Chapter 78
by 远行不渡Chapter 78
Catching a cheater???
Xu Lanfeng widened her eyes. Song Hezhu said indignantly, "Who would’ve thought? Even the model boyfriend would cheat. All men are scum!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Lin Yuhuan happened to look up, and the two inexplicably locked eyes. Song Hezhu added, "Except you."
Lin Yuhuan: "..."
Had he just been... kicked out of the man club?
Xu Lanfeng asked, "Boss, do you know where they went?"
Song Hezhu put her sunglasses back on and struck a dramatic pose, holding them in place. "Of course I do."
Xu Lanfeng: "..."
"Boss, now’s not the time," she hissed under her breath.
"Anyway, he’s currently arm-in-arm with his side chick. I saw them head to the third floor—it’s nothing but makeup shops up there. They must be shopping for cosmetics!"
Song Hezhu grabbed Xu Lanfeng and Lin Tingyue’s hands, not letting Lin Yuhuan off the hook either, giving him a pointed look. Left with no choice, Lin Yuhuan stepped closer.
Tilting her head up so no one could see her face but could still sense her determined energy, Song Hezhu declared, "Sisters! Brothers! I formally invite you to join me in my mission to catch this cheater—let’s wipe the floor with him!!!"
After this dramatic proclamation, she tapped her chin and asked, "Who’s in?"
So... so extra.
Well, she *was* their leader after all. Xu Lanfeng was the first to speak up. "I’m in."
Lin Tingyue raised her hand. "Me too."
All three turned to Lin Yuhuan, who, for once, looked slightly flustered. Straightening his glasses with mock seriousness, he said, "I’ll go too."
The four of them entered the elevator together, storming up to the third floor.
"Nobody warned us there’d be *this* many cosmetics stores up here."
Xu Lanfeng even quipped, "Might I ask, oh mighty leader, how shall we locate the villain?"
Song Hezhu: "..."
Suddenly, she shouted, "Bian Feiguang! Show your face right now!!!"
Lin Tingyue was stunned. "Well... that’s direct."
As every head turned toward them, Xu Lanfeng desperately wanted to cover Song Hezhu’s mouth. *She* might be covered up, but why should the rest of us suffer?
"Actually, I know where Bian Feiguang is right now."
Saved!
"He’s in the fifth store on the left, trying on lipsticks."
Song Hezhu marched over, and sure enough, she spotted Bian Feiguang at the entrance. But the scene before her wasn’t what she expected—Song Hezhu went completely still.
Xu Lanfeng hurried over. "What? What? Are they making out or what?"
This was even worse than kissing.
Bian Feiguang was nestled in a woman’s arms as she gently applied lipstick to his lips, her face brimming with tenderness.
Lin Tingyue shrieked.
"Ahhh! How could there be such a train wreck of a scene?!"
The others wondered the same thing.
When Bian Feiguang saw Song Hezhu, he felt a flicker of panic—but after turning his head and meeting the woman's affectionate gaze, he thought he could handle it.
He clenched his fists, bracing himself for the tirade Song Hezhu was about to unleash.
Song Hezhu immediately started yelling, "Bian Feiguang, how could you be so shameless?! I’ve been swamped with work, yet I still bought you gifts! And you? You took advantage of this time to cheat on me! And you even had a cup of milk tea every day—what a slick bastard you are!!!"
"Always pretending to be twenty-four/seven devoted boyfriend—now I finally see your true colors!"
"We’re done! I’m breaking up with you!"
Bian Feiguang stood there like a statue, silently enduring Song Hezhu’s scolding. His silence only infuriated her more. "Bian Feiguang, who’s buying this victim act?! You’re the one who cheated—you're not the one suffering here!"
Still fuming, Song Hezhu slapped Bian Feiguang, her sharp nails scraping across his cheek. The woman yelped and rushed forward, shielding Bian Feiguang in her arms. "What do you think you’re doing?!"
"Back off, or you’re next!" Song Hezhu snapped.
The woman clung anxiously to Bian Feiguang, but he shook his head, mouthing that he was fine.
He looked at Song Hezhu and said, "Hezhu, I truly do love you."
Song Hezhu sneered. "Hah, your love is worthless. I, Song Hezhu, can’t afford it."
"Believe it or not, I mean this—you’re the best person I’ve ever met. But sorry, I’m not into women."
Song Hezhu: "...?"
Wait, what the hell are you talking about?!
Is *she* a man, or is Bian Feiguang a woman?!
Did Bian Feiguang go to Thailand recently and get a sex change while he was there?!
Song Hezhu’s face went stormy.
Xu Lanfeng quietly tugged at Song Hezhu’s hand and whispered, "Boss, your boyfriend’s got a few screws loose."
"Not working right? His brain’s completely fried!"
"I’ve figured out this whole ‘gay’ mess!"
Song Hezhu and Xu Lanfeng perked up—how?
"If Bian Feiguang thinks he’s a woman, then being with Hezhu-jie would count as being gay."
Song Hezhu and Xu Lanfeng pictured Bian Feiguang wearing lipstick again, shuddered, and their arms broke out in goosebumps.
But Bian Feiguang’s mistress was also a woman.
"And if Bian Feiguang’s side piece thinks *she’s* a man… then suddenly, everything makes sense."
What?
Song Hezhu and Xu Lanfeng stared in disbelief at Bian Feiguang and the woman across from them.
Song Hezhu found it odd—she had never heard of Bian Feiguang having such a bizarre condition. Could it be...?
"Unfortunately, Bian Feiguang doesn’t actually have that condition. He’s just making excuses for his cheating. Always unable to resist being unfaithful—this kind of 'problem' can definitely be fixed. A quick snip will cure it for good."
Pfft—HAHAHA!
Song Hezhu couldn’t help but laugh.
Bian Feiguang continued giving her that same "I love you, but I’m really not gay" look. Coincidentally, Song Hezhu actually had a pair of scissors in her bag.
She pulled out the scissors and charged toward Bian Feiguang, scaring him half to death. “Y-you—Hezhu, what are you doing?!”
“I’m just fixing your little problem so you two can live happily ever after.”
Of course, she didn’t actually cut anything in the end—the store owner panicked and called the cops.
After leaving the police station, Song Hezhu officially dumped Bian Feiguang. But one thing pissed her off.
Bian Feiguang kept telling the police she was just obsessed with him, which explained why she went psycho, and begged them not to punish her.
Song Hezhu gagged and slapped him again.
The cops let it slide after giving her a warning.
Xu Lanfeng and Lin Tingyue were waiting for her in Lin Yuhuan’s car. When they heard what happened, both gave her a thumbs-up.
Xu Lanfeng grinned, her eyes gleaming. “Only the boss could pull that off—such a total queen.”
Song Hezhu’s ego was through the roof. She smirked. “Obviously.”
“That felt amazing—great for breast health.”
Song Hezhu patted Lin Tingyue’s head. As the car drove off, they passed an ambulance heading the opposite way—probably toward the police station.
Song Hezhu frowned. “What’s going on?”
Lin Yuhuan, who had been quiet the whole time, said casually, “I may have called the psych ward. They’ve got a gender crisis and seriously need help.”
Song Hezhu and Xu Lanfeng exchanged glances—the real genius was in the car all along.
...
At Ying An’s birthday party.
Ying Ning threw her arms around Lin Tingyue. “Tingyue-jie! You made it!”
“Mm,” Lin Tingyue scanned the room. “Where’s your brother?”
Ying Ning giggled and covered her mouth. “Looking for him already?”
Lin Tingyue missed the teasing tone. She waved the gift in her hand. “I want to give this to him as soon as possible.”
Aww, she’s handing it to him herself?
Ying Ning nodded eagerly. “Right this way~”
Ying Ning weaved through nearly half the banquet hall holding Lin Tingyue’s hand, but there was still no sign of Ying An. Where was her brother? This was such a perfect chance—if he blew it, there wouldn’t be another!
She should’ve just dragged Ying An to wait at the entrance with them.
Ying Ning explained to Lin Tingyue, “My brother’s probably caught up with something important.”
Lin Tingyue smiled. “I’ll just give it to him when we see him.”
Ying Ning nodded. “How about we leave the gift in my room first? It’s a hassle to carry around.”
Lin Tingyue replied, “Sure.”
Lin Tingyue followed Ying Ning upstairs and ran into Ying An in the hallway.
Ying An had been scowling, but the moment he saw Lin Tingyue, his frown softened. He stepped closer and murmured, “Miss Lin.”
Lin Tingyue blinked playfully and teased, “Mr. Ying, the birthday boy shouldn’t look so grumpy!”
Oddly, warmth flooded Ying An’s chest, instantly lightening his mood. He smiled. “Got it.”
He glanced at the item in Lin Tingyue’s hand and asked, “Is this for me?”
He couldn’t quite hide his eagerness.
Ying Ning cringed inwardly—her brother was such a lost cause!
“Yeah.”
Lin Tingyue handed the gift to Ying An, who took it with both hands. He itched to tear it open right then but held back. “I’ll go put this away first.”
As Ying An walked away, Ying Ning felt something was off.
Her brother had been dying for Sister Tingyue’s gift—he’d usually rip into it the second he got it. She knew him too well.
The only reason he’d hold back now was bad timing.
Before Ying Ning could figure it out, she looked up and saw a member of the main family approaching. Her face immediately darkened.
“Ying Ning, aren’t you happy to see your cousin?”
Why would I be happy? We’re not close.”
“You—!” Ying Qingyan hadn’t expected Ying Ning to be so blunt. She flushed with anger but couldn’t find a retort.
In the end, she could only stomp her foot. “No wonder the branch families are so uncouth.”
Ying Ning rolled her eyes. Same tired insults—how original. Anyone listening would think the main family was full of fossils.
She took Lin Tingyue’s hand. “Sister Tingyue, let’s go. Don’t mind her.”
“Who’s the one with no manners here? Wasn’t it you who stole Ning Ning’s necklace?”
seriously??? wtf dude
