Chapter 3: Another Omega
byChapter 3: Another Omega
In the end, he didn't return, only asking how Luo Le wanted to deal with the young master of the Lin family.
After that, Luo Le intentionally disappeared several times out of spite, but Huo Lanjing never came back once.
From then on, Luo Le clearly understood that there was not a hint of love from Huo Lanjing towards him.
As long as he didn't die, it was fine.
"I'm tired. Where's your room? I want to sleep."
Luo Le didn't want to continue this conversation.
Huo Lanjing said nothing, turning around and heading straight for the study.
Looking at his retreating figure, Luo Le suddenly felt that he had been asking for trouble.
He laughed at himself in self-deprecation.
"Little Master, are you tired? Would you like to rest? Little Yuan knows where your room is."
Luo Le looked at the unexpected appearance of the small orb and nodded.
"Then I'll trouble you, Little Orb."
"It's Little Yuan, not Little Orb, Little Master," the orb corrected.
Luo Le's mood improved slightly. He playfully teased it with a smile, "Alright then, Little Orb."
"No, it's Little Yuan, not Little Orb, Little Master," it persisted.
As they bickered along the way, Luo Le seemed to find solace in the familiarity of Little Yuan.
Huo Lanjing's room was minimalist, adorned in black and white with no unnecessary items - just a built-in wardrobe, a bathroom, and a large bed with its blankets folded meticulously.
"Little Master, please rest. Little Yuan is leaving."
Luo Le acknowledged with a soft hum and closed the door behind him.
His sticky skin was quite uncomfortable, especially the hand where he had just removed the bandages.
With nothing on his body, Luo Le walked over and opened the wardrobe door.
Huo Lanjing's wardrobe held a limited selection of clothing, mostly military uniforms and a smaller portion of suits.
Where were the pajamas?
Luo Le rummaged through the clothes and found a set of gray silk pajamas.
There was only one set.
After some deliberation, Luo Le pulled out a shirt and entered the bathroom.
His wound hadn't fully scabbed yet, so he could only give himself a light wipe-down.
Finished washing, Luo Le emerged with a towel on his head, ready to re-bandage his wound.
The door suddenly swung open, and he paused to look over.
Huo Lanjing strode ahead, with Little Yuan trailing behind him.
Upon entering, he detected a hint of grapefruit scent in the air, and his brow knitted in displeasure.
Thankfully, he didn't invite Lin Ye along.
Huo Lanjing approached him.
Luo Le abruptly stood up, looking up at him. "What's wrong?"
Huo Lanjing's gaze seemed to wander a bit.
She was only wearing his shirt, which reached a few inches above her knees.
Perhaps due to having just showered, her voice had a soft, sticky quality to it.
"Why aren't you using a suppressant patch?"
Huo Lanjing's voice sounded hoarse.
Luo Le touched the back of his neck. "That's it."
He saw Huo Lanjing lower his gaze in thought, then walk over to the desk and open a drawer.
Taking out a box, he returned and handed it to Luo Le.
"Apply it."
Luo Le looked down at the box in his hand. The film on top was missing.
He was momentarily stunned before opening the box.
There were a total of five inside, with two pieces missing from the top one.
This indicated that an Omega had been here and applied an inhibitor patch.
This realization plunged Luo Le's heart into despair.
It had been one year and three days since he last saw Huo Lanjing in person.
They hadn't even had many video calls.
Did Huo Lanjing find someone new in this past year?
Or were those whispers from the Empire true – that there was always someone special in Huo Lanjing's heart...
How far had they gone...?
Was Huo Lanjing ready to divorce him...
These questions lingered in his mind, haunting him.
"Also, an AI, brand new, just input your ID and it's good to go."
Luo Le responded with a lackluster "oh," then applied the suppressant patch and medicated himself.
"Mm," Huo Lanjing acknowledged.
Both remained silent.
