Chapter 6 - "Not Fit to Carry Shoes for the Du Family."

There was only one A+ in the room, and it was signed by Du Wei.

    Rage exploded within him.

This was the first time someone had dared to play such tricks right before his eyes.

With a cold expression, he approached the person at the center of attention and spoke without any politeness.

"There is much you have to learn."

Upon hearing this, they all stepped forward. "What kind of joke is this? You're asking the person who created the A+ chip to learn from you? Who do you think you are?"

Indeed, Young Master Du has created the A+ chip. I ask you, how many on the entire Fifth Planet can do the same? I dare say that even within the Empire, there are only a few who possess such capability.

"Aren't you from the Melody Ensemble? Oh, I suppose you're not feeling envious because Young Master Du managed to create an A+ chip while you could only produce a B+?"

Luo Le gave a cold snort, his gaze sweeping past them before settling on Du Wei, as he responded to the man's question.

"Certainly, A+ chips are scarce even within the Empire. If the one who crafted the A+ chip takes the lead, I have no objections."

The person beside him looked at him in confusion. "Then what are you implying?"

Du Wei met that gaze and suddenly realized something, his expression turning grim.

"What are you trying to imply? I am of the Du family; you'd better watch your words." The emphasis on the last three words was particularly pronounced.

Luo Le was on the verge of laughing out of frustration. "Are you threatening me?"

Du Wei replied, "I'm just giving you a heads up."

The others couldn't comprehend Luo Le's actions. "Didn't you say that the person who created the A+ chip could rightfully claim the top spot?"

Luo Le pointed at the screen on the exhibition stand. "I said that because this chip wasn't made by him at all."

"What nonsense are you spouting? This is clearly Young Master Du's work. They were both tested together—how could it be fake?"

The emcee noticed the commotion and approached them.

"What seems to be the issue here?"

Luo Le spoke with a composed tone, "I have doubts about the assessment results. I request that you bring the chip forward for public verification."

"Sir, may I ask what evidence you possess to back your claims? Words carry weight, you know."

"If the results turn out to be the same as before, I'll take full responsibility."

Luo Le gazed resolutely at the emcee.

Seeing his determination, the emcee's expression turned awkward.

"Sir, our results are open and transparent. Could it be that the grade displayed during the production of the chip differs from the assessed grade? If that's the case, let me explain. The value shown on the instrument is just a reference and might have some margin of error."

Luo Le was aware that there could be errors in the real-time display, but never to such a significant extent.

"That explanation doesn't convince me. Please make the results public after the practical demonstration."

The host thought to himself that this was indeed a tough nut to crack.

Inside the private room, Captain Lin secretly glanced at the man whose emotions were unreadable.

He whispered, "Madam seems to be encountering some issues, General. Should we go and check it out?"

Huo Lanjing didn't respond, his gaze calmly fixed ahead, as if he hadn't heard anything.

Seeing that he wasn't getting an answer, Captain Lin wisely kept silent, not wanting to provoke the General.

He could only silently pray for Luo Le in his heart.

He hoped that the person on stage would restrain their temper, for this wasn't the Empire.

Moreover, the man beside him didn't seem like the type to step in and defend him.

On the stage, both parties remained locked in a tense standoff.

Seeing that the gentle approach was ineffective, the host decided to take a firmer stance.

Moving closer to Luo Le, she attempted to speak but was evaded before she could begin.

The host paid it no mind and, after once more ensuring the mic was off, spoke in a volume audible only to the two of them: "This young man here is the sole heir of the Du family from Planet Five. You've heard of the Du clan, haven't you? And the Lone Wolf mecha, surely? Their business reaches every corner of the galaxy. Let me be frank with you; this competition is being held by none other than the Du family... Well, I've said enough. You weigh it up for yourself."

As the voice faded, Luo Le also spoke in a hushed and astonished tone, "The Du family?"

The host, upon seeing his expression, assumed that he had finally come to his senses and was about to echo in agreement.

Yet, Luo Le sneered dismissively, "The Du family isn't even fit to carry my shoes."

Everyone present heard his outrageous remark and promptly averted their gaze, pretending not to have heard anything, fearing that the flames would ignite them next.

They all believed that Luo Le was finished.

The emcee stared wide-eyed at him, rendered speechless for a long while.

Du Wei's face turned ashen. "You, you belong to which family? I'll make sure your entire clan can't survive in this galaxy."

Luo Le felt like laughing. Back in the Empire, no one respected him in private, but they still flattered him on the surface.

This was the first time he had encountered such an audacious person.

He knew about the brand Lone Wolf, especially for their renowned mecha equipped with an S-Class chip.

The arm joint was nothing special; it couldn't even withstand a three-ton strength test.

Yet, this brand, which only had a humble thirty-square-meter store in the Empire, was hyped up to such an extent on the Fifth Planet.

Just as Luo Le was about to refute, he heard a deep male voice calling, "Luo Le."

He turned around and saw Huo Lanjing.

Today, Huo Lanjing was dressed in a well-tailored black suit that accentuated his sharp physique.

Tall and slender, his face was as cold as a tranquil lake.

Luo Le approached him delightedly, taking small steps forward to link his arm with Huo Lanjing's. His brows arched and his smile was as sweet as could be.

A stark contrast to the earlier tension-filled atmosphere.
