    Chapter 7: "Intimate Endearments"

    "Husband."

Upon hearing Luo Le's address, Du Wei felt a wave of dizziness.

This person turned out to be Admiral Huo's wife.

    It was over...

    He stammered, "Admiral Huo..."

The others were suffocating under the pressure emanating from Huo Lanjing's presence.

Huo Lanjing didn't respond. He glanced at Du Wei with an arrogant expression, "Who did you say couldn't live?"

Du Wei's legs turned to jelly from fear. He quickly bowed and apologized, "Admiral Huo, I apologize. My eyes failed to recognize your greatness. I offended your wife. Please forgive my ignorance and let it slide as if it were a trivial matter."

Luo Le leaned against Huo Lanjing's arm, nuzzling her head against it.

She accused, "Husband, this person stole the chip I made."

Huo Lanjing paused, considering pushing him away.

Noticing the onlookers around them, he ultimately refrained from lifting a hand.

He gave Lin Ye a casual glance.

Understanding the unspoken message, Lin Ye stepped forward.

"According to the Linze Treaty, the Fifth Planet has the right to enforce Imperial law. As per the Eighth Article of the Imperial Copyright Law, anyone who uses or impersonates another's work without permission must compensate for the economic loss and emotional distress caused."

Luo Le had invested much effort in mecha since childhood, and due to his stepbrother's actions, he particularly detested others stealing credit for his mecha-related achievements.

"My chip has been certified by the Imperial Research Institute, and I suspect Lone Wolf might be involved in illegal operations."

Wind City had mentioned before that the Du family was like a bully on the Fifth Planet.

Now was the perfect opportunity to teach him a lesson, ensuring he wouldn't dare to bully others again in the future.

Lin Ye paused before continuing, "If found guilty of illegal appropriation of others' intellectual property and works, exile to the Fifty-Fifth Planet for fifty years."

Du Wei's mental defenses crumbled entirely. Ignoring his dignity, he fell to his knees before Luo Le with a thud.

"Madam Admiral, it's all my fault. I apologize; please forgive me this once. I promise it won't happen again."

Luo Le was at a loss for words. The man who had just been arrogant was now kneeling at his feet.

There was no sense of satisfaction in his heart, only pity.

    "Still not leaving?"

Luo Le turned to find that, while he was distracted, Huo Lanjing had already made some distance and was still walking steadily.

Luo Le jogged up to him, continuing to hold his hand as they left together.

None noticed the despair in Du Wei's face, a hint of madness creeping in.

In the hovercar on their way back, they were the only two passengers.

Lin Ye took the front seat ahead of Luo Le.

Huo Lanjing seemed disinclined to engage in conversation with Luo Le and closed his eyes, pretending to sleep.

Luo Le leaned closer, staring intently at him.

His gaze traveled from the straight bridge of his nose down to his reddened lips. He could still recall the sensation of their first kiss.

It was then that Huo Lanjing had momentarily shed his cold demeanor, kissing and biting him while holding his forehead as if to meld them together.

But that had been when Huo Lanjing was drunk; their actual kiss happened only once.

After that, their relationship had become more intimate.

Yet even in bed, during their most passionate moments, Huo Lanjing would avoid contact with his lips.

Afterwards, if there was any lip-to-lip contact, it was Luo Le who would deliberately lean in for a brief touch, which hardly qualified as a real kiss...

With this thought, Luo Le wore a worried expression.

Huo Lanjing suddenly opened his eyes to see Luo Le's face magnified before him.

On her palm-sized face, there were no extra curves. Her thick eyelashes curled slightly, and the teardrop mole beneath her eye added a touch of vivacity to her features.

One had to admit that there was nothing wrong with Luo Le's appearance that anyone could pick on.

If it were someone else marrying him, they would probably dote on him endlessly.

Unfortunately, it was Luo Le who married Huo Lanjing.

"Get down," he said, his voice laced with detachment.

It turned out that without realizing it, Luo Le had sat on Huo Lanjing's lap.

Blushing, she stubbornly retorted, "What? Can't I sit on my husband's lap? Not only will I sit, but I'll also straddle."

Not allowing him any chance to resist, Luo Le straddled across, facing him directly.

    Huo Lanjing: ...

    "Get down."

Luo Le stretched out his hand to encircle his neck. "No way. Hey, why were you there? Could it be that..."

Huo Lanjing didn't let him finish. "Not that."

"I already know even if you don't say it. The Dus invited you, right?"

Seeing that he remained silent, Luo Le knew he had guessed correctly.

    "Get down."

Then, Huo Lanjing grabbed his waist, attempting to push him off.

But Luo Le held on tightly, foiling the attempt.

    "No."

With one hand, Huo Lanjing gently pried apart the fingers around his neck, while with the other, he pushed Luo Le's waist to the left.

Luo Le persisted in his grip, unwilling to let go.

In the midst of their playful scuffle, a red string flashed before Luo Le's eyes. He paused, reaching out to pull at the thread.

Attached to it was a green pendant.

Luo Le attempted to remove it, but Huo Lanjing's hand firmly held onto his, preventing any movement.

    "What's this?"

Without even casting a glance at Luo Le, Huo Lanjing responded expressionlessly, "It's none of your concern."

Huo Lanjing despised wearing accessories. In the past, Luo Le had bought him a necklace.

He had never seen Huo Lanjing wear it even once.

Not even their wedding rings could be found on him.

This became a joke on the Star Network, with people teasing her that she couldn't keep her husband bound and that he didn't love her.
