Chapter 93 - Extra Chapter One: Wind and Dust (3200+)

Qin Chen first encountered Wind City at the makeshift parade ground assembly point of the first military division.

Wind City had just finished training, his face covered in dirt, as he was walking back to his dorm with his arm around a friend's shoulder. Unintentionally, they collided with Qin Chen.

Wind City was taller than Qin Chen, albeit slender. Despite this, Qin Chen still ended up on the ground.

Then, Wind City rushed over to help him up, apologizing for the accident. After bidding farewell to his friend, he offered to carry Qin Chen's luggage.

Qin Chen had just had an argument with his father and had arrived two days early, so he was alone and unknown to others.

Finding the situation amusing, Qin Chen didn't refuse the offer.

Wind City ran over, asking, "Where do you live?"

Glancing at the three suitcases on the ground and the dirt on his own body, Wind City swiftly undid his khaki uniform, tying it around his waist. He wiped his hands clean before bending down to lift one suitcase onto his shoulder and picking up the other two with one hand.

Qin Chen sized him up from head to toe but didn't comment, simply gesturing in a certain direction.

They started walking in that direction.

On the way, Wind City, curious, asked, "You're a new recruit? Aren't new recruits only recruited every three years?"

After some thought, Qin Chen replied, "I'm an auxiliary member."

Wind City made an acknowledging sound.

Due to the lack of communication, Qin Chen only had a general idea of where he lived, and with his poor sense of direction, he ended up leading Wind City on a long detour.

Initially, Wind City assumed that Qin Chen was still upset about the collision and was deliberately prolonging their journey. However, since he felt guilty, he didn't say anything at first. But as night fell and they were still wandering, Wind City lost his temper.

He yelled, "Are you doing this on purpose? It was my fault for bumping into you, so if you have any issues, just speak up! Why are you wasting my time like this?"

Fuming, he threw the item in his hand away and stormed off.

Qin Chen cast a glance at the location that had just been sent to him and then at the man's retreating figure, feeling a surge of frustration welling up inside him.

For the first time as a prince, someone had dared to defy him so openly.

Suddenly, he noticed a badge on the ground, having fallen from the man's clothing.

So his name was Wind City.

From that moment, a grudge was born between the two.

The next day, the military assembled, and Captain Lin introduced Qin Chen to the troops.

When Wind City saw Qin Chen on stage, he cursed under his breath, wondering if he would now face any underhanded tactics.

Captain Lin also announced that he would be away on a second military campaign for a while.

He mentioned that the army would assign an aide to Qin Chen, but the choice would ultimately lie with Qin Chen himself.

Qin Chen immediately asked on stage who Wind City was.

Upon hearing this, the immediate superior of Wind City stood up and recounted some of Wind City's background.

Qin Chen smiled and said, "That's him."

As a newcomer in Wind City, his sudden rise to become the aide to an acting admiral instantly aroused envy from many.

Those who previously treated him like a brother suddenly began to ostracize him, even the one who was once closest to him.

It was then that Wind City realized that any affection, when tied to interests, could quickly become tainted.

How could he not see that Qin Chen was exacting revenge on him?

In any case, the rift between the two of them was growing wider.

On his first day in Wind City, Qin Chen delivered a warning shot.

Qin Chen, needing to acquaint himself with military affairs, asked Wind City to compile military records for him.

Wind City pretended to comply, but as soon as he returned to his small office, he promptly lay down to sleep.

Qin Chen waited an entire day for the information but neither it arrived nor did the messenger come in. Frustrated, he discovered that the person had already left.

He was furious. The following day, he summoned Wind City to the training grounds and defeated him, mocking his poor stamina and capabilities.

There's a difference between doing something and not doing it at all.

Deeply affected, Wind City began rigorous training and diligently fulfilled Qin Chen's assignments on schedule.

Initially, it was Qin Chen who wanted sparring sessions, but eventually, it was Wind City who eagerly dragged him in for practice.

Wind City's physique improved significantly, and his tasks were executed with greater proficiency.

Gradually, he became a capable assistant by Qin Chen's side.

One day, when Qin Chen was knocked down by Wind City, he suddenly realized that Wind City was no longer someone he could easily manipulate.

Though Wind City grumbled, he executed tasks exceptionally well.

Qin Chen had stepped in halfway, without military background, and chosen inexperienced Wind City as his aide.

As a result, everyone looked down on him and held grudges against him.

On one occasion, Qin Chen was having lunch with Wind City when he overheard people gossiping about him, using particularly harsh words.

Qin Chen didn't want to engage in an argument and was about to leave when he noticed, without realizing it, that Wind City had approached them.

Wind City was standing up for him.

This realization left Qin Chen feeling stifled, a strange taste in his mouth.

It was the first time he realized that Wind City was taller than him.

Moreover, it was the first time anyone had defended him.

Ever since he was young, due to his outstanding older brother, in social circles, people had subtly or openly mocked him as an ordinary individual, devoid of any royal essence.

Each time he complained to his father, his dad would advise him to endure it.

For some inexplicable reason, Qin Chen found himself paying increasing attention to Wind City from that moment on.

Later, he noticed that Wind City was particularly close to an omega.

That omega was the matriarch of the Huo family, Luo Le.

He was strikingly handsome and outstanding, exuding a strength not typically associated with omegas.

He was like a snow lotus growing on a cliff, both noble and resilient.

Wind City would go to great lengths to aid this omega, always keeping a watchful eye on him.

At the omega's mere word, Wind City would be willing to brave any danger for him.

It was an unconditional and biased affection.

Qin Chen could tell that Wind City treated this omega differently.

He was furious, incredibly so, but if you were to ask him why, he wouldn't know.

Each time he recalled the smile on Wind City's face when mentioning that omega, he felt an urge to tear it apart.

That night, he consumed all three bottles of high-concentration alcohol he had brought, burning his stomach with a scorching pain.

He summoned Wind City into his room and reprimanded him, starting from work matters and extending to his personal life.

Wind City listened with his head bowed, enduring the entire lecture. When it was over, he asked if he was done, for if so, he would leave.

Perhaps influenced by the alcohol, he impulsively embraced Wind City and kissed him.

Back then, Wind City's eyes widened in surprise, not reacting in time as Qin Chen playfully nibbled on her lips.

It was unclear how much time had passed when Wind City suddenly realized the need to push away the person reeking of alcohol.

Yet, Qin Chen found an unknown source of strength to push Wind City onto the sofa.

Before Wind City could react, Qin Chen seized the bottle on the table and swallowed the last remnants of alcohol within it.

Subsequently, she straddled Wind City's lap, holding the wine bottle in one hand and lifting his chin with the other. Leaning forward, she forcefully shared the wine from her lips into his mouth.

Wind City had a poor tolerance for alcohol; the moment the spirits touched his throat, he felt his mind go blank.

After regaining his senses, Wind City forcefully pushed Qin Chen away.

Qin Chen, who was still lost in passion, tumbled to the ground, hitting his head on the corner of the table and feeling slightly dizzy.

Wind City launched into a furious tirade, then, in a frenzied state, bolted towards the door. However, after just two steps, the alcohol took hold, causing him to sway and collapse.

Regaining his composure, Qin Chen rose and approached Wind City. Looking at the man with flushed cheeks, yet a hint of clarity in his eyes, Qin Chen's gaze darkened.

With events having progressed this far, there was no turning back now.

Qin Chen decided to go all in, straddling Wind City.

Removing his bathrobe, Qin Chen's fair skin contrasted starkly with his personality.

Feeling a hand slip into his clothing, Wind City's hazy eyes snapped back to focus.

In the dominant position above, endless desire shone in the other man's eyes.

He felt incredibly heavy, unable to move a muscle, yet his mind had grown marginally clearer.

Wind City looked at him with a cold gaze, saying to Qin Chen, "Don't force me to hate you."

Feeling the icy gaze, Qin Chen froze for a moment. He turned his head to glance at the toppled wine bottle behind him and let out a bitter smile.

He leaned in to kiss the exposed skin of Wind City, starting from her chin, trailing down to her collarbone, and then further still.

Wind City strained every sinew to push him away, yet found her limbs devoid of even the slightest strength, limp and unresponsive.

He could only resist with his voice.

Qin Chen absorbed every nuance of his voice.

"Are you out of your mind?"

Qin Chen, you are truly detestable.

    Are you that slutty?

    ...

Even in the depths of their union, Wind City did not cease his barrage of insults.

The sensation of being violated was intertwined with hurtful words.

It was a torment for the other lover, whose feelings ran deep.

Qin Chen could only reach out to cover the person's mouth, pleading silently, Stop, please stop...

Wind City felt droplets landing on his face, yet he remained coldly fixated on Qin Chen's longing expression.

Qin Chen caught sight of his eyes, and his vision grew increasingly blurred.

But he knew that Wind City's gaze remained unwavering upon him.

He could only stretch out his hand to cover Wind City's eyes, begging him not to look at him like that.

Eventually, Wind City began to regain his strength.

Qin Chen's strength gradually waned, and as Wind City gazed at Qin Chen's face, a surge of emotion welled up from within him.

The world spun around them, and in a dizzying switch, their positions were reversed.

Wind City's large hand clamped around Qin Chen's neck, leaning in to whisper a single sentence into his ear.

Qin Chen paused, not yet reacting, as the person atop him inflicted a punishing torment with unwavering force.

Even when he pleaded desperately later on, Wind City showed no mercy.

The following morning, they both awoke to find themselves in a large bed together.

Morning light illuminated the fine lashes of Wind City, and Qin Chen reached out to caress them.

Awakened by his movement, Wind City stirred, rising calmly to dress the moment consciousness returned.

Qin Chen said with a hint of bashfulness, referring to the previous night...

The sentence was left hanging as Wind City interjected that he couldn't recall.

The flame of hope that Qin Chen had just ignited was extinguished before his eyes as he watched Wind City depart, the door slowly closing behind him.

From that day forth, Wind City's attitude toward him was one of avoidance at all costs.

Pens that Qin Chen had touched were wiped clean before Wind City used them again.

Documents he had flipped through were carefully handled around the spots he had touched, then shredded.

Gifts that Qin Chen presented to Wind City would promptly end up in the trash.

Wind City was not afraid of his anger nor did he care about it.

Yet, Qin Chen refused to give up. It was the first time he had taken a liking to someone.

So, he persisted, stubbornly seeking Wind City's attention.

At a celebration party, after Wind City had gotten drunk, Qin Chen picked him up. Back at the hotel, they shared another intimate moment.

Qin Chen believed that if he kept showing kindness, someday he would touch Wind City's heart.

When he ascends to the elder's position, he'll make Wind City his sole queen.

Shortly after he assumes that role, Luo Le is captured by the insectoid race. Huo Lanjing turns to Qin Chen for assistance, and Qin Chen dispatches Wind City to help.

To his surprise, Luo Le vanishes entirely, and Qin Chen learns that Wind City had actually intended to depart all along.

Fueled with anger, he seeks out Wind City for an explanation.

Upon arriving at the palace prepared for Wind City, Qin Chen discovered him in a state of utter intoxication.

Only then did Qin Chen realize how deeply that omega occupied a place in his heart.

He had tried to snatch the wine away from Wind City, but was unexpectedly tackled to the ground by him.

In the final moment, Wind City leaned close to his ear and called out "Brother Le."

The instant Qin Chen heard this, his tears flowed uncontrollably.

Gently, Wind City brushed away the tear from the corner of his eye and said, "Don't cry."

However, Qin Chen was well aware that no matter how gentle his touch or how soothing his voice, it wasn't meant for him.
