips, but now she was twirling her fingers together, acting all shy and coy.
"What's it to you? It's not like this is a Tian Group property, is it? Me being here has nothing to do with you."
Tian Tian's voice got even more syrupy.
"Brother Zhichen, I didn't mean that. I just didn't expect you to come to a clothing store to buy clothes."
Fu Zhichen slowly turned his gaze to Song Jiang.
They locked eyes for a few seconds.
Song Jiang finally caught on to Mr. Fu's meaning.
A man worth billions visiting a clothing store to buy clothes? That would be below him.
Unlike him—only a hick like him would come to a clothing store.
"Miss Tian, it's me buying clothes."
"Steward Song, you're buying?" Tian Tian looked him up and down with an expression that said, "Can a broke guy like you afford clothes here?"
"Miss Tian, what's wrong with me buying clothes? It's not like I'm using your money."
Hmph, he was using Mr. Fu's money. You don't get that treatment, Tian Tian.
Song Jiang felt a little thrill of satisfaction.
As always, Tian Tian spoke her mind directly.
"Steward Song, can you even afford them?"
Song Jiang smiled. "That's not something Miss Tian needs to worry about."
He had Mr. Fu's black card!
Ha, didn't see that coming, did you? Mr. Fu's black card was in his hand!
At this moment, Song Jiang realized how great it was to be Mr. Fu's steward—things like holding Mr. Fu's bag—that was his job!
Fu Zhichen tilted his head and said in a casual tone, "Waitress, have you forgotten my shopping rules?"
The waitress and the head waiter, who had been enjoying the drama, immediately changed their expressions upon hearing Mr. Fu's words, bowing apologetically.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fu, that was our oversight."
The waitress gestured for Tian Tian to leave. "Miss, please leave. Our VIP has booked the entire store today."
Tian Tian refused to leave. "Are you talking about him?" She pointed arrogantly at Song Jiang. "He's just a mere steward! Since when is he a VIP?"
"Don't you know who I am? I'm the only daughter of the Tian Group's chairman!"
"Do you know what happens when you offend me?"
"Be careful, or I'll make sure you never work here again!"
Same old threats. Tian Tian never improved her game.
Hearing this, the head waiter realized Tian Tian came from money too.
He couldn't afford to offend her, so he looked helplessly at Fu Zhichen.
Fu Zhichen propped his chin on his hand, perhaps feeling subtly insulted by Tian Tian's words, and said nonchalantly, "Miss Tian, Steward Song is my man."
"Looking down on him is like looking down on me."
"Do you know what happens when you offend me?"
"The Tian Group." Fu Zhichen chuckled softly and spoke slowly, "Is it really that big a deal?" He said this with a natural arrogance, as if crushing the Tian Group was as easy as squashing an ant.
This blatant favoritism and protection would make anyone's head spin.
"You... you two!"
Tian Tian looked at them with an expression that screamed, "You two damn men are ganging up on me!"
Her face was full of grievance.
"Brother Zhichen, you know that's not what I meant!" Tian Tian, seeing she couldn't win the argument, covered her face with her hands. "I'm really hurting."
A woman's tears, cry, cry, cry – no crime~
Song Jiang was gloating on the sidelines.
The waitress: "Miss Tian, please leave."
Song Jiang thoughtfully handed her a pack of tissues—the one he'd used after his bowel movement and still had some left.
It shouldn't smell, right?
Song Jiang patted Tian Tian on the back and said softly, "Miss Tian, don't cry."
He was still counting on Tian Tian to get together with the CEO so he could get his six million; he couldn't let them quarrel and become enemies because of him.
"Mr. Fu didn't mean to yell at you or misunderstand you; he's just like this usually."
Still wearing a sour face.
Tian Tian looked at him with teary eyes. "Steward Song, really? Can I still trust you?"
If she doesn't trust him, who can she trust? In this book, besides him working tirelessly to help her, no one else gives a damn about her.
And Tian Tian really could cry on command; he thought she was just playing the innocent little flower.
Song Jiang glanced around and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Miss Tian, I'll continue to help you. I'll figure everything out."
Tian Tian sniffled and took the tissue from Song Jiang. "Okay, Steward Song, thank you. I won't talk about you like that anymore."
It's okay, it's okay. He forgives Tian Tian. His heart's just that big. Mom always said that admitting mistakes and correcting them makes a good person.
With just a few words, Song Jiang coaxed Tian Tian. She composed herself and changed the subject: "Brother Zhichen, my birthday party is coming up. I sincerely invite you and Steward Song. You must come."
"Steward Song, from now on, you're my best friend!"
This silly girl—her emotions come and go so quickly.
Before Song Jiang and Fu Zhichen could answer, Tian Tian looked at Song Jiang again and said, "Steward Song, that outfit really suits you. You look so hot I'm swooning!"
Song Jiang was just looking for someone's opinion, so he was about to have a nice chat with Tian Tian about it.
But the man sitting in the wheelchair exuded a chill that dropped the temperature of the entire clothing store by a few degrees.
Luckily, the waitress had a good sense of the situation and insisted on repeating, "Miss Tian, please leave."
Tian Tian knew she couldn't upset her Brother Zhichen any further, so she reluctantly left.
Song Jiang figured the CEO's nice-guy card had expired, as he seemed extremely impatient.
"Waitress, except for that one," Fu Zhichen pointed disdainfully, "get him one of everything else in his size."
Uh... he pointed at the very outfit Tian Tian had said made him look handsome.
Well, well, well, the CEO just can't stand him being better-looking than him, can he?
What a shady dude!
