byHe lay directly on the hard stone ground, motionlessly gazing at Ying Zhao's sleeping face. As he watched Ying Zhao fall into a deep sleep, appearing to be very peaceful, Yan extended his finger to poke Ying Zhao's cheek gently.
The soft touch seemed to brighten Yan's mood, his usually taut lips curling up slightly. It wasn't long before he too closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep beside Ying Zhao.
Ying Zhao had no idea how long he had slept, but upon waking, he felt a significant improvement in his physical condition. Notably, his forehead no longer throbbed with pain.
It must be acknowledged that this recovery was largely due to the beastmen’s remarkable healing abilities. Otherwise, in worlds past, it would have been impossible to recover so quickly after being battered continuously in the river.
However, when he awoke and looked around, Yan was not in the cave. Ying Zhao rose, puzzled, and headed towards the cave's entrance.
But just as he reached the mouth of the cave, before he could take a step outside, he stumbled back in shock, falling to the ground. To his astonishment, the cave was suspended over a cliff, seemingly hanging in mid-air.
Observing the scenery below the cliff, the cave entrance was at least a hundred meters above the ground. Although not exceptionally high, a fall would surely result in a fatal crash.
He looked up further, the portion of the cliff above the cave stretched towering into the clouds. Beside the entrance, numerous sturdy vines, seemingly arranged by someone, hung down.
Although more than half of the Sky Horse tribe’s beastmen were born with wings, the original owner could only partially transform. Hence, Ying Zhao was uncertain about the exact nature of the original owner's beast form, and whether it possessed the ability to fly.
Therefore, he hurriedly retreated a few steps, moving away from the precarious ledge before lying down to peer outside from the safety of the cave's edge.
He wondered, how did Yan manage to leave this high cave to hunt outside? Shortly after, he recalled a race from the original owner's memory, which preferred to nest atop cliffs - the aggressive Wing Tribe.
Upon transformation, members of the Wing Tribe all had wings, with most resembling large falcons, much larger than those in the ordinary world.
Their wings were broad, capable of creating gusts of wind strong enough to be used as weapons with a single flap. Their beast forms boasted sharp beaks and claws, bearing some resemblance to the great Roc.
Ying Zhao suddenly realized that if the other party was his lover, logically, there should be various degrees of imperfections in each hour realm.
However, it was evident that the lover's human form seemed to have no issues at all. Therefore, if his human form had no problems, the issue likely resided in his beast form.
Considering the vines he saw just outside the cave, a fully functional Wing Tribe member with normal wings should be capable of flying, rendering the presence of those vines unnecessary.
Therefore, if Yan truly belonged to the Wing Tribe, he might, like the original owner, only be capable of partial transformation, or perhaps his beast form's wings were compromised.
As Ying Zhao pondered this, he let out a sigh. Regardless, as long as it was his man, it didn't matter where the issue lay.
Staring at the towering cliffs outside, Ying Zhao decided to retreat back into the cave and wait for Yan's return. Touching the dried medicinal paste on his forehead, he approached the stone basin inside the cave, intending to scoop up some water to wash his face.
However, as Ying Zhao leaned closer to the water's surface, catching a glimpse of the original owner's appearance, he froze. He was astounded to find that his appearance in this world resembled very closely to his true form when he transformed into a human.
Except now his skin was more fair, and all the hair on his body, including his eyebrows and eyelashes, were silvery-white. Even with a smear of green, unattractive medicinal paste on his head, his extraordinary features were unmistakable. Particularly, his silvery long hair and pointed ears gave Ying Zhao an elf-like allure.
Ying Zhao scooped up a handful of water to wash his face, and after rinsing off the green medicinal paste on his forehead, he noticed the wound had almost healed. Looking once again at his reflection in the water, Ying Zhao's cheeks flushed slightly.
After all, seeing a face identical to his own true form brought a different sentiment compared to using another person's appearance in other small worlds. Moreover, upon adopting a new appearance, Ying Zhao found himself quite handsome.
His curiosity about the original owner's beast form intensified, and he asked the voice in his mind, Xiao Bai, "Xiao Bai, do you know what the original owner looks like in his half-beast form?"
After a moment of thought, Xiao Bai replied, "Host, it's not easy for me to describe the specific appearance. But it seems that the original owner's half-beast form does bear some resemblance to your beast form, Host."
Upon hearing Xiao Bai's words, Ying Zhao blinked, and immediately thought of his own beast form. A smile touched his eyes, thinking that with his control over his beast form, there was nothing left to worry about.
As he was contemplating this, a rustling sound came from outside the cave. In no time, Ying Zhao saw Yan dragging some vines in through the cave entrance.
Yan paused when he saw Ying Zhao standing dumbstruck at the entrance of the cave, observing him. Yan approached Ying Zhao, examining the fully healed wound on his forehead, before gently pressing his hand against the most severely impacted area on Ying Zhao's waist, asking, "Does it still hurt?"
Ying Zhao shook his head at Yan's question, offering him a gentle smile as he said, "It doesn't hurt anymore, thank you for taking care of me."
Yan nodded, throwing the prey he had just caught onto the ground and began processing it with a stone dagger. Ying Zhao squatted beside Yan, continuing to question him:
"Yan, how come you reside on such a towering cliff? Are you a winged clan beastman?"
Yan turned his head to glance at Ying Zhao, nodding without denying his identity.
