byUnable to contain himself, he suddenly took a step forward, positioning himself protectively in front of Ying Zhao.
His gaze fixated on Fei Qi, he commanded coldly, "Leave."
Deng Pusi's voice deliberately carried an air of dominance, causing Fei Qi to frown and involuntarily step back.
Although he was well aware of the unpredictable nature of this vampire prince, he was certain he hadn't offended him.
Noticing Deng Pusi's possessive grip on Ying Zhao's shoulder, Fei Qi narrowed his eyes.
Being perceptive was one of his strengths. Seeing Deng Pusi's demeanor, it was clear to him what was intended.
However, having secretly cherished Asa for years, how could he willingly give up the chance to be close?
They had known each other for quite some time, and Fei Qi was well aware that Asa's feelings towards Deng Pusi were of loyalty, not of romantic affection.
In past visits, Deng Pusi had never behaved this way.
So, what was the reason behind this sudden hostility?
Could it be that Deng Pusi had suddenly come to his senses?
Or perhaps he simply saw Asa as his possession.
Considering this, Fei Qi, the head of the Giovanni family, had no intention of being slighted.
He challenged Deng Pusi, “Prince Deng Pusi, what exactly do you mean by this?”
“Do you truly see Asa as nothing more than your possession?”
“You must remember, Asa, like you, belongs to the third generation of vampires. He is not inherently bound to serve you.”
Upon hearing Fei Qi's words, Deng Pusi's grip tightened noticeably.
Because he knew that what Fei Qi said was true.
Emotions are inherently selfish; facing each other, neither man could bear the other's presence.
The atmosphere became instantly tense, as if swords were drawn.
Ying Zhao, seeing the posture of Deng Pusi and Fei Qi, rubbed his temple in exasperation.
After all, Deng Pusi's outburst was quite unexpected.
He offered a regretful smile to Fei Qi and suggested, “Fei Qi, I'm sorry. Perhaps you should leave for now. I'll visit your residence when I'm free.”
Fei Qi glanced at Ying Zhao, acknowledging that he wasn't a match for the man before him.
He nodded slightly, taking a step back.
However, Fei Qi then reached into his pocket and handed a black compass to Ying Zhao.
He said with a smile, “Here! I recall you, Asa, always wanting this black compass.”
“I thought it had been destroyed when the Necromancer was besieged by the church years ago. I only chanced upon it a few days back.”
“Remembering you mentioned it, I kept it for you.”
Ying Zhao's eyes lit up seeing the object in his palm; the black compass was one of the most powerful tools of a Necromancer.
Even though he was now a third-generation vampire, powerful without this artifact.
The original host had a penchant for the tools and books of Necromancers. Having received the host's memories, Ying Zhao naturally grew fond of such items.
Now, seeing the black compass, he couldn't help but inspect it closely.
He realized its rarity and examined it as if it were a treasure.
Even his usually stoic face displayed a genuine smile. He sincerely told Fei Qi, “Thank you! I truly love it!”
Observing Ying Zhao's delight, a tender smile graced Fei Qi's face.
He softly said, “I'm glad you like it. I've gathered some books related to the undead at my place, which I believe you'd find interesting.”
“I didn’t bring them today, but when you visit, I’ll give them to you.”
Ying Zhao nodded fervently, indicating he'd surely visit, and escorted him to the mansion's main entrance.
Throughout, Deng Pusi trailed behind Ying Zhao, observing their seemingly intimate conversation with grinding jealousy.
Seeing Deng Pusi's reaction, Fei Qi displayed a dismissive smile.
After bidding a tender farewell to Ying Zhao, he turned and departed.
Watching Fei Qi's retreating figure, Deng Pusi was suffocated with frustration, feeling that the scoundrel had come prepared.
In this era, artifacts and books left by Necromancers have become exceedingly rare.
The fact that Fei Qi could still procure such items clearly indicated his intention to charm those around him.
Reflecting on the many years he had been taken care of without ever gifting Asa anything meaningful, Deng Pusi was filled with regret.
He felt he had lost this round disgracefully and his mood grew increasingly gloomy.
Walking back to the house from the villa's garden gate, Deng Pusi remained silent.
Thoughts on how to please the one he cherished dominated his mind, and he found himself, almost unconsciously, inside the villa.
Instinctively, he followed closely beside Ying Zhao until they reached his office.
Meeting Ying Zhao's puzzled gaze, Deng Pusi snapped back to reality.
The man didn't elaborate further and simply seated himself on a nearby sofa.
He observed Ying Zhao holding the black compass, cherishing it.
Ying Zhao even carefully placed it inside a delicate box and tucked it into the drawer on the right side of his desk.
Seeing Ying Zhao's affection for the gift Fei Qi gave, resentment bubbled up in Deng Pusi.
For a moment, his mind went blank and his eyes grew fierce.
Suddenly, he sprang up, advancing to Ying Zhao's side.
He grabbed Ying Zhao's arm, pulling him into an embrace, and fiercely kissed him.
It was a bold and passionate kiss, leaving Ying Zhao momentarily stunned.
Recalling the original host's impression of Deng Pusi in this small world, Ying Zhao remembered the man's unpredictable temper.
One moment he'd be laughing, the next he might fly into a rage, potentially leading to some bloody and violent occurrence.
