Chapter 18: Seduced by This Scheming Man Again

Guan Yujia didn't just lose—he embarrassed himself.

After walking out of the corridor, he ducked behind a camera and fell silent. Several staff members surrounded him to comfort him, but he stayed quiet the whole time.

He was scared of looking stupid, but even more scared of looking stupid in front of Chen Wang.

When he was young, he thought no matter what he did, Chen Wang would never leave him. After all, his father had saved Chen Wang's life, and his Uncle Chen had always liked him.

He thought he and Chen Wang were destined to be together forever.

But he never expected Chen Wang's patience with him to be so limited. He just had him help clean up a few messes, and Chen Wang grew impatient, avoiding him at every turn.

He wouldn't give up, and he couldn't let Chen Wang go, so he started changing himself—his looks, his way of talking—trying to become more of what Chen Wang liked.

Chen Wang had said he didn't like him causing trouble and cursing, so he started learning to be elegant.

But that one fart just now undid all his years of effort.

He quietly glanced back at Chen Wang, expecting him to look down on him or pity him.

To his surprise, Chen Wang didn't even look at him. He just leaned on Gu Sai, going over the challenge tips.

Guan Yujia glared at Gu Sai hatefully, grinding his teeth.

While Lan Miaomiao was doing her challenge, Gu Sai quietly had a chat with his legs: "Legs, can you guys step it up and run faster? I want to get the silver coin."

His legs answered, "Sure, but you gotta lift us up high."

Gu Sai said, "No problem, I'll definitely find a chance to lift you today."

His legs added, "One more thing—you need to let Right Hand touch Chen Wang's chest again."

    Gu Sai: ???

Right Hand said, all shy, "Master, can I? I'm trying to win it over, and I really need a chance to get up close and personal with it. You wouldn't say no to me, right?"

Gu Sai was totally speechless, but right then, to win that silver coin, he had no choice but to agree.

    "Fine, I'll... find a chance."

He just hoped Chen Wang wouldn't murder him.

Lan Miaomiao failed her challenge and got caught by the guy in black in the hallway.

But she wasn't bummed at all. Instead, she laughed and made fun of herself: "I knew it. My odds of winning this game are zero."

Gu Sai tried to cheer her up: "That's not true. Nothing in this world has a zero percent chance."

Lan Miaomiao said, "There is. In Chengdu, the odds are zero."

"Hey, why's Chengdu catching strays again? People's prejudices are like a mountain—hard to move."

"Then that mountain must be crooked."

Gu Sai was the last one up. Since he'd already made a deal with his legs beforehand, he ran way faster than usual. He pressed his lips together, gritted his teeth, and his little face was set with determination.

Gu Yunlang was a little taken aback. He never expected Gu Sai to run that fast. Back when they were kids going to school together, Gu Sai did everything at a snail's pace and couldn't run fast to save his life. Sometimes, when they were about to be late, he'd panic and just hoist Gu Sai onto his back and sprint to school.

Eventually, the school security guard started thinking Gu Sai was disabled.

Later on, he'd take Gu Sai running all the time, slowly building him up from slow to fast. But Gu Sai was a total klutz—he'd wipe out every time he tried to go any faster.

    "Bang!"

Right as he was thinking that, Gu Sai took another spill.

That sounded like a nasty fall, but it landed him right in the safe zone.

"I did it! I got it!"

Gu Sai didn't even bother getting up. He just held up the silver coin and cheered.

Chen Wang and Lan Miaomiao rushed over right away to help him up.

    "You okay?" Lan Miaomiao asked.

Gu Sai was still happy about winning: "I'm fine, I'm fine."

Chen Wang said, his voice flat, "How are you fine? Your arm's all scraped up."

Gu Sai held up his arm and only then noticed a little scrape from the stone floor.

    "I'm fine, I'm fine. It doesn't hurt."

Gu Sai acted like he couldn't feel a thing.

Chen Wang grabbed his wrist right away and pulled him over to the medical station.

This was a challenge show, so guests getting banged up during filming was nothing new. There was always a pro medical team on standby during every shoot.

"Boo-hoo, baby, even if you're not hurting, I'm hurting for you."

"So, are Chen Wang and Gu Sai close? Why's he look so worried about him?"

"They just shot a drama together, and my Bro Wang's just a good guy. It's only natural he'd look out for his coworkers."

"But Guan Yujia was about to have a meltdown over that loud fart, and Chen Wang didn't even go comfort him."

"Forget it, I'm hopping on this ship!"

As the doctor put medicine on Gu Sai's scrape, he said, "This might sting a little. Just bear with me."

Gu Sai said, "It's fine, doc. I'm not scared of pain."

The doctor nodded in approval, then glanced over at Gu Yunlang nearby. He still remembered the last time he'd treated Gu Yunlang—that guy squealed like a pig at a slaughterhouse, and it took three people to hold him still.

Chen Wang stayed close to Gu Sai and murmured, "If it hurts, just yell out. I won't make fun of you."

Gu Sai clutched the silver coin in his hand, looked up at him, and grinned. "It really doesn't hurt."

"So Gu Sai wasn't just talking when he said he could take pain."

"I think Gu Sai's like a rabbit—rabbits are crazy good at handling pain."

"Bro Wang's as tough as an eagle, and he's a perfect match for a rabbit!"

"Gu Yunlang's gotta be so jealous watching Gu Sai, right? Who'd have thought a big, muscular guy like him would be such a baby about pain? I still remember the last time he had to get his wounds treated..."

"Alright, enough about that—who doesn't have a few skeletons in their closet?!"

After the first challenge ended, only Lan Miaomiao and Guan Yujia came up empty-handed.

After a ten-minute break, Director Ma kept checking that Gu Sai was okay before they continued. Chen Wang asked Gu Sai if he could handle it and keep going. Gu Sai assured him he was perfectly fine—he had no intention of bailing halfway. He had to stick it out to the end for that house down payment.

Throughout the morning, they didn't get a second to rest—the crew had them playing one game after another.

    Tug-of-war, weightlifting, name-that-tune—you name it.

Except for Guan Yujia, who couldn't be bothered to join in much, everyone else found new ways to make each game hilarious, and the viewers were cracking up.

"No way—this show is so funny, I'm about to laugh my abs off!"

"Same here, I haven't even had time to run to the bathroom. My bladder's about to burst."

Finally, noon arrived, and the livestream was going to pause for three hours to give the guests some rest.

Lunch cost silver coins—one coin per meal. But since they'd all eaten a hearty breakfast, they decided to skip lunch today and save as much as they could.

Gu Sai sat in the rest area, counting out his silver coins one by one. Over the course of the morning, he'd won five coins—exactly the number needed to get to the second floor.

He asked Lan Miaomiao, "Hey Miaomiao, how many coins do you got? Wanna hit the second floor this afternoon?"

Lan Miaomiao replied, "I've got one less than you. How about this—you and Mr. Chen go to the second floor first this afternoon, and I'll catch up with you later."

    "Alright."

Just as Gu Sai was about to relax in the lounge chair, his leg suddenly piped up, "Lift me high."

    "Oh."

Gu Sai had no choice but to get up, find a railing, and fake a stretch by lifting his left leg high.

His right leg chimed in, "What about me, boss?"

His right hand added, "And me, boss—I wanna touch Chen Wang."

Gu Sai said, "Hold on, hold on, one at a time. I'll get to each of you."

Chen Wang watched Gu Sai, who had inexplicably gotten up to stretch, and got lost in thought.

Is he... trying to show me how flexible he is?

Those legs are slender and long, so straight—he could do a full split without breaking a sweat. If he folded them up, his knees could probably touch his shoulders.

Damn, I've fallen for this scheming guy's tricks again.
