    Chapter Index

The Federation's generals were astonished to see Cecil's group casually feasting on grilled meat made from a recently caught Star Beast.

After all, every unit here would first seek a concealed spot upon entering the forest. Yet this group was brazenly barbecuing in the open.

Watching the surprised federal officers nearby, Ying Zhao couldn't help but smirk, casually saying, "Students of our empire always know how to relax."

Hearing Ying Zhao's words, the Federation general's face twitched, and he merely nodded.

Yet, internally he ranted, "How can they be so relaxed in this prestigious competition representing their nation's honor? What on earth do these imperial students feed on?"

While Cecil's group was grilling the Star Beast, Harrison's team nonchalantly came into view. Sensing the approaching group, Cecil's side instantly became alert.

Seeing Cecil's team on guard, Harrison, with a relaxed face, smiled and said, "Don't be so tense; we're not here to fight."

    Chapter 131: Galactic Mermaids (25,26)

"Cecil, look, the Federation has joined this Mech Contest. We, from the empire, should unite. How about we team up like before? Let’s eliminate the Federation's team first and decide the rest later, what do you say?"

Upon hearing Harrison's words, Yan Lang smiled, but was inclined to refuse. While they had collaborated before, the current situation was not the same as last time.

Harrison's desire to secure the final victory was transparent. Given the unpredictable nature of the real primitive forest, Yan Lang doubted their genuine loyalty in critical moments.

Before anyone could anticipate, Cecil, who was standing beside, gave a nod of agreement to Harrison's request even before he spoke.

With a look of confusion, Yan Lang turned to Cecil. Moments later, a message from Cecil appeared on Yan Lang's holographic computer.

After reading the message, Yan Lang's expression briefly changed, but he quickly recovered, giving Harrison a casual smile and welcoming his team warmly.

Harrison's team settled themselves a short distance away. Mirroring Cecil's group, they hunted down a small celestial beast and began to grill it.

Whatever seasoning they used during the barbecue made the meat smell even more fragrant than the one Cecil's side had. Harrison took a piece, tasted it gracefully, and then praised it while looking at Cecil.

Noticing no response from the opposite team, Harrison's eyes sparkled as he said, "Since we've joined forces, why not share the game? Come, taste our grilled meat. No need for formalities."

Despite the tempting aroma, Du Lu and Du Ke hesitated, fearing Harrison might have ulterior motives, and firmly shook their heads.

Harrison could only spread his hands in a gesture of regret, portraying a wounded expression, as if his good intentions were being doubted.

Yan Lang was acutely aware that their every move was being broadcasted on the StarNet. Thus, Prince Harrison's actions made it seem as though they were ungrateful.

Although annoyed, Yan Lang didn't want to fall into any trap, so he refrained from the grilled meat. However, Cecil casually took some of Harrison's grilled meat, nodding to the others to do the same.

Concern flashed across Yan Lang's face, but a reassuring look from Cecil eased his worries. Trusting his captain's judgment, Yan Lang also began eating.

Seeing both Yan Lang and Cecil accept the food, Du Lu and Du Ke no longer hesitated. As for Andy, he remained engrossed in his damaged mech's buttons and components throughout.

Yan Lang would hand him food, and he'd eat without looking. Once engrossed, Andy's attention wouldn't deviate from his research until it was complete.

Surprisingly, despite his slight frame, Andy's eating pace and volume were astounding, equivalent to that of three or four people.

Prince Harrison noticed that while his team hadn't consumed much of the celestial beast meat, most of it quickly found its way into the opposing team's stomachs. Their blatant indulgence brought a smirk to his lips.

Internally, he was quite pleased, thinking, "Eat up, the more you consume now, the more you'll suffer later."

As they journeyed through the forest together, they soon encountered two teams. Both were swiftly dealt with by Cecil's group. Witnessing the rapid increase in Cecil's team's abilities, Harrison became more resolute in his plan to eliminate them.

By nightfall, both teams set up tents in a clearing. Once everyone settled, Cecil summoned them over.

He took out a small yellow jar from his pocket, placing it before them, and whispered, "Eat."

Yan Lang frowned upon seeing the sticky substance inside the jar. He recognized it as the product they had obtained when Cecil deliberately killed some poisonous bees and raided their hive.

This sticky substance, while sweet, also had detoxifying properties. However, due to the aggressive nature of the poisonous bees, it was hard to come by.

All of the substance had been gathered by Cecil. Since Yan Lang and others didn't participate, they didn't think of claiming any.

In fact, Cecil had procured it specifically for Ying Zhao as a treat. Given the current circumstances, it seemed they needed it more urgently.

Realizing its significance, Yan Lang spoke up to clear any confusion, "There was something off about the food from their side today. Consuming this will negate any effects."
