byIs he truly willing to be with me? Has he genuinely fallen for me?
Yet, suddenly, doubt crept into Wen Renming's mind. He feared that all of this might just be an illusion, a figment conjured by the Realm of Heart Demons.
If it were merely a dream, so be it. But if it wasn't, and Yun Ping really entered his consciousness, then he would see the darkness within him, his most vulnerable self.
Confronted with such a version of him, even the most passionate love would wane, wouldn't it? Wen Renming gave a bitter smile, feeling a torrent of emotions.
Even though he had tasted hardships in the past, nothing compared to the torment he felt now. Feeling the warmth of the person next to him and breathing in his scent, Wen Renming deeply desired to become one with him...
With his head bowed, Wen Renming contemplated how to truly win over Ying Zhao. Once, he thought if he couldn't hold onto one's heart, holding onto the person was enough.
Now, Wen Renming was no longer satisfied with that. He wanted Ying Zhao wholly, both body and soul. That's why he meticulously planned and even brought everyone from Piaomiao Pavilion to this mystical realm.
Those who schemed against him would not be spared. But Yun Ping was different. He wanted to know Ying Zhao's true feelings. Yet, even if he were deceived, Wen Renming had no intention of letting him go.
He would chain Ying Zhao by his side forever, ensuring he could only face him, kiss him, and be with him.
Thinking back to the Realm of Heart Demons, Wen Renming recalled how Yun Ping, or rather Ying Zhao, confessed wanting to be intimate with him. The sight of his flushed face was something Wen Renming thought he'd never forget.
Indeed, my Yun Ping, even in an illusion, is devastatingly sweet!
Unable to contain himself, Wen Renming took a deep breath and pretended to stumble forward. As expected, Ying Zhao immediately turned and supported him, asking with concern:
"Wen Renming, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Wen Renming gave a seemingly feeble shake of his head, addressing Ying Zhao:
"Yun Ping, I'm alright. I just feel a bit drained."
Ying Zhao pondered, suspecting this might be an aftermath of their recent ordeal in the Realm of Heart Demons. They needed to leave this cave quickly. However, the darkness inside made it impossible to fly with a sword.
Thus, Ying Zhao gently told Wen Renming, letting him lean on his shoulder:
"It's okay, lean on me. I've got you."
Wen Renming nodded, guilt evident in his posture as he rested against Ying Zhao's shoulder. From an angle hidden from Ying Zhao's sight, Wen Renming gently inhaled the scent from Ying Zhao's body, the corner of his lips curling up.
He stealthily kissed the strands of hair hanging near his lips from Ying Zhao, a look of infatuation fleeting across his face. Silently, he whispered in his heart:
'It's okay, Yun Ping. Whether your feelings for me are genuine or pretense, it doesn't matter. I will always cherish and love you! We will be together, forever...'
Meanwhile, as Ying Zhao supported Wen Renming, a shiver ran down his spine. He couldn't shake the feeling that something ominous was lurking.
Always trusting his intuition, Ying Zhao hastened their pace towards a faint glimmer of light in the distance.
The two staggered their way to the cave's exit and finally emerged. But the scenery awaiting them was entirely different from what they expected.
To their surprise, the cave led to a vast, crystalline lake. The water shimmered under the clear sky, and the surrounding view was breathtaking.
Seeing this, Ying Zhao felt a weight lift off his chest. He settled Wen Renming on the grass by the lake, thinking of taking a short break. However, before they could catch their breath, a clattering noise echoed from the cave they just left.
Ying Zhao's brow furrowed, and he immediately tensed, eyes fixed on the cave entrance. Shortly, members from the Piaomiao Pavilion emerged one after another.
Ying Zhao was puzzled; their skills were inferior to Wen Renming's. Without his help, how did they escape the Realm of Heart Demons so swiftly?
The realization soon dawned on him. Although the Realm of Heart Demons inside the cave was perilous, it was merely a test of the boundary.
By helping Wen Renming overcome it, he essentially broke the boundary, causing the Realm to cease its existence. Hence, as the Realm's effects gradually dissipated, everyone from the Piaomiao Pavilion regained their consciousness.
However, their experience differed from Wen Renming’s. They hadn’t woken up by overcoming their inner demons. The seeds of their heart demons had been firmly planted. It was only a matter of time before these seeds would sprout.
They all looked dazed and lost, even Xiao Lie didn't immediately confront Wen Renming.
It was clear that confronting their heart demons had drained them entirely, and they all collapsed on the grass by the lake.
Ying Zhao paid no attention to them, his focus solely on Wen Renming. Ever since arriving in this world, his sole concern had been Wen Renming.
Although he intended to avenge the original owner's grudges, at this moment, after witnessing all that Wen Renming had gone through, Ying Zhao found it hard to look away.
After a long rest, Xiao Lie, gathering his energy, approached Wen Renming. As the leader of this expedition, he had responsibilities. Moreover, he couldn't forget the reason for all his sufferings.
At this point, even Xiao Lie lacked the energy to berate Wen Renming. Instead, he asked with evident exhaustion:
"Wen Renming, where exactly is the 'Qing Yuan Decree'?"
