byAt last, after a month, Wen Renlan arrived at this prison cell. Yet, as the father of Wen Renming, he showed no concern for his injuries. The first thing he said upon seeing Wen Renming was:
“I heard that despite the numerous tortures inflicted upon you, you refused to utter a word. Indeed, you should never have been born, you monster!”
Wen Renming, who had been silent all along, suddenly burst into laughter. It started as a chuckle and grew into a hearty laugh. Turning his head towards Wen Renlan, he whispered:
“I’ve been waiting for you. I want to know why you allowed my mother to give birth to me, only to treat me so poorly afterward. For twenty years, you’ve neglected me. I’ve eaten rotten food, worn tattered clothes, and lived in squalor. At Qingliu Sect, even the humblest servant dared to humiliate me. I don’t understand. I’m your flesh and blood. Why did you treat me this way?”
Only after hearing Wen Renming’s words did Wen Renlan finally look directly at him. But, seeing his bloodied form, he strangely couldn't meet Wen Renming's eyes.
He turned away, avoiding Wen Renming's lifeless gaze, and said with suppressed anger:
“You shouldn’t exist in this world. Your birth caused the death of your mother. Then, heavenly flames descended the moment you were brought out of the room. Even those flames couldn’t harm you. You are nothing but a curse. I should have killed you long ago, but you have my blood running in your veins. I didn’t want the reputation of a child killer. That's why I've kept you alive until now. But tell me, what sorcery did you use that day? How did you cause the deaths of so many disciples of our Qingliu Sect?”
Hearing this, Wen Renming just gave a wide smile but remained silent. Wen Renlan frowned and said:
“I wanted to spare your life, but seeing your stubborn and malevolent nature, don’t blame me for being ruthless now.”
With that, Wen Renlan summoned his energy and aimed a palm strike at Wen Renming. As the leader of the Qingliu Sect, his power was not to be underestimated. A regular man would surely die from such a blow.
Ying Zhao, out of reflex, stood in front of Wen Renming, prepared for the impact. However, instead of the expected onslaught, it was Wen Renlan who was violently thrown against the opposite wall.
Wen Renlan looked as if an invisible force was strangling him, lifting him off the ground. His eyes widened in horror as he looked at Wen Renming.
He struggled to grasp the invisible hands choking him but only clutched at thin air.
With a snap.
The chains binding Wen Renming shattered, and he collapsed to the ground. Slowly, he staggered to his feet.
Turning to face Wen Renlan, he said with a smirk:
“I’ve been waiting for you in this cell, and this is what I get. Truly, there’s no fatherly affection from you. You wanted to know the sorcery I used? It's the 'Qingyuan Jue' passed down through the Wen family for generations."
Despite being strangled, the shock on Wen Renlan’s face was evident. He rasped out in disbelief:
“No, it can’t be! That jade slip has been nothing but an ornament for years! How could there be any 'Qingyuan Jue'?”
Wen Renming, with a bitter smile, responded:
“There's no 'Qingyuan Jue'. What’s been in the ancestral hall all these years is the 'Mieyuan Jue'. It’s not some transcendence manual but a dark cultivation method for demonic cultivators. The reason the Wen family could never decipher this treasure is that you weren’t chosen by it. The only one chosen by the 'Mieyuan Jue' is someone without a shred of warmth or light in their heart.”
Wen Renming ignored the storm of emotions brewing within Wen Renlan's heart and staggeringly approached him.
"How ironic, isn't it? What you've longed for your entire life has been effortlessly acquired by the person you despise and loathe most. And all this is thanks to you!"
With every step, Wen Renming left a bloody footprint, a harrowing sight. As he walked, he continued addressing Wen Renlan:
"You say I carry your bloodline, yet I'd rather not have a drop of you in me. Throughout these days, I've endured countless wounds and shed oceans of blood. Consider this blood as a payback. And the suffering I've experienced all these years? I'll reclaim it from you."
Hearing this, Wen Renlan desperately wanted to shake his head, to plead for mercy. Yet, he couldn't utter a word. A moment later, he fully grasped the implications of Wen Renming's words.
Instantly, he felt every fiber of his being being forcefully torn apart, as if even his innards were crushed.
Wen Renlan's gaze locked onto Wen Renming, attempting to grasp the hem of his garment from afar. He opened his mouth as if to shout, only to spew out a mouthful of blood.
Thus, Ying Zhao watched in horror as Wen Renlan's bones were slowly crushed by some unknown method Wen Renming employed. In the end, Wen Renlan lay like a puddle of mud, eyes still wide open in death.
A tear of blood slid down Wen Renming's cheek. He stepped over Wen Renlan's body, covered in blood, and exited the torture chamber.
What followed was a bloodbath. Everywhere Wen Renming went, members of the Qing Liu Sect were slaughtered.
He didn't even have to lift a finger; his solidified consciousness alone shattered their minds one by one. Screams echoed, only to fade into eerie silence.
Eventually, the Qing Liu Sect's hall stood empty. Wen Renming slowly walked to the central seat, sitting silently like a lifeless puppet.
