Chapter 062: Your Daughter’s Life Will Be Ruined

Jiang Chen and the others had been stationed on the roof for hours. Just as they were about to make their move, they saw several people leap over the courtyard wall and rush toward the inner courtyard. They were also covered from head to toe, and their origins were unclear.

Qian Yunxi's terrified cries came from the room. Wu Quan, unable to wait any longer, quickly stripped down to his undergarments. Just as he was unfastening his belt, the door was suddenly pushed open.

Angered by the interruption, he shouted, "Who the hell are you? You want to die?"

Several hooded men in plain clothes ran in. Two of them restrained Wu Quan, while the others dragged Qian Yunxi away. Qian Yunxi had no idea what was happening, but her only thought was to get away as quickly as possible.

Wu Quan could handle one or two assailants, but three or four were too much for him. He was soon stuffed into a sack, the opening tied with a rope, and thrown onto the bed before they closed the door and fled.

Jiang Chen on the roof was still hesitating when Jiang Ming arrived. "Madam has ordered us to continue following them and ensure that nothing happens to Miss Qian," Jiang Ming said.

The kidnappers took a shortcut to a carriage, pushed Qian Yunxi inside, and warned her, "Stay calm. We’re here for the money, not to hurt you."

One of them signaled, and they tied Qian Yunxi's hands and feet, stuffing a cloth into her mouth to keep her quiet.

After hearing Jiang Ming’s report, Ruan Qinghuan felt a mix of concern and fury.

Upon learning that it was the Wu family's second son who had taken Qian Yunxi, Chu Li exclaimed, "Wow, the Wu brothers are out of control! Can you believe they pulled this off?"

Ruan Qinghuan hesitated for a moment. "Let's go take a look."

Her plan had gone awry. She had intended to use Wu Cheng's name to create a rift between the brothers, but the real person had acted on his own, just as she had anticipated.

Now that Qian Yunxi had fallen into Wu Cheng's hands, they had to rescue her immediately, or she might not survive.

In the original story, the Wu brothers were described as twisted. The elder brother was only greedy and not particularly obsessed with women, but the younger brother, Wu Cheng, was notoriously ugly and promiscuous, not even sparing his own sister-in-law, which led to his sister-in-law's suicide out of shame.

The original story didn't mention Qian Yunxi's fate, so Ruan Qinghuan didn't know how her story ended, but at this point, she couldn't stand by.

The carriage came to a halt in front of an opulent mansion. Chu Li's people reported back on Jiang Chen's orders that this was one of the Wu family's residences. It was only used when guests were present, so despite its size, there weren't many servants inside, which was good news for rescuing Qian Yunxi.

Qian Yunxi was taken directly to the main hall, and everyone dispersed, leaving an eerie silence.

Lying on the upper seat of the soft couch, Wu Cheng puffed on a smoking pipe. His lecherous gaze roamed over her repeatedly, as if he couldn’t get enough. He threw the pipe aside and sat up straight to take a closer look, finally focusing his gaze on her chest.

"No wonder my brother is so infatuated with her. She's really something."

With her mouth covered, Qian Yunxi trembled with fear, tears streaming down her cheeks. She had escaped from a tiger's den only to fall into a wolf's lair. Wu Cheng was the nightmare of all women in Lu City, and everyone avoided him when they saw him.

To Wu Cheng, her struggles sounded like seductive whimpers. He had no intention of removing the cloth from her mouth; if he did, she would definitely scream, breaking the perfect atmosphere.

In this state, she couldn't scream or move, and he could do whatever he wanted.

He carried Qian Yunxi onto the soft couch. "Don't worry. My elder brother likes you a lot. Even after what happened today, he will still marry you."

Qian Yunxi's scalp felt numb from pulling so hard, but she couldn't break free from the ropes.

As Wu Cheng lifted her skirt, tears of despair streamed down her face. If her mouth hadn't been blocked, she would have bitten her tongue to end her life.

As Wu Cheng reached for her undergarments, Qian Yunxi passed out from sheer terror. Wu Cheng frowned. "Why did she faint? It's no fun if she's like a corpse with no reaction."

He was about to splash a bowl of cold tea on her to wake her up when his hair was grabbed and yanked hard. Tripped by his own half-fallen trousers, he crashed backward onto the floor.

When he saw the surrounding black-clad figures, he was initially stunned, then slowly pulled up his pants. "You found me pretty quickly. Go back and tell my brother that I’m keeping her today and will return her tomorrow."

After saying this, he ignored them and walked back to the soft couch as if no one was there. Jiang Chen could no longer restrain himself and kicked him flying from the side, sending him crashing into the display shelf by the wall.

Jiang Ming reacted swiftly, catching the shelf just in time, but a vase still fell and shattered into pieces.

With such a loud commotion, they expected to attract attention from the house and were prepared to fight, but after waiting for a while, there was no response.

The impact left Wu Cheng in such agony that he couldn’t even cry out for a long moment. Just as he was about to call for someone, a sole flew toward him, and a mouthful of blood spurted out, along with two teeth.

That strike came from Jiang Ming.

The four of them—Jiang Ming, Jiang Qi, and two of Chu Li’s guards—had never seen anything so vile and were determined to teach him a lesson.

Jiang Ming realized that the silence despite the commotion meant this scoundrel had done similar things before; the servants probably assumed it was just their master fooling around and didn’t dare interrupt.

Jiang Chen stopped him, pulling the cloth from Qian Yunxi’s mouth and shoving it into Wu Cheng’s mouth instead. Then he took the boiling water from the small charcoal stove...

The others exchanged glances, and Jiang Ming hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn’t stop him.

The boiling water was poured directly onto Wu Cheng’s crotch. The sudden stimulus made the unconscious man jolt awake, instinctively raising his hands to block, while trying to move away from the pain.

An entire kettle of water splashed onto that exact spot, soaking Wu Cheng’s clothes—it was hard to tell if it was water or urine.

The pain made his face flush red, veins bulging on his neck and forehead. A choked groan escaped him, as if his breath had been knocked out of him.

Ruan Qinghuan’s carriage halted outside the Qian family estate. Jiang Chen cautiously observed the surroundings, ensuring no one was around before knocking on the gate. The moment the gate opened, Jiang Ming, carrying Qian Yunxi, leaped inside, followed by Ruan Qinghuan and Chu Li.

Qian Qitai was sitting in the room, staring blankly at the room full of betrothal gifts. The Wu family had pushed them to this point, and if he delayed any longer, disaster might strike.

Madam Qian sighed. "This is Yunxi’s fate. Tomorrow, you should visit the Wu family and talk to their eldest son about setting up a separate household for her to live more peacefully."

Madam Qian’s eyes reddened. This girl had a stubborn temper, and although she had arranged marriages for her, the child never listened, dragging things out until this disaster struck.

As they spoke, the door was pushed open. Madam Qian was startled and instinctively stood up, only to feel dizzy when she saw her daughter being carried in, bound tightly.

Master Qian, who had seen his fair share of drama, frowned when he saw Ruan Qinghuan. "Madam Prime Minister, what does this mean?"

Ruan Qinghuan glanced at the betrothal gifts in the room and realized that what Wu Cheng had said at the Tong family was true.

At that moment, Chu Li felt a bit contemptuous of Qian Qitai for failing to protect his own daughter, her words laced with disdain. "Former Minister Qian, if it weren’t for me and my sister-in-law, your daughter would have been ruined today."
